Batch number and expiry date for paracetamol manufactured in 2011 ## Pls confirm the expiry date of paracetamol tablet mfg in Oct 2013 ## Hello, Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a public way to look up medication by the batch number to verify such information. From what I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong), batch numbers are generally only used by the manufacturer to keep track of production...Once it hits the shelf batch numbers don't appear to have any use, unless there's a recall or something of that nature which pinpoints specific packages. Perhaps speaking with a pharmacist can add some clarity to this? Concerning the expiration of Paracetamol (also known as Acetaminophen or Tylenol), investing in a fresh product is always going to be your safest...

If you have the box or bottle that the tablets came in you can call the manufacturer and give them the batch number, from there they will be able to tell you the date that the medication will expire on. The only information I've been able to find is that it contains Paracetamol + Mahacef Plus; which is an antibiotic combination that contains Ofloxacin + Cefixime. In regards to the expiration date, I'm not sure how it works where you live, but in the U.S. prescription medications are required to have an expiration date of 1 year past the date that the medication is filled. They may still be ok to take after 1 year is up, but they will lose their potency. Some expired medications can actually be very dangerous. I've got 100x 50mg Tramadol capsules in foil blister packs, with an expiry date of Dec 2007. I was prescribed them years back for extremely painful broken bones in my foot. Last year I was knocked of my motorcycle and got a number of injuries that I'm still struggling with. For a few months I was prescribed 60mg Codeine, but now I'm just on 1200mg ibuprofen and 4000mg paracetamol daily, but it's nowhere near as effective as the codeine was. Doc won't prescribe codeine again as it's addictive .....so, here I am, in constant pain and I've found my old unused box of tramadol.
