Went to one dr and she wouldn't take me on as a patient. She wanted me to titrate down to a very low dose. I take 3 80mg oxy's a day and have been for many years. Really want to get off of this stuff. will pay cash if have to. ## Well, in such cases, most doctors are going to want you to just taper off of the Oxycontin, because it is easier and safer. I no longer have insurance and I am wondering if there were any free treatment centers in the Birmingham Alabama that prescribed silicone? ## Hello, Connie! How are you? Unfortunately, there are none that treat with Suboxone that I'm aware of, it is actually provided by private doctors that have the special waver to treat with it. Have you considered Methadone treatment? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I would stay away from methadone. Bad for your teeth. Makes you sleepy. More easy to decrease your suboxone than methadone. That's my opinion .

I live in Kokomo, IN. I was on subs, but they require way to many na/as meetings. I have a full time job and 2 kids to look after. I heard there is a doc in Carmel that doesn't make you do these classes. I just need the medication cause I've been addicted to opiates for almost 20 years. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Most of the places I've tried make you find your own counselor which can be super expensive and difficult to get an appointment or else they won't prescribe you the medicine. I found a clinic opening in Carmel next month called Lucina treatment center which at least provides the counseling included in your cost so might give them a try. Can't be any worse than my current provider.

Is there anyone out there who has gotten off Suboxone? And do you have any tips or can tell me if it's possible to get off without going through hell? Thank you in advance ## I just posted almost the same question... I'm looking for advice that I don't already knw but I can tell u what has been helping me... im always taking percocets ## You would need to check in your area and see if there is a doctor the provides Suboxone treatment and it is only intended to be used by those with a severe opiate addiction. It contains a very potent narcotic Buprenorphine, as well as Naltrexone, to prevent someone using other opiates, while they are under treatment with it. It would also not be free, even if a doctor gave it to you in their office. Are there any comments or questions?

Is suboxone & zanax dangerous to take together? ## Hi Anne, Based on my research, there are potentially dangerous drug interactions listed between Xanax and the buprenorphine found in Suboxone. From what I've read, using either of these medications together can increase your risk of developing serious respiratory depression, buprenorphine overdose, coma, and even death. Is this combination something your doctor prescribed to you? If so, he's really putting you at risk for some potentially life-threatning side effects. You may even want to consider switching doctors to someone who knows more about drug interactions; if not but for your own safety. I hope this helps! ## Thank you so much for answering my question about suboxone & zanax! Yes my doctor dies give me both...

trying to detox from subone have been on 8mgs a day for 15 months need help please thank you. ## Hi confused, I hope I don,t confuse you more but heres what I did when I got down to 8mgs. By the way, it was my sub. drs. taper plan. For 2 weeks I alternated, day 1 8mgs. day2, 4mgs. day3, 8mgs.day4, back to 4mgs. This averages out to 6mgs. I kept this routine up for 2weeks then tapered to 4mgs. From the 4mgs I tapered 1mg. per week. After the last week on 1mg. I stopped completely. I was taking the strips and when I got down to 4mgs. sub dr. prescribed the 2mg strips just because it was easier to cut. Tapering this way was a walk in the park. No wds. bettween tapers. Last week on 1mg I woke up couple times thruout night but went right back to sleep. No problems after that. Been off subs s...

I am trying get myself clean off H n just took a 6mg suboxone strip. Will it help if so long till it works? ## Hi Kitty! B 4 the suboxone will work, u MUST b in withdrawals. Otherwise, it won't work and can make u feel worse. As far as time, they usually take about 15 minutes 2 work. If the g don't work, u may need more. It all depends on how much and how long u were using. But, if you want 2 get clean, u r going 2 need more than a day or few 2 do it. U should go 2 a clinic or suboxone dr and do it properly. If u r not already doing that. Remember, the main thing is 2 b withdrawing b 4 u take the suboxone.

is a 4mg tablet of suboxone a half of tablet or a whole tablet...could someone please explain this to me...8mg 2 mg what is what?? ## There are 2 dosages available, which contain the Buprenorphine and Naloxone, one is a 2mg/0.5mg and one is an 8mg/2mg, so yes, to take 4mgs, you'd have to take half of the larger tablet. This is a narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm on day four of no subs after a 24 mg a day treatment for pain and addiction. I wish i never touched the stuff. My pain management doc reccommended them to me after a year long perc and vic habit. I wish i just would of suffered throught the few days of WD from that instead of going on subs. THEY DID GIVE ME MY LIFE BACK. BUT!!!! They are very very very hard to let go of. The WD is not as intense as dope sick but it is drawn out and mostly mental. The first week is achey and pissed off. I know that because thats how far i got before then started subs again. I'm on day four trying again. I got some valium this time to help me throught the worst of it so I'm hoping I will win the battle this time.
