Feet Swell After Stopping Lisinopril

I have been out of lisinopril for a couple of weeks, and have noticed my feet are swelling up, and was wondering if not taking it could cause the swelling. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? I had been taking 2 tablets of Lisinopril 20 + 12.5 mg HCTZ for almost 20 years. I'm now 60 years old and since my BP is under control, I asked my doctor to take me off the HCTZ. It's been only a week now and I have noticed swelling in my feet and ankles along with a reddish rash. I previously had no side effects from the HCTZ other than dry mouth and skin and frequent urination. Does anyone know if gradually decreasing the amount of HCTZ rather than just stopping abruptly would be a better alternative or if I'm just destined to take HCTZ for the rest of my life? ## Your doctor just had you stop this medication abruptly?
