3 Topics FoundIt has been prescribed one tbs per day of Etova-ER 400 at night for my wife to treat knee pain.Is it safe to continue this drug for a long period. ## Etova-ER contains a time released formulation of Etodolac, it's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Common side effects may include: nausea, diIzziness, headache and stomach irritation. There can be some issues from long-term use, such as ulcers and elevated blood pressure, which she should discuss with her doctor. Are there any other questions? ## I am 71 yrs old,healthy, no problems, no side effects. I fractured my 7th &8th rib in Feb,Xray shows healed,pain persists only while lying down. My mother is 7O yrs old, she has been taking Etova for arthritis, but now her creatinine level is high. Should she stop this medication? ## That could signify a developing kidney problem. This medication is a NSAID and they usually have more of an effect on the liver, rather than the kidneys. Has she consulted her doctor? Have they told her to stop taking it? ## What are the side effects of Etova 400 ## Does Etova 400 elevate creatinine levels?
