Hi. I have a really bad toothache. I took one i10 pill about three hours ago, but the pain is still killing me. Can I take another one? ## No, it would be best to not take more than prescribed, or to take it more often than you've been instructed by your doctor. The FDA warns that taking too much of can increase your risk of experiencing stomach ulceration, bleeding, liver damage, and hypertension. Have you visited your dentist, yet? They will be the best person to consult on what can be done to rectify this issue. ## I have a severe toothache and have been taking ibuprofen 800mg 3 to 4 times a day, for two days so far. Is this harmful? Is prescription ibuprofen considered an antibiotic? ## It’s the recommended dose but if your toothache is really bad I would go to a dentist t...

fairly big round orange coated pill (white inside) that says apo 400 on it ## The only match I am finding is described as pink by the manufacturer, but colors are subjective, it is coated and white inside. It contains 400mgs of Pentoxifylline, a generic for Trental, it is an anticoagulant from Canada. Is it safe to take ibuprofen that expired 3 years ago? What are the pros or cons? That’s all I have to ask. ## It doesn't become dangerous, but it may have lost some efficacy, according to FDA warnings, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. Overall, it usually best to dispose of expired medications, and purchase a new supply. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? Specifically, regarding your question, it might be milder than it originally was so that's a pro, but it might not work as well as you need, which could be a con. You should also take into consideration any other medications you are on, and if your doctor ...

Found pills that are oval shaped that are marked with 136, they are bluish / green close to the same color as Nyquil, maybe a little lighter. lettering is white printed on one side only. No other markings, does anyone know what they may be? Thanks for any help at all. ## Given this description, I am inclined to suspect that they are something that's available over the counter. That would also explain why I've been unable to find it listed in any databases. Does anyone recognize these? I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. There are some 200mg Ibuprofen liquid gels available as generics for Advil or Motrin, so this might be one of those. What is a long dark green pill that says 255 on it? ## Closest match I could find is LL 255 Green capsule shaped pill which is hyoscyamine .375 mg extended release. This pill is used for IBS, Crohn's, and incontinence. The active ingredient (hyoscyamine) is sometimes used for anesthesia or premedication for endoscopy/radiology. Not sure if it's the same as what you're asking about. If there is no LL on it, it may be a pill manufactured in another country.

I have a brand new bottle Advil (ibuprofen) unopened with the seal still intact with an expiration date of may 2010 are they still good? ## @Jackie, There's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. I don't know whether or not the drug you have happens to ...
