I just called my pharmacy to renew my Limbrel prescription, only to find out that the FDA has ordered US companies to cease distribution and immediately initiate a recall. What am I going to do now? I have been on Limbrel for 6 years to manage my osteoarthritis pain. Before that, I wore braces on my back, knees, ankles, arms and took an overabundance of NSAID's - and it really didn't relieve any pain. I was unable to enjoy any quality to my life. With Limbrel, I am able to work and have an active social/family life. Now I'm facing that old life again and I'm just wondering what I am going to do? Does anyone know what I can take or do? ## Apparently, the FDA has asked Primus Pharmaceuticals because of liver injury and lung infections due to the use of the drug. Maybe your...

For first few days mild headaches. Tolerating stress better. Bipolar ## Typically, side effects tend to reach their peak around 4 to 5 weeks of taking a medication at one steady dosage, then they taper off in severity, until they disappear entirely, so if you just started it, then it is far too soon to judge how well it is, or isn't going to work for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Geodon as possibly including nausea, headache, anxiety, weight gain, cough, and runny nose. Ref: Geodon Information How ...

My niece has been diagnosed as what they think is MS and this is what they prescribed her. When she messages me she sometimes makes no sense. Is that normal? She says she only takes 2 a day but also takes oxy ## Hello, Debbies! How is your niece doing? Dilaudid is another narcotic analgesic that is used to treat moderate to severe pain and yes, it may cause her to feel dizzy, drowsy and disoriented, as listed among the typical side effects by the FDA. Things should improve, once her body gets used to the medication, but that may take a month, or so. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am supposed to use twice a day (250/50 for COPD), but the cost, along with my other meds will put me in the Medicare "doughnut hole" within 3 short months. I am thinking of only using it once a day in spite of my doctor's recommendation. How will this reduced usage likely affect me ? ## Have you informed your doctor of the price issue? There may be an alternative that they can prescribe for you, or put your Advair as once a day and then a different medication for the other dosing. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

The sister gave me azithromycin. She said it's safe to use during pregnancy. Is it safe to take 4 tablets at the same time? I don't want to take any risks. Please help. ## The U.S. FDA considers Azithromycin to be safe during pregnancy, so you should follow the dosing instructions you were given. Its typical side effects may possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Hi, I stay in the US. I have used the tablet wikoryl and it workd best for me. I want to know the exact US equivalent of the tablet. I am giving the composition. 1) Paracetemol 500mg 2)Phenylpherine 5 3) Caffeine : 16mg 4) Chlorophenireamine Maleate: 2 mg ## There are several different formulations available in the US that carry these ingredients, over the counter. Both name brand and generics or store brands. The main issue, however, will be finding all 4 of them. The FDA doesn't tend to like the combining of Phenylephrine with Caffeine, since they can both have similar effects on the human body. Such as raising blood pressure and accelerating the heart rate. If you look on this page, you'll see a list of many different products available: However, they don't include the ca...

My mom has been taking extended-release morphine 30mg for about 6 years for chronic back pain from botched back surgery. The doctor recently added 15 mg immediate release. She has to take both of these 4 times a day. Is this too much morphine? Should we be concerned about overdose? ## Hello, Marilynn! How is your mom doing? It is off that the extended release would be prescribed to be taken 4 times a day, it usually only taken twice a day. As to whether or not its too much, that really depends on her and her opiate tolerance. The FDA warns that Morphine carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is she seeing a pain management specialist or just her PCP?

Where can I get this medicine in USA ## Hello, Sheri! How are you? The FDA lists this medication as containing Ketorolac and Tramadol. This combination is not available in the U.S. The FDA has never approved it for use here. This is an opioid analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you consulted your doctor? They could prescribe them both separately.

Is there any equivalant available in USA? If so kindly let me know the name of medicine in USA. ## Unfortunately, no. The U.S. FDA does not approve medications that combine anything that's actually considered a drug, with other items that are considered supplements, due to the risk of some people not understanding what they are taking, which creates an overdose risk. However, they are available separately, you can be prescribed Pregabalin by physician and then take the supplements, too. How are you? Not all damage may be immediately noticeable, some medications tend to cause problems very slowly and no one notices, until it's too late. There have been some cases of people developing peripheral neuropathy from long-term use of it, anywhere from 2 to 10 years, which means that they also took it for a long time, without any issues. Thus, if your doctor thinks you should stop taking it and switch to something else, then it would be best to follow their advice. I have been on Nitrofurantoin 100 mg every other day for many years. I have a history of a staghorn calculus and multiple urinary tract infections. I have not had any infections in the past 2 years. Should I just wait and if I get new symptoms then go to my PCP for new treatment and possibly restart? ## I can't say whether it is a good idea, since I am not a doctor, but it really sounds like you do need to be a long-term preventative. Mexico does not regulate their medications like the U.S., so I don't know if that is an expiration date, or if it is still effective for awhile after that. It would be best to see your dentist, so he can prescribe an antibiotic for you, if one is required. Additionally, even after taking an antibiotic, you'll need to have the underlying cause of the infection treated, or it will keep returning.
