I have extreme anxiety and have been on Xanax for some time. I just moved to Charlotte and can not find a dr that will help. Does anyone know of a doc that wont treat me like some type of drug addict for asking for help that works! ## You have been on it for some time. Why did you not bring some with? If you are getting them by some other source do not tell the Doctor as you will be looked at as a drug seeker. How old are you? ## I'm 33. I was prescribed Xanax in 1992. Five months ago my new PCP changed to Klonopin which is not working. Im looking for a Dr. or psychiatrist that will prescribe me xanax. My Dr. recently retired and I've been getting 120 2mg bars every month for years and als. I have an autistic child starting high school next year, my oldest son flunked out of college and my daughter got a new car and someone without insurance hit it. Plus the stress of my job. My husband hung himself recently and I came home and found him in our garage and cut him down to try to save him but it was too late..we have a baby girl who was 11 months old at the time and also was home with him when he did it. I have terrible anxiety and panic attacks. They control my life in general. I have been prescibed xanax for panic disorder by a couple different doctors. Both one MG and two MG. I first was prescribed them by a psychiatrist that passed. I started getting them from family doctor. My last doctor got in trouble and lost his license for over prescibing so those medical records aren't available and the psychiatrist that died records aren't available. Son is 24 and has high anxiety, was through chemo many years ago, things not the same. Dr here in Phoenix area we went to gave him xanex and then said to that Zoloft. No way in he is taking that. He only wants like 1 pill every couple of days or so. This is an extremely talented individual that has had a serious lack of motivation and energy since going through the chemo and radiation. My wife is 31 years old and she suffers from huge anxiety problems and panic attacks on a daily basis. However because of her age we can’t find a doctor to prescribe her xanax because so many people her age do abuse prescription drugs and sell them. We know it’s very addicting but she had been on them for three years and we move for about a year and she substituted the Xanax with drinking a lot of alcohol.
