Why is it so hard to find 60 mg fexofenadine on shelves anywhere. The only thing I can find generic or otherwise is 180 mg, 24 hour. ## Hello, SJW! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. I'm sorry, but I'm not exactly sure why you can't find it, since it is an over the counter product, shortages are not required to be reported. Have you tried asking your pharmacist? They may know more. This is a generic for Allegra, which is used to treat allergies and which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and drowsiness. It could even be that the 60mg dosage just doesn't sell as much as the other, so it may not be viable for most stores to keep it in stock.

Does Fexofenadine contain gluten? I have been suffering with chronic hives and none of my med seem to help. Can anyone help? ## Fexofenadine is exactly that, nothing else, what you need to look at is the other ingredients in the pills, the inactives that are the fillers and binders they use to give the pill significant substance and hold it together in the desire shape and consistency. These 'inactive' ingredients differ, depending on the manufacturer, there are certain standards for what can be used, however, there are many options and the various generic med manufacturers do not all have to use the same ones. That said, with the little information your provided, I cannot tell you what is in those inactive ingredients, as listing is usually available under the professional pres...

I need to know the manufacturer's name, and would also like to know the inert ingredients, especially color agents. I'm allergic to yellow dye #5. ## Hello, The manufacturer for this pill is Teva Pharmaceuticals USA. Being that this pill is orange I'm led to assume it has some sort of dye in it, but I cannot determine if yellow #5 has been used. Below is the manufacturers website. There's a contact link on the page that should allow you to email or call the customer service center to inquire about such details: Please post back if you have any other questions or comments to add.

I have been searching for Fexofenadine hcl / congestion (generic for Allegra D). No major pharmacy seem to have it. It is the only one I find help my allergies. The brand is so expensive. ## Have you tried ordering it from the web? There are many websites that offer it and it would be much easier than running around to more stores to look for it. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness and dry mouth. Fexofenadine is just a generic for Allegra, Allegra D contains it with Pseudoephedrine. ## I have been search too, no luck at any pharmacy in the DFW TX area. Something must be up with the maker of it, but no one seems to no what is going on- in fact few internet searches even result in others searching... it's as if almost no one notices the sudden disappearance. ...

can i take more than 180 mg of fexofenadine my eyes are swollen and my throat is drying up i have an epi pen but am not sure when to use it ## Hello, Betty! How are you? The epi pen should be used when you have trouble breathing and you may feel like you are going to lose consciousness, or your family should know to use it, if you lose consciousness and can't communicate with them. There are training videos you can watch for them and it should be shot into the thigh. As to the Fexofenadine, while it can be taken in higher doses, it will not usually help fast enough, if you are having a severe anaphylactic reaction. In such cases, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or your epi pen are the best choices, unless your doctor instructs otherwise, because they work much faster and could save your ...

I have the fexofenadine hydrochloride tablets in 180 mg dosage. Question: they seem too strong for me--can i split them in half? ## Is there a score line (indent) on the pill? If there is, then it is there specifically for the purpose of cutting the pill in half. Whether or not there is a score line, I would still cut the pill in half if it is needed. Maybe talk to your doctor about getting a lower dose of this medication if you consistently feel the need to use half a dose. NOTE: cutting a pill in half only works if the pill is in tablet form. This just wouldn't work if it is a capsule, since the contents would fall out. Hope this helps! ## thanks for the info. thought this was what i could do. just too much for me in 180 mg dose. thanks again ## I know this is an old topic, but I ...

I just tried to order my refill of Fexofenadine from my mail order pharmacy and was told that I could not because it is no longer manufactured do to the fact that Allegra is available over the counter. I was told this occurred on June 7, 2011. Has anyone else had this problem? I ordered from the mail order pharmacy because it was cheaper to get a 90 day supply from them than getting a 30 day supply over the counter. ## No, Allegra/Fexofenadine has not been discontinued, but it is now available over the counter, just as they informed you. You can purchase both the generic and name brand over the counter. A friend of mine just purchased a 90day supply of the generic for $20, OTC. You may want to check with a local pharmacy. I know that purchasing the generic for Pepcid, Famotidine is only...
