My 65 pound ate one. 5mg estradiol will it hurt het ## Dear cheese, I would call the Vet, right away. ## @Cheese, Sorry to hear about your dog getting ahold of birth control. I'd imagine that must've been an awkward experience wondering how the dog might react in that moment lol. Although I see you posted this back in May, earlier this year. Do you have any feedback on the status of your dog now? To summarize my own investigation/research on the topic, the levels of toxicity for estrogen are not often reached via the ingestion of contraceptive pills, and is reported to be at dosages greater than 1 mg/kg of body weight. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but this means that a 25lb dog would need to consume quite a few of these pills for a toxic effect. So if I understand tha...

Is Estradiol made by Barr gluten free? ## Hello, Pam! How are you? What are the markings on it? I'm sorry, but without this information, I can't check the inactive ingredients for you. Sometimes what's listed by the pharmacy is just a licensed distributor, not the actual manufacturer. Can you please post back with this additional information? Thanks! The FDA classifies this as a hormonal supplement and lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS like symptoms. ## I have the same medication question. Light purple oval shaped with B on front and 886 1 on back. ## I have been feeling like I was "glutened" after only taking 2 doses

I have been taking this pill for about 10 yrs. I refilled my prescription and suddenly I am experiencing hot flashes and sleeping problems (laying awake for hours). Costco says it is the same manufacturer as before (Watson). I am wondering if "bad batches" have been reported lately. My last refill prior to this one was 90 days ago and I had no problems with that refill. My pharmacist says there is no reason and they have not had anyone complain. Are there any recent complaints regarding this manufacturer? ## Hello, Cher! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. No, I've not read any reports of such. However, after 10 years, it could be that it just isn't working for you in this dosage, anymore. Our bodies do tend to get used to anything we take fo...

I have been taking these pills for exactly 21 days, I have not had a period in about a year, and have not taken birth control pills for over 21 years. It was prescribed for menopause symptoms. This morning I woke up with cramps and bleeding. Is this normal? ## Yes, these are synthetic hormones, the estradiol is a form of estrogen and the norethindrone is a progestin, which is a synthetic progesterone, so the rebalancing of your body's hormones can cause those types of side effects. You actually may not have been completely menopausal, even though you hadn't menstruated in a year or so, you may have just been low in hormones and on the verge of full menopause. If you were experiencing menopausal symptoms, then it is most likely that you were still producing some estrogens, but no...

Hi, i have recently been prescribed norgestimate eth-estradiol and i have never taken BCP, so i am confused about when to start because its already been 10 days after my last period. ## You can start them at any time, however, if they aren't started on the first day of your menstrual cycle, then you will need to use additional protection for the first 7 days, before they will become effective at preventing pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm taking Tri-Linyah (ethinyl estradiol + norgestimate). Do I continue to take the inactive pills after my period has started?

Hi. I've been taking Estradiol 10mg internally twice a week for three and half months now. It's helped with vaginal dryness and feeling a bit down and night sweats, but at the same time I had three blood tests done for my hormone levels at three different times. I'm on my cycle and they all came back as normal, but still I felt better taking this. However, in the last 6 weeks I've been having horrific anaphylactic reactions to foods I would normally eat and have found out that I'm allergic to most things like wheat, yeast, beef, diary and eggs and peanuts! Which I've always eaten without issues, I'm taking three priritize a day and waiting to be seen at Cambridge allergy hospital in October. I'm also suffering from a swollen throat, like raised glands and...

i am about to switch from Avaine 28 to microgestin Fe 1/20 . I really like the Avaine and have gotten used to it but no longer have insurance and are able to get the BC from planned parenthood. Im wondering if this will be a good replacement and what should i expect from switching? ## Well, the Microgestin contains Norethindrone and Ethinyl Estradiol, where in place of the former the Aviane contained Levonorgestrel. They work the same, but it really depends on your body and how it reacts to these specific hormones. In my case, I had a lot of problems with ones that contained Norethindrone, I experienced a lot more breakthrough bleeding, acne and vaginal dryness. Once I was switched to one with the Levonorgestrel, I didn't experience those problems any longer, so you may want to watc...
