I am allergic to the aluminum lake red and yellow colors (all of them). How do ferric colors differ from aluminum lake colors? ## Hello, Emwoodli! How are you? I'm sorry, what an annoying allergy to have, it must be very hard to keep track of, since colorants are in so much stuff. The difference, however, is that ferric is iron based, rather than aluminum like the others. Therefor, they may not cause you a problem, like the others do. Is there anything else I can help with?

Very hard to find inactive ingredients listed on generic meds. Very allergic, hives swelling of face and tongue. Pharmacy has not been helpful. They switch generic brands from time to time. Very frustrating. ## Hello, Nell! How are you? What are the markings on the medication in question? That is what would enable me to check for you to see if I can find a list of the inactive ingredients for you. I'll gladly research it, if you post back with additional information. Have you informed the pharmacy of your allergy? If you know your allergic to ferric oxide, they can list that in your file and check it against any medications you're prescribed.

Ferric Pyrophosphate Citrate Drug Index

In chemistry, pyrophosphates are phosphorus oxyanions that contain two phosphorus atoms in a P–O–P linkage. A number of pyrophosphate salts exist, such as disodium pyrophosphate (Na2H2P2O7) and tetrasodium pyrophosphate (Na4P2O7), among others. Often pyrophosphates are called diphosphates. The parent pyrophosphates are derived from partial or complete neutralization of pyrophosphoric acid. The pyrophosphate bond is also sometimes referred to as a phosphoanhydride bond, a naming ...

I recently had an infusion of 500mil of diluted ferric carboxymaltose 13 days ago. Since then I have experienced sever fatigue and weakness, loss of appetite, difficult bowel movements , unusal anxiety and loss of consciousness. I previously had an infusion of venofer and experienced no side effects. My question is mainly to do with loss of consciousness which was experienced 13 days after the injection. Could a link be made ? Or has there been too much time between the infusion and the said incident? I have another infusion booked and am unsure whether or not to proceed . ## Hello, Emma! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about what you've experienced. The fatigue, loss of appetite, constipation and anxiety are all listed as possible side effects to iron infusions by the FDA. Ho...

I have been taking the Blue oblong tab 180mg from Mylan, I think, for years with no problem (for chronic migraine relief). One time, some years ago, I received a brown tablet and took it back because it did not work and I got a terrible 3 day long migraine attack. I did some research and found out it was because of the dye in it making it brown. So my pharmacist got me the Blue ones and kept them in stock for me. I have moved and recently filled them via mail order pharmacy and they arrived yesterday....brown from Glenmark. Why do the brown ones make me sick and the blue ones work for me just fine? I will need to call the mail order pharmacy and see what I can do about sending these back and getting them filled at a local pharmacy in hopes of getting the blue ones. ## The best thing to ...

ICAR Iron Salts

In chemistry, iron(III) refers to the element iron in its +3 oxidation state. In ionic compounds (salts), such an atom may occur as a separate cation (positive ion) denoted by Fe3+. The adjective ferric or the prefix ferri- is often used to specify such compounds — as in "ferric chloride" for iron(III) chloride, .mw-parser-output .template-chem2-su{display:inline-block;font-size:80%;line-height:1;vertical-align:-0.35em}.mw-parser-output .template-chem2-su>span{display:block}.mw-parser-...
