Expired Clotrimazole Cream How Long Can You Use

Is it harmful to use expired clotrimazole cream for Serious Red Rash in Vagina with expiration date: November 2009 ? I would believe it is but my friend says NO....... ## Yes, you are correct and it shouldn't be used. Creams tend to degrade fairly fast and usually contain oils that can go rancid with time. Thus, trying to use one that's this old to treat a vaginal issue could just end up making the situation worse. It is best to use a new cream that is still fully potent and within its expiration date. Have a tube of Clotrimazole Beta. Dipro. cream, 1%. Don't know how long I've had it and can't interpret date code on end of tube. It is 669K 00T12 -- please tell me what the expiration date is. ## Look at the metal end of the tube and you will see the expiration date. You may need a magnifier. It is etched. ## Bob, can you see the manufacturer name on there anywhere? If so let me know, maybe it would be possible to contact them with that lot # and they could know the date based on that? And Jasmine's suggestion is probably right too, any luck with that? Interested to know either way. ## I posted the "Exp. date" etched on the end of the tube. But it's not a date! My question is, what does it translate into, datewise? Guess I'll have to query the mfr. ## Mf...

Can this cream be used for a yeast infection? ## I am experiencing a bad itch in my vagina and I have a tube of clotrimazole cream usp 1% but it expired two months ago. Is it still safe? ## RE: clotrimazole/betameth cream - Can I use it inside my vagina for dryness or yeast? ## I started using Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream 10 days ago for itching and burning in the groin area. How long will this condition take to heal with this cream? ## DO NOT USE INSIDE YOUR VAGINA! It clearly says that on my tube (no vagina). Not nose, mouth or eyes either. Use twice a day at the same schedule. Not longer than five days in a row and definitely not longer than 4 weeks!!!

The expiration date shown on my Clotrimazole vaginal gel is July 2017. So, is it possible to use it in July or should it be used before July? ## It does not become dangerous, once expired, but it may start to lose efficacy, and in most cases, the FDA means it should be used by the end of the month, though checking with your pharmacist may be a good idea to be certain. Its typical side effects as listed as possibly including spotting, irritation, itching, and discharge. Is there anything else I can help with?
