False Positive On Drug Test For Meth Mg

I recently took a hair follicle test and it came back positive for meth. I've been clean since April 24, 2013. I was on Trazodone and Prozac until roughly July. My hair said I was positive with only 2100 points on the chart. Could it be from my meds? ## One of the great features of hair drug testing is that it is good at isolating the metabolite that for a particular drug which reduces the incidence of false positives. The number 2100 most likely means 2100 pico grams per milligrams or 2100 pg/mg. That appears to be low or recreational use. As far as the meds causing a false positive I doubt it. I took a generic medication called mucus relief PE sinus conjestion. 2 days after taking it i failed a drug test for meth. My son use to take meth, but has been clean for over 70 days. He takes 60 mg ritlian a day, 20 - 40 mg lasix a day, potassium each day. On days that he has a migraine headache he will take 2 Excedrin Migraine tables with a can of coke, and repeat it every 4 - 6 hours until the headache goes away. He is on probation so has to have two or three urine drug test a week. Some come back as dilute, so they give him lead way on them as he takes the lasix and drinks lost of water working outside all day. But once in a while when he has taken all his meds it come back positive. Ive been on the Methadon clinic 2 yrs.Now,no dirty urines,and one urine they said I came back pos for oxy.the only thing ive taken is otc benadryl and and 81 mg asprin.how can I be pos.for oxy, please help. ## What type of test was used, was it one of the instant read ones? I went to pain dr and tested positive for methadone. It's being sent to the lab. I did not take any methadone. Now I did take Xanax I was prescribed. I also take 30 mg Oxycodone. I had a false positive for amphetimine. I take tegretol, lithium, lamictyl, neurontin, geodon. wellbutrin, viibryd, zocor, synthroid, backlofin, klonipin. I tested positive for Methamphetamine after taking 250 mg of Nuvigil daily for 8 yrs. Also I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg and Abilify daily. Is this possible? ## As an veteran shrink and psychopharmacologist, I know Wellbutrin could do it and possibly Nuvigil. I always get the therapist's (some are MSWS; others are PhDs and MDs) for their take on the patient and I speak with him/her myself. I was on 85 mg of methadone daily for about two years. It wasn't helping my pain so I decided to quit with the methadone and started going to pain management. The last day I took methadone was May 6th, 24 days ago. Today when I went to see my pain Dr. My urine drug test was positive for methadone. The Dr said there is no way methadone can be in your system for 24 days. I haven't taken anything but the oxycodone this Dr prescribed to me. She said that's it's possible it's a false positive and that the lab results will be back in 8 days. I was recently given a urine drug screen, followed by confirmation testing which detected 7-aminoclonazepam (Klonopin metabolite). I do NOT take Klonopin, so how is this possible? I am currently taking Methadone 49 mg once daily for Fibromyalgia pain management, Xanax (alprazolam) 2 mg twice daily for anxiety, and Lopressor (metoprolol) 25 mg once daily for Sinus Tachycardia. Can it cause a positive for methamphetamine in a urine test? Been taking amoxicillin 500 mg and it showed up for a trace of methamphetamine in a urine test. There is no way I should have been positive. ## I would like to know this same info because I have passed three tests and am being accused of consuming methamphetamine, showing a positive after I finished my prescription of antibiotics. Tuff stuff! My pain management doctor changed me from 40 mg of oxycodone to 15 mg of methadone. I have a trimalleolar fractured ankle that can not have an ankle replacement as I am only age 40. All 4 Orthopedics can't decide on what type of surgery I should have, but they all agree that there's an infection, torn ligaments and tendons, etc. and that I'm going to hurt worse than what I am left with NOW after a car accident injury... All I have is drugs for pain. Routine drug testing has shown poppy seeds, morphine and heroin......WHICH I HAVE NEVER USED... Someone please explain this to me!!!!
