Fentanyl To Suboxone

Hi, my name is Rebecca. I have been using opiates for about 3 years now, but I've only been addicted to opiates for a year now. I say opiates but I go back and forth between opiates and suboxone. For the past year I have been using suboxone almost everyday(supplied by boyfriend) and he does it too. Last week my boyfriend and I went through a nasty breakup and he hasn't been giving me anymore suboxone or using it himself either. We were together 5 years and were happy(I'm absolutely devastated.) snd we also LIVE TOGETHER. however, I could go on about what's been going on in the relationship and how upset I have been, and him just going out and partying like nothing happened, but that's not why I'm typing this. So back to last week, we broke up and quit taking subo...

Can you take 50 mcg fentanyl with suboxone? Any replies from anyone please get back to me. Thanks. ## Hello, Baconbob! How are you? The active ingredients in Suboxone can also prevent Fentanyl from working as well, just as it does for other opiates, so you should mix them, unless your doctor has specifically told you it's okay to try it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Also, can I cut the patch in half?? ## Suboxone does not block fentanyl. Fentanyl is to strong and knocks the suboxone off the receptors, I have done this many times. Just have to be careful not to overdose. The...

I took a 12mg suboxone yesterday early am. When can I take my 25mg fentanyl patches?? ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? Usually, you need to wait about 3 days, due to the Suboxone blocking the action of other opiates, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Suboxone, subutex, nor any form of buprenorphine will block Fentanyl. Fentanyl has a higher affinity for opiate receptors. I know this because I am on Belbuca (was on subutex) for chronic pain. I've taken all forms of opiates that exist! I don't want to be on oxycodone or any othe...

i am on 100 mcg fentanyl patch every 48 and given the certain amount of waste each month with one or more galling off and whatnot i keep a couple suboxone from an old script on hand. how long should i wait to take a half an eight mg sub.??? thank you in advance ## To prevent them falling off, you might want to try using some waterproof medical tape to help keep them on, they also sell a clear sticky patch that can be used over them and it is fine to do so, unless your doctor has given you specific instructions not to. Learn more Fentanyl details here. Learn more Suboxone details here. As to the Suboxone, along with the narcotic Buprenorphine, it also contains Naloxone, which is used to help prevent the abuse of other opiates, while someone is under treatment with it, thus you have to be...

Suboxone Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine/naloxone, sold under the brand name Suboxone among others, is a fixed-dose combination medication that includes buprenorphine and naloxone.[2] It is used to treat opioid use disorder, and reduces the mortality of opioid use disorder by 50% (namely by reducing the risk of overdose on full-agonist opioids such as heroin or fentanyl).[2][4][5] It relieves cravings to use and withdrawal symptoms.[6] Bupr...

I've been taking suboxone for2 days now and I'm still sick. I was on fentanyl 75. Can I put back my patch to get rid of this withdrawal? ## I'm not a doctor but I would say if you've only been taking it a few days to stop taking the suboxone and get back on the fen patch. You may not feel it like you used too, bc Suboxone blocks the effects of euphoria from regular narcotics because its used a lot for people who are addicted to opiates, such as pain patches. I think you will have little to no withdrawal if you start back on the pain patch because the body stil recognizes the Suboxone as an opiate and the patch is obviously an opitate, too, just without the Naloxone and Bupernorine. Ithe patch should be fine to return to, just don't combine subs with the patches or yo...

I previously was dependent on opiate pain meds, then got put on suboxone and have now become dependent on that. I wanted to be completely off everything so I stopped taking the suboxone and have used a fentanyl patch for a week so I didn’t have horrible withdrawals. My question is, after the patch wears off would I still have withdrawal symptoms? Is the patch simply delaying the withdrawals? My thinking was I could use the patch for a week to completely get through the worst of the withdrawals and then I would be off everything. ## Please tell me you are joking?? That is like an alcoholic saying they are using tequila to get rid of the shakes from beer. You really need professional help to detox safely. I had to ask my doctor to help me get through the withdrawals and it took abou...

I was taking oxycodone about 90 mg a day and ran out. A friend gave me 3 fentanyl 50mg patches which I use for 5 days, I've been clean now for 54 hrs. Have had sweats and chills some leg cramps and restlessness. As well as diarrhea. About an hour ago I took apprx 1mg suboxone. I am very fearful of precipitated withdrawals. I feel no difference yet. Is it safe to take more suboxone? ## Hello, Storm! How are you? What did you end up doing? Before taking Suboxone, you need to be in full withdrawal from everything else, otherwise there is the risk of experiencing the dangerous precipitated withdrawals. Thus, you may have been taking it a bit too soon. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit f...

After taking 100mcg transdermal fentanyl patches, which I have been on for a few months. I was prescribed 2 8-2mg SuboxoneNaloxone, Insurance would only pay for the pill form. When I take Suboxone pill, It puts me into withdrawal. I was just wondering how long should I wait after taking the 100mg fentanyl transdermal patch, before taking my Suboxone pills? I'm hoping someone is out there that would be willing to help me out with this problem. Thanks, in advance, God Bless ## Hello, Emberlee! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you've experienced. You have to be in full withdrawal from the Fentanyl, before you can safely take Suboxone, or the precipitated withdrawals will keep occurring, as instructed by the NIH. There is no specific time frame, it can vary from p...

Ok..so I've been on Suboxone 8mg strips for 2 years. However, I've been only taking 4mg a day starting a week ago and have only taken 1mg the past 2 days. I have a fentanyl patch because, frankly, I'm tired of suffering with my ungodly back pain. My question is probably predictable, but given the low doses I've taken, if I use the patch tomorrow morning, will I feel the effect? If I do use it, tomorrow morning will be 24 hrs since my last dose of 1mg suboxone. ## Generally, it takes 72 hours for the Naloxone in the Suboxone to process, before you can take other opiates and have them be effective, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, s...

i going on suboxen and need to knnow when i start subs ## Hello, Mike! How are you? You actually need to be in full withdrawal, before taking Suboxone. It contains Buprenorphine coupled with Naloxone, which neutralizes other narcotics to prevent them being used, while someone is being treated with it, so taking it too soon could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. What instructions did your doctor provide? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How long have you been off of the Fentanyl?

Next week I have a appt. with a DR who prescribes Suboxone. I have been on Fentanyl patches for 8 years now.I am prescribed 150 mcg every 48 hrs. but still feel I am in partal withdrawal most of the time.Does anyone have a similar situation and how bad should the withdrawals be with Suboxone and Xanax if he will still allow them? Also will the suboxone still help with pain? I am scared about the withdrawls since I ran out for 1 day only and it was hell!! Any reply would be appreciated ## Randy,w/d's seemed to be very controllable with suboxone for me,but Im a pain patient once the weather hit below zero 4-6 weeks after sarting suboxone the pain kicked in.Iit was unbearable (worst time in my life) AND they made me stop my xanax. I also was able to just stop taking the suboxone after ...

I think it is a dam shame that there isn't concrete information about self detox.as far as morphine to suboxone my dr put me on oxy for a week and on subs after the week within a month I was off everything I started with a half of a strip of suboxone 2 weeks later a quarter and so on so maybe it was 6 weeks It's all about the money for pharmacy pain mgmt it's a shame but when you have chronic pain I guess your only option is to become an addict Find a good dr who will detox you I did detox but I'm back on pain Meds fetynal patch supposedly you build up a tolerance ## Unfortunately, there really isn't, and never will be, any definitive concrete self-detox instructions, because we are all different, so what works for one person, might not work for another. I have been addicted to 150mcg. of fentanyl patches. I'd like to know why suboxone is taking so long to make me feel like I can function again? Took it before to get off methadone and it worked great. I have been on 16mg of suboxone for 45 days but now I have no energy and feel like I was hit by a train. Is there anything I can do or take to function again? ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? You may not be on the right dose, yet. Suboxone can be dosed up to 32mgs a day. Have you informed your doctor of the problem, yet? I have chronic back pain from a sports injury several years ago. Since the suboxone tablets are being discontinued and my doctor cannot subscribe the medication for pain management any longer, he wants me to switch to fentanyl patches. My doctor is also unable to subscribe suboxone film which is replacing the tablets. How do you switch from suboxone to fentanyl patches, when suboxone blocks all opiates? Do you just stop one medication then start another one? Do you have to get off suboxone then start taking fentanyl? ## Yes, the Naloxone in the Suboxone can neutralize other opiates, so you'd have to stop taking it for several days, then start the new medication. Learn more Fentanyl details here. What type of doctor are you seeing? ## can I take suboxone and then fentynol a few hours...

I'm so aware of the returning withdrawal symptoms since I dropped down from 1/2 strip to 1/4 strip of Suboxone. Is it the closer you get to being done with the Subs the stronger the withdrawal symptoms occur? I've been on the 1/4 strip for 8 days now. I haven't been able to sleep, constant turning, weird leg feelings. I don't want to go up a 1/4 as I need off of it! I've been on this crap since end of Feb. when I was detoxed from Fentanyl 25 mcg and Percocet. These were prescribed, after numerous surgeries since 2005. How long will these symptoms of, hot flashes, sleep issues go on? I have to be off of this Subs for 5 days, in order to have oral surgery. It's so unpredictable and scary. Can anyone offer wisdom?? ## Hello, Sula! How are you doing? It usually takes...

I have been in Pain Management for 15 years. I have the usual round of diagnoses. Herniated discs at cervical, thoracic and lumber spine. Bone spurs through out. I have spinal cord compression in my neck. Pain. I just switched from 16mg of Exalgo (Dilaudid ER) with Fentanyl ir for breakthrough- back to 100mcg Fentanyl patches with 15mg Morphine 3x a day for breakthrough. I feel like a trapped rat. To the outside world I'm a professional woman, mother of 3 grown children. I'm no different from any other junkie though. I wanted to go into suboxone assisted substance abuse treatment. Then I found out that, for quite a while, you have to be at the program every day to pick up meds (and go to therapy/group). I'd lose my job! I can walk into Pain Management, ask for Suboxone and l...

I am prescribed fentanyl 25mcgs/hr. Sometimes I have trouble keeping the patch on. I had a couple fall off early this month and couldn't get my refill early. So I decided I would use Subxn to help if there was withdrawal. It worked good, but now it's time for me to stop and put back on my patch. I don't know how long I have to wait. I took 2mgs yesterday at 3pm. It's now 1pm. Is it too soon? ## You will be fine to take it, 2mg is a really low dosage- I take a-more than that. Suboxin is a opiate blocker- your patch may not seem as strong but I doubt it- If you take suboxin over a period of time 3days or more - then your patch would be a waste. That low of a dose will not effect that patch 2-day. But if you hadden take a 8mg gram suboxin- I would suggest wating 2days befor...

I took a 4mg suboxone film strip over 9 hours ago, when is it ok to put my 100MCG fentanol patch on? ## Hello, Jeskie! How are you?
