Technically, any doctor can prescribe, it's really a matter of seeing a doctor and discussing it with them to see if they will do so. Belviq is manufactured by Arena Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being used to aid in weight-loss. Typical side effects as reported to the FDA may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and back pain. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? I began taking Phetermine in October of '14, weighing in at 272 big ones! Yikes! I had weight loss--but in December my doctor suggested we pair the Phen with Contrave. He said it would help in the evening when I usually like my snacks. My weight loss was minimal but still there. By Feb. '15, I'm down 55lbs, but again weight loss was moving slower. So my doctor wants me to add Belviq. I've been taking all three and so far no major side effects. Just thirsty for water. Hello. As stated before by others I went to my PCP today and he would not prescribe it to me... Instead said I need to see a dietician.. I meet all the criteria listed. I also did all my research... He wouldn't give me a name of another doctor. He printed out websites to help me lose weight. I am located in northeast Ohio. Does anyone know a doctor I can see? Do I try and find a different PCP?

I have Lipozene that i bought a gew mths ago and wonder if its safe to take both together? ## Hi Stacey, According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Belviq (Lorcaserin HCl) and Lipozene (Glucomannan). Based off this info alone, it doesn't seem like there would be any issues with taking them both together. However I still think it would be wise to inform your doctor of anything else you're taking alongside whatever he/she prescribes... that way your doctor can at least have your back if anything rare/unusual does happen (god forbid). Looking for a Dr. in Jackson Mississippi that will prescribe Belviq. ## I got mine from My OBGYN, Dr. Jennifer Shea Moses with Southern Women's Health Group. The are located in the Suites next to River Oaks Hospital off of Lakeland Dr. She is tough though. Your BMI HAS to be 30% or higher. I started out with adipex but had horrible side effects, but I had lost weight while on it. My BMI was just below 30% and she wouldn't give the Belviq to me (until I begged and pleaded). Plus she is an awesome doctor to have. Keep in mind that if your insurance does not pay for it, you will be paying about $250 for a month's supply.

I am on 70mgs of methadone and have gained 65lbs while being on it and cant lose the weight even if my life depended on it! I tried everything from diet and exercise and every diet pill out there. Phentermine did make me lose 10lbs but no more then that even when i continued taking it for months later. So i stopped and gained the 10lbs back and plus some. My Doctor suggested I try Belviq since I am about 30 lbs overweight and smoke like a chimney. I have been trying Chantix off and on for about three years, and had varying success. However, there are prescribing parameters, it should only be prescribed for obese patience that also have one weight related complication, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. I am taking Belviq but I have a sinus infection and need to take something. Are there certain OTC drugs that interfere with Belviq. I'm thinking anything with Dextromethorphan in it shouldnt be taken. ## Hello, Shandra! How are you? If you have a sinus infection, there is no over the counter product that will eradicate it. You'll need an antibiotic, which must be prescribed by your doctor.
