After knee replacement I had one blood clot and was prescribed Warfarin. No problems except nuisance of regular INR. Changed to Eliquis 2.5 mg twice daily. After a week or so I noticed excessive bleeding from small scratches, blood spots on handkerchief, dark brown urine and then PANIC -JET BLACK faeces. Dr said stop eliquis! I stopped and after 3 weeks, no more bleeding. Any ideas on whether I need this stuff? I am 86 and otherwise pretty healthy. I have had 2 short episodes of AF in my lifetime and Eliquis prescribed for this to prevent stroke, but I think E could cause a stroke with a bleed in the brain ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions and not everyone needs to take such medications for the rest of their lives, according to NIH reports. Is this medicine taken to stop post pregnancy bleeding or incase of heavy regular bleeding during periods? ## Based on my research, GYNAE-C.V.P. contains the following ingredients: calcium lactate (300 mg) + ferrous gluconate (67 mg) + menadione (0.66 mg) + citrus bioflavonoids (150 mg) + vitamin C (75 mg). Apparently this medication/supplement is listed as a preventative and therapeutic measure against Post-partum bleeding; but also has a number of other uses relating to pregnancy as well. Has your doctor run any tests? When was your last pap smear? Are you on any other medications?

Started in Nov last year using Nur istate . Haven't gain weight. Just removed implant due to excessive bleeding . And lost a lot of weight really want to gain this time around. Hoping 2months injection might help me,do both prevent and gain weight but seems nothing is happening. Or is it too soon. ## There is no guarantee that you will gain weight using it, though that can be a side effect of this hormonal contraceptive. It is also only a temporary side effect, so if someone does gain weight while taking it, they will most likely lose it, once they stop using it. The NIH also lists other side effects as possibly including headache, irregular periods, and mood changes. Are there any questions I can help with?

I have irregular and excessive periods. I took Pause MF continuously for 4-5 months. Doctors diagnosed that the Endometrium thickness is 20 mm and gone for a D & C. Again for excessive bleeding I have to take Pause MF. I'm worried that it may lead to Endometrium thickness again. Is it so?? ## Pause-MF contains the active ingredients Tranexamic Acid and Mefenamic Acid, it is used to help control or prevent excessive bleeding. And no, I am not finding anything listed about it causing this problem, but have you discussed it with your doctor? They'd be the ones best able to advise you regarding this matter. ## Yeah, I discussed with my doctor. They say the thickness is not due to PauseMF and I can continue that for years nothing will happen. And for harmore imbalance they sugges...

I am bleeding heavy can I but tranexmic over counter if so where ? ## Hello, Alicia! How are you doing? Did the bleeding stop, yet? No, it is not available over the counter in the U.S. Additionally, it will not correct whatever hormonal imbalance may be causing the excessive bleeding. Have you consulted your doctor? Do you take any medications regularly?

I had a hysterectomy a couple weeks ago and a week later had a blood clot in my right calf. I was prescribed Xarelto 2x 20mg a day. Two days later I had excessive abdominal bleeding. Was told to take only 1 pill for the next 24 hours, the bleeding didn't stop and I was told to stop taking altogether. After 24 hours no bleeding so I was told to start back up (this was just a couple hours ago). As of yesterday I have an intermittent shooting pain in my left upper leg, when it hits me the pain is so strong I almost fall to the ground...then it goes away. I have also gained 4 pounds since I started taking it. I hardly eat as I'm still on paid meds from my surgery so it sounds like this may be a side effect as well. Anything on this horrible leg pain I am suddenly having? It hasn...

how does tranexamic affect menstruation ? does it hamper the flow? ## i want to know what are the contra indication for tranexamic? ## Tranexamic Acid, to put it simply, helps your clotting factor, to help stop excessive bleeding. It is used to treat various conditions, such as heavy menstrual bleeding, hemophilia and surgical wounds. You can read more about it here: I can't find any contraindications lists, so please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any concerns and make sure they know all other medications you are taking. Is there anything else I can help you with?

my doctor prescribed trapic tablet, since i usually have excess bleeding during my periods and now i am going to plan for pregnancy so i just want to know if i can continue using this trapic tablet? ## I am having my period for 23 days.for 1st 7 days it was very less now it is increasing.Ihave taken trapic, zincore, regestrone in the morning but still there is no change. What should i do now? ## Trapic contains the active ingredients Etamsylate and Tranxemic Acid, it is used to help stop excessive bleeding. To the original poster, I have no information on that, your best bet would be to consult your doctor. However, there should be no need of the medication during pregnancy, when you finally are. Anu, have you returned to your doctor? this site is not medical professionals, so we could no...

Hi, I am concerned. I had a baby 2. & 1/2 months ago and was cleared by my OBGYN to begin birth control. I asked to be placed on Ortho Lo but apparently Sprintec is the new generic available. Anyways, I've been on it 3weeks now and began my period last week (2weeks early) the bleeding on this pill is excessive. On top of that I have been having huge clots (last night 5 and 1 this morning). I am concerned. Is this normal?? Regardless, I didn't take my pill last night. I am planning on stopping these pills because the bloating and stomach cramps are too much for me. I am very concerned about the bleeding though..is this normal or should I be getting ready to go to the ER? ## That can occur, when you're new to taking an oral contraceptive, as reported by the FDA.
