I take 30mg of D-amphetamine a day. That day I also took zantac for heartburn and a antihistamine for allergies. My test came back positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. I have not used methamphetamine. ## What over the counter medications can cause a false positive urine test for methamphetamine? ## I recently had to give a urine sample for my 1st visit at a pain management clinic. Is it a street drug screen or just to make sure your taking your meds right? Also, I put water in my urine. Will Methamphetamine still show up on my test results? I dosed the day before my appt. & it was a mistake. I'm on a methadone program that gives urine tests once a week and this weekend I was finally going to have my take homes for coming up clean for 3 months. But today they told me I failed for methamphetamine and I've never used methamphetamine in my life! I'm currently prescribed Clonidine .1mgs 3 times per day, Xanax .25mgs 3 times a day, Trazodone 100mgs at night, and Wellbutrin 350mgs once every morning. Would any of these cause a false positive for methamphetamine? I'm desperate to find out what the issue is because this is the second time in the past 4 months. I really don't want this happen again after I finally get my take homes. I take random urine drug tests for dcbs and I took one the other day and it came up positive for methamphetamine and I haven't taken anything except for allergy pills (cetirizine 10mgs). However, my worker said that wouldn't cause a positive urine drug test. ## I took an allergy pill and I had a drug test for a new job so I'm wondering if the allergy pill is ok because the medicine contains cetirizine? My husband is in probation, has been doing random urine tests, and they did a hair follicle test that came back positive for methamphetamine. He has never had any drug but marijuana which he has been clean from for more than 6 months. What could have caused a positive test? He smokes cigars, and drinks red bull & monsters daily, and the super advanced whey protein. He drinks beer too. ## He also got a tetanus shot and was prescribed SMZ/TMP substitute for Bactrim. And took ibuprofen for cold.

I am attending a drug program cps referred me to. there was no court order. it was a referral. they do random drug tests and sometimes lab it. the other day they sent my urine to the lab. today they said they got a positive test for Methamphetamine. There is no way that could be right as I have not taken it for over 6 months. I am on no medication. I told them I will do a hair follicle test and I also wanted my urine to be tested again. what kind of test should I ask them for specifically? I just spoke with a pharmacist gave him a list of the meds I have been taking : morphine 30mg, diovan, hydrochlorothizide, valsartan, hydrocodone 10/325, bisopropolol, sudogest, pseudoephederine, aleve, pain reliever pm. He says none of these will cause false positive urine test results for methamphetamine although I keep testing positive and I have not used any of that stuff! Can you tell me why this is happening cause my po is going to throw me in jail. I really need help with this please ## Since you took sudafed, that could have caused it. Sudafed is used as an ingredient in methamphetamine. That's why you have to give them your ID just to buy it. Request a more detailed test, and it will show that an otc drug caused it to pop up as positive.

Can it cause a positive for methamphetamine in a urine test? Been taking amoxicillin 500 mg and it showed up for a trace of methamphetamine in a urine test. There is no way I should have been positive. ## I would like to know this same info because I have passed three tests and am being accused of consuming methamphetamine, showing a positive after I finished my prescription of antibiotics. I am prescribed to prozac, adderal, and ativan. I am also subject to random urine tests. Will any of these of the combanation of these cause me to give a false positive? ## Well, what are you tested for? Information I gathered states that Vyvanse is a prodrug for the chemical dextroamphetamine. Dextroamphetamine will cause a positive test for amphetamines, and in some drug tests methamphetamine. If I took a cyclobenzaprine 10 mg and a naproxen sodium 550mg 40 days ago will it show up in a urine test?
