I have had a prescription for the fentanyl patches for servere back pain 25mcg/hr, I also take xodol 10-300 mg. The patch was so much trouble to use ( not staying stuck ) I stopped using them a few months ago. But recently the pain got so bad I decided to use a few that I had left over. Not thinking about them I had a routine urine test in my doctors office. Well the fetanyl showed up. The doctor understood that it was an unintenttional error on my part since I didn't have a current prescription for them. I thought since they were prescribed to me that I could still use them. I was on 200 mg of fentanyl every 72 hrs for one month and got a urine test 12 days later. It showed up in the results but I did not take anything except my ms contin. Why did this happen? They want to take away my meds. ## You're question is kind of confusing... You said you we're on 200mg for a month did you have a script for it or just for fun? There seams to be an unbelievable amount of misinformation going about Drug take about 12 hours to get into your system.a 25 patch is a relative low dose. If you are having all sorts if problems without it, for god sake call your dr. Patches usually have about 4 days worth drugs . If you are running out leave patch on for 4 days, and then you have 12 hours in you body that hasn't gotten to your blood system I have on a 100 patch and get a percocet every 4 hours: muscle relaxer and another pain medication every 8 hours, ## If you are having withdrawal symptoms after taking off a 12.5 patch, see a mental health specialist. I've been going to pain management for over six years now. The main doctor over all of his pain management centers got into trouble and decided to take everyone off of methadone and fentanyl. Well I was on 60mg a day for six years. They have been doing a medication rotation on me since then. This is the first month they took the last 30mg of methadone away from me. I am on 40mg of oxycontin three times a day and 15 mg of oxycodone three times a day for breakthrough pain. I'm sure I will have a urine done next month. I was on hydrocodone, xanax, soma and I was given a fentanyl patch 100mcg due to a fall. It damn near killed me. Because of sheer stupidity, I cut this patch and took a minuscule amount of the gel, evidently an extreme amount went into my system. My nurse at the time (I actually had a HH RN) was there 30 minutes after I took it, I was having chest pain, was very confused. And a ROOKIE paramedic gave me Morphine! 4mg IV push was added to the prior "recipe/concoction" and it through me in to SEVERE Respiratory Depression.
