Are expired ferrous sulphate pills safe to take? They expired in 08. ## When it comes to drugs/medication I think it is best to not take any chances with the past expiration date. They MAY still be ok to take if they haven't been exposed to a high amount of heat or various other conditions outside of the bottle, however I am not a pharmacist or MD, so I cannot guarantee if it is in fact safe for you to consume. There is still a high likelihood that it lost some of its potency and may be ineffective to the point where it could harm your body by not doing it's job all the way, per say. I would recommend contacting your local pharmacy or doctor to assess if the quality of the drug still remains. They may have certain tools or methods for measuring this sort of thing. I've searched all over Google and haven't found the answer to what this pill is. I found it on my friends floor. It's a white oblong pill with black letters on one side that say EX-IB. It's not serrated. ## I found one of those too! I've been searching online for what it is, but I'm coming up with nothing.

Can I still take flaxseed tablets which expired eight months ago.I did keep it in the fridge.Thanks ## These over the counter supplements aren't tested for safety like prescription drugs are, so there's really no way of knowing if it's safe or not. small round white ## What’s a small round pill marked 485 on one side blank on other ## Hello, I wasn't able to find anything that exactly matches your description but I was able to find a Claritin 10mg pill that has a 458 imprint but from the description the NIH gives it should also have the word Claritin on it somewhere. Is it possible that the pill is worn and that the word Claritin is somewhere on the opposite side? Here is a picture of what the Claritin pill looks like, it's so light and the imprint is already hard to read as is that's why I'm asking. Is this the pill that you are referring to?

I got a new blood pressure medication today. The pharmacy did not put child proof caps on my medicine like I have requested the last 6 years. Well, half of my Labetalol 100 mg spilled on the floor. While I'm having trouble finding any identification for this particular tablet, I can tell you that it is an over the counter product. All tablets that use a 44 on them, followed by 3 additional numbers are over the counter products, this company doesn't manufacture any prescription medications. Prednisone for my cat. Can prednisone 5 mg for humans be substituted for the cat since medications are running low? ## Prednisone will kill cats. It's for dogs only according to my vet. The one for cats is called Prednisolone 5 mg. ## In veterinary manuals, it is warned this it should be avoided in pregnant cats, and kittens, but it can be used in adult cats, if your vet approves. There are risks associated with giving any medication to you pet, just like there are with people, but both Prednisolone and Prednisone can be used in cats and dogs. However, your vet really has the final say on that, so I would suggest asking them, just to be careful. Your cat may not need a longer course of it, or they may want to explore a different treatment option. How is your cat doing?

Please help, its small pink one side says AS LABS other side says 50, what are there please ## Hi Jody, I ran a few google searches and the only information that pops up (regarding a pill like the one you've described), is about a "pink magic" diet pill by USP labs. I can't find any information about AS LABS. This leads me to believe that the pill you have may not be a prescription medication, but could likely be an illicit drug. It could however, be a medication manufactured outside the United States or possibly an over the counter product, but it has been difficult to verify 100%. Would the pills still work if they are expired. I have some that expired about like 8 months ago. Will they still have the same effect? ## @lulu, From what I can tell, there don't appear to be any specific details on the shelf life of Yeduc (Sibutramine) listed online; and my guess is that it's probably because Sibutramine was banned due to it causing an increased risk of serious heart/cardiovascular related side effects. So in that aspect I wouldn't necessarily consider it to be safe whether it's supposed to be expired or not... but 8 months isn't a really long time either if you kept it stored in a cool, dark, dry place. Most medications (with the exception of certain antibiotics) are actually still good for many years after the expiration date.
