Looking for doctor in lexington ky to prescribe belviq ## I'm looking for a doctor as well. We live in the Ontario, CA area. We have kp HMO and when I asked my doctor if she could give me a prescription, she said she couldn't. But, that what she could do was to refer me for counseling/group to show me what I should be eating. That's NOT what I need! I need something to help me curve my appetite. ## Hello, Felicia and KD! How are you both? In the U.S. any doctor can prescribe it, but you may be referred to a specialist, if you have a weight problem. Medications, such as Belviq, are not appropriate for everyone. It is also used as an adjunct to a reduced calorie diet and exercise plan. It also requires that your BMI exceeds a certain number, plus other risk factors are also ta...

Just moved to the Orange County Ca area and would like to find a Doctor who will prescribe Belviq for weight loss ## Hello, Chelle! How are you? Unfortunately, there is no directory of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. You'll really just need to see a doctor, discuss your problem and then tell them that you'd like to try it. However, you do need to meet certain criteria for it to be prescribed, such as being a certain amount overweight based on your BMI. Qysimia may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and anorexia. Do you have a PCP in your new location, yet? If so, they might be able to help, or refer you to someone that can. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? ## Hi Chelle, I just moved ...

Trying to find a doctor in Ventura who would prescribe it? ## Hello, Chonch! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Technically, any doctor can prescribe, it's really a matter of seeing a doctor and discussing it with them to see if they will do so. Belviq is manufactured by Arena Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being used to aid in weight-loss. Typical side effects as reported to the FDA may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and back pain. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? Are there any weight loss specialists that might help?

I'm searching for an online weight loss dr for a prescription for belviq. Are there any online doctors that help you with weight loss? ## Hello Kitten, While I can't say it's impossible it is extremely unlikely that you are going to find a doctor online who is willing to prescribe you a controlled medication, belviq is a controlled substance, without doing the proper physical and exam. Any doctor who would be willing to do so would not only be putting their career on the line but also putting your health at risk. Now that I've addressed that is there a particular reason that you would like to get this medication online and you don't want to go into a physical location to get the prescription? Perhaps if I knew the reasoning behind your logic I could assist you in a d...

My PCP "doesn't believe" in weight loss drugs. I'd like to see a doctor to see if BELVIQ is right for me. Does anyone know of a doctor in or near Orlando that would prescribe it if they feel I'm a candidate? ## I am also looking for a doc in Orlando that will prescribe this med. Please post back here if you find one and I will do the same ## You should thank your Doctor every day for not believing, neither does the FDA. It can cause cancer and has been pulled from the market:

I began taking Phetermine in October of '14, weighing in at 272 big ones! Yikes! I had weight loss--but in December my doctor suggested we pair the Phen with Contrave. He said it would help in the evening when I usually like my snacks. My weight loss was minimal but still there. By Feb. '15, I'm down 55lbs, but again weight loss was moving slower. So my doctor wants me to add Belviq. I've been taking all three and so far no major side effects. Just thirsty for water. I feel like contrave is supposed to be this miracle drug, but I don't feel like it does anything. Am I the only one being prescribed all these at the same time? Side note, I just has full blood work completed to make sure none of my organs are shutting down from this. Since day 1, I've eaten better a...

Hello. As stated before by others I went to my PCP today and he would not prescribe it to me... Instead said I need to see a dietician.. I meet all the criteria listed. I also did all my research... He wouldn't give me a name of another doctor. He printed out websites to help me lose weight. I am located in northeast Ohio. Does anyone know a doctor I can see? Do I try and find a different PCP?

I have been taking Belviq for almost 3 wks now and dont feel it working like it should. I have Lipozene that i bought a gew mths ago and wonder if its safe to take both together? ## Hi Stacey, According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Belviq (Lorcaserin HCl) and Lipozene (Glucomannan). Based off this info alone, it doesn't seem like there would be any issues with taking them both together. However I still think it would be wise to inform your doctor of anything else you're taking alongside whatever he/she prescribes... that way your doctor can at least have your back if anything rare/unusual does happen (god forbid). I hope this info helps!

Looking for a Dr. in Jackson Mississippi that will prescribe Belviq. ## I got mine from My OBGYN, Dr. Jennifer Shea Moses with Southern Women's Health Group. The are located in the Suites next to River Oaks Hospital off of Lakeland Dr. She is tough though. Your BMI HAS to be 30% or higher. I started out with adipex but had horrible side effects, but I had lost weight while on it. My BMI was just below 30% and she wouldn't give the Belviq to me (until I begged and pleaded). Plus she is an awesome doctor to have. Keep in mind that if your insurance does not pay for it, you will be paying about $250 for a month's supply.

Can't find a local doctor to prescribe this new weight loss drug Belviq where I live in Central MN. ## I'm sorry, but there is no directory of doctors that will or will not prescribe any given medication. And if you're calling around to various doctors and asking if they'll prescribe any particular medication, they will tell you no, because that's considered drug seeking behavior and it doesn't matter what type of medication you're asking about. Learn more Belviq details here. Any doctor can prescribe it. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, you can ask them about it, or have them refer you to someone. ## Hi, I'm having the same issue. I met with my doctor and provided her all the information I could print on it. I wanted to try belviq to help lose weight. I keep trying to research it to see if it works with methadone but cant find a answer. Anyone out there have any luck with belviq while on methadone? ## I've been on methadone for pain management for 5 years now, now at 60 mg per day. My Doctor suggested I try Belviq since I am about 30 lbs overweight and smoke like a chimney. I have been trying Chantix off and on for about three years, and had varying success. I am down big time to a half pack a day from 1.5 packs a day. Not sure I want to do the swap. Has anyone else had success with Belviq for quitting? ## Hello, Arabella! How are you? Belviq is approved for weight loss by the FDA, but I've not heard or read anything about it being used to help with smoking cessation. However, your doctor is allowed to prescribe medications off-label, according to their own experience, so they may know it to work for other people. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and anorexia. Has anyone used it to stop smoking? #...

I would like to try it but I don't know who will prescribe it. ## Hello, Tiffany! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe it, there aren't any restrictions on it, from what I can find. However, there are prescribing parameters, it should only be prescribed for obese patience that also have one weight related complication, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. I am taking Belviq but I have a sinus infection and need to take something. Are there certain OTC drugs that interfere with Belviq. I'm thinking anything with Dextromethorphan in it shouldnt be taken. ## Hello, Shandra! How are you? If you have a sinus infection, there is no over the counter product that will eradicate it. You'll need an antibiotic, which must be prescribed by your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi,, I started taking Belviq 3 days ago. About 4 hours after I take it I start itching all over.Has anyone had this side effect? Does anyone have any tips?It is driving me crazy. Also, I was taking Phentermine but my doctor took me off it. Does anyone know if you can take it with Belviq? Seems like it would help with the drowsiness. ## Generally, they are not prescribed together, since there is a greater risk of your experiencing more severe side effects, which could include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia, and anorexia, according to FDA reports. Has there been any change to the itching? Did you also experience hives, or a rash? If so, that could be the sign of an allergic reaction and this might not be a safe medication for you to take. ## Thank you very much on the ...
