Fentanyl 12

Ive recently being prescribed fentanyl patches to try out by my GP, the idea is to replace the ammount of tablets that i take each day. I'm worried as to when to start them as I am working solid over the next 7 days then i get two days off ? also I attend a pilates class to help with my spondalitis. I've been using the fentanyl patches for 4yrs now. Mostly Mylan brand (best out there). But the pharmacy switched to watson brand because of cheaper price. Here's the problem, for the last 5 months 6 patches out of 15 per month don't stick. They fall off within a couple of hours. Do you recommend some kind of cover tape that I can use? Pain clinic increased the fentanyl from 12 to 25 and now I finally back down to 12mcg. Took the patch off today (I'd rather have pain than fentanyl). I am still having skin crawling, restless legs symptoms with each step to decrese the dose. I want to be off this horrible drug and go back to work. How long will the symptoms last? Also, the fentanyl has made me very emotional, and decreased my mental alertness. I have been forgetful and can not evn remember the first few weeks I was put on the patch. Is this medication this awful for all or am I just a rare case? The medicain was prescribed by a PA when my ortho surgeon was out of town. My wife has really bad nausea. I would like to know if it is from the Dilaudid or Fentanyl or both. She is on 125 mcg/h Fentanyl per 72 hours and 4-8mg Dilaudid per day. LR ## I have a three year battle with severe abdominal pain which all started due to internal bleeding from a ruptured cyst. I have been on all sorts of pain medications. My son used Fentanyl patches for pain relief. Should I be concerned if the old patches were not taken off when the new patches were put on? It wasn't noticed for 12 hrs afterwards. ## Hello, Luke! How is your son? Has he shown any signs of possible overdose, which the U.S. FDA lists as possibly including vomiting, severe dizziness, severe drowsiness, somnolence, lowered heart rate and shallow breathing? This is a very potent opiate, so there could still be a risk, even though the prior patch was mostly used up.

W/D symptoms of Fenanyl can last for weeks. Are you having a problem with keeping them on, have they been falling off, is that why you are running short. my Dr has suggested that I cut Fentanyl 12.5 patches in half to reduce dosage and eventually stop using them, I have been using them for about three years/3.5yrs But I am confused as the leaflet says not to cut them. Been on Fentanyl 12.5 for 3 months. Also taking Tramadol 50mg/2 pills every 6 hours. Been getting hot flashes like crazy. 10-15 times a day. Have read that Fentanyl may cause this. I have been on Fentanyl for pain of cancer treatment side effects & have been reducing from 400mc & down to 25 mc without any side effects. After 48 hours of last dose I have been having involuntary leg movements, first on left for 12 hours. Had a little relief and upon eating and taking normal medication, I began vomiting and got involuntary leg movements on right side. Are these withdrawal symptoms? Do I need to go in to a doctor? I was on 180 mg of ms contin after tapering down from 300mg for 16 yrs. I wanted to try fentanyl patches so my Dr gave me 75 mcg patch. Wow I had absolutely no pain .....but after 55-60 hrs I would wake up sweats flip popping all over totally withdrawals then I talked to a friend, she's on 50 mcg. Im on morphine 20ml daily and fentonyl patches 100mg every 3 days I ran out of my pain relief last week n used subutex today. I can't seem to find a straight answer. I'm stopping the 12 mcg fentanyl patch (with Drs instructions). I have 7.5mg Percocet for withdrawal for a few days but everyone is leaving me believe my withdrawal won't be too bad. I called the pharmacist. She said withdrawal will last 48 hours. That seems too good to be true. I been on all types of opiates and in some cases really high doses. now I'm back down to a reasonable dose of pain meds long acting oxy an 15mg 4aday Roxy ir for breakthrough. I'm supposed to have it in my system around the clock so the oxy 12hr med is not working at all it seems to me. I'm not a junkie so I have not ever been on the Actiq any mcg fentanyl lollipops an I see ppl saying how 1pop can last them on an off for a day but I'd like to switch the 2 20mg oxycontin for an equal amount of the say 400mcg lollipops an the 4oxycodone 15mg that do help my pain an get me through my day. I've been on a 25mcg and 12mcg Fentanyl patch now for about 6 mos. I change them every 48 hours. I get 15 of each per month. Lately I've not been getting the pain relief I did in the beginning. I would like to titrate up to the 50mcg patch. I think that would make a big difference, but I don't want my pain dr. to think I'm abusing it. Is is too soon to move to a higher dose? I mean is there a general time period for titrating up? I've been on Fentanyl 25mcg every 48 hours for 3 1/2 years and want taper off. I'm finding it hard to stretch them to 72 hours, only made it to 60 hours. Also take 4-5 Norco 10/325. I'm wondering if it's possible to trim my Mylan patches to 2/3-3/4 in size to start tapering. I'm thinking of asking my pain management Dr to reduce dose to 12.5 at next appt in 2 weeks but want to start tapering ASAP. ## Hello, John! How are you? I started seeing a pm Dr after having major surgery on my shoulder 7 weeks ago. My surgeon listens to some gal in his office and had cut me from dilaudid down to hydrocodone leaving me in a lot of pain especially during 3x week therapy. The pm Dr put me on fentanyl patch 12 with nothing else. I had been taking 4-6 hydrocone 7.5 a day but now only have the patch. My husband is on a 12 mcg ratio-fentanyl patch every 3 days for pain management..I've noticed there is writing on the patch when I put it on him, & when I take it off, the writing is gone..I assume that's the way it's supposed to work.. The patches in the last box still had ALL the writing on them when I removed them, & he hasn't been feeling well for over a week or so..I opened a new box & it's doing the same thing- - writing still there..I plan to contact the company, but it's a holliday here, drugstore, doctor, all unavailable..Any ideas ?? I have been taking oxycontin, now since they changed the the formula i am up to 120x2 a day with a breakthough. It stinks i still have pain with the op kind. I tried 100mg patchs of fentanal.
