Does 15mg er (of X) mean that the blood level of drug X is maintained @ 15mg over 12hr or does it fluctuate significantly? ## Hello, JR! How are you? That means that it's a total of 15mgs that is released over the given time period, but it is released at a carefully calculated steady rate, as explained by the NIH. So, just a portion of the 15mg dose is released regularly. Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm on lo lo estrin fe for couple of years now. My periods completely stopped after a few months. Even though I know it's quite common among women taking that particular pill, I can't find any info on how healthy is it? Not to have any period for such an extended period of time. But the health on the long run what concerns me.I'm 25 now And I'm not planning to have any kids for the next 5-10 years. Will pill affect my ability to get pregnant when the right time comes? ## No, you shouldn't have anything to worry about according to the research and information that's available. How long does ER 60 mg morphine give pain relief per dose? ## Hi, Jane! How are you? These are designed to slowly release the medication over a period of 12 hours, so they are normally prescribed to be taken twice daily. However, some people do find that they don't get as much pain relief after about 10 hours, or so. Learn more MS Contin details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## how often should you take 60mg morphine tablets? Its been at least eleven hours so is it OK to take another one? ## I take 1 60mg @ 5am and again at 4-5pm of Morphine Sulfate ER. I am 57 years and taking Aten – 25 every day for last 10 years to control high blood pressure (BP). BP is under control now. Recently a doctor advised to replace it with MET XL Extended release 25 everyday. Please advise ## Hello, Mir! How are you? Did they say why they wanted you to switch? It could be just because you've been taking the other for such a long period of time. Our bodies do get used to anything we take regularly for long periods and sometimes, it is good to switch.

I was taking metformin er and when i got a new doctor the perscription was refilled as just metformin. What exactly does extended release mean and how it differs from non er. Thanks. ## The extended release tablets releases the medication over a 12 hour period, whereas the regular metformin releases all of the medication right away. ## i would like to agree what he said. extended release tablets has an extended action which release the drug in a slow rate so that u can get the benefit of taking two or three pills per day. with one tablet you will get the benefit of frequent administration. where as ordinary pills has a faster release which gives a quicker action and the frequency of administration also increases. ## Okay now I am scared, I have been taking metforminER 2000mg at nite for...

i have been taking 50mg of hyrdocodone per day for the last 6 months and it is not working for the pain anymore. I have ankolying spondylitus. My Dr has put me on 15mg morphine extended release 2x per day. I took 15mg about 3 hours ago and so far not relief. My questions is will this work for me as I was taking 50mg of hyrocodone per day. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? The ER Morphine is released slowly, over a period of 12 hours, it is not released all at once, like the Hydrocodone was, so you will not feel the same effect. There is also a change that this dosage isn't high enough for you. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Though, it is usually best to give it a week, or so, to see if things improve. The FDA warns that these medications carry the ri...

I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. I've been taking Propranolol 40mg tablets 3x a day. My doctor has switched me to 120mgs Propranolol extended release. Is there any difference other than one being instant and the other extended? ## Hello, Triss! How are you? No, that's it. The one was regular release and the ER is slowly released over the given time period. Time released medications can help give better blood pressure or cardiac control and increase medication compliance, since they don't have to be taken as often. Propranolol is a beta blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I have been taking mirapex for about 6 years for restless legs - just within the past week I was given samples of mirapex er - so far I have not been able to sleep for the second night in a row - legs are very jumpy ## Is it the same dosage as the one you have already been on? The ER stands for Extended Release, this means that the amount of medication in the tablet is slowly released over a certain period of time, rather than all at once. This means, that if they are the same dosage, you might not be getting enough of the medication, at once, to control your symptoms. Have you reported this to your doctor, yet? ## Mirapex ER is not approved for treatment of RLS.
