white capsule ## i have been on espiride for 11 weeks for lactation. is mass gain a side effect? i want to go off it now, from 3 times a day - do i have to wean myself off them? ## Sorry, I cannot find any information on Espiride. Is it something from outside the U.S., over the counter, or a U.S. prescription medication? ## I have been prescribed Espiride by one medical practitioner and again NUZAN by another. I did not take the Espririe but the side effects of NUZAN do not go well with me. I have been for Homeopathy treatment and they suggest that these are anti depressants. It appears I am suffering from severe anxiety but I am being prescribed anti depressants which makes me feel worse.Any views or advice?

I've been given espiride 50mg to take for two weeks and then as needed while the lilly something (generic is Nuzak) kicks in. But I wasn't told when to take it. The pharmacist was adamant that it would knock me out, but I see here that people are taking it twice a day and seem to still be awake. Can I take it in the morning? ## Hello, Jenn! How are you? I couldn't find a lot of information about the side effects of overdose, but this is what I have found: "Sulpiride has a relatively low order of acute toxicity. Substantial amounts may cause severe but reversible dystonic crises with torticollis, protrusion of the tongue, and/or trismus. In some cases all the classical symptoms typical of severe Parkinson's Disease may be noted; in others, over-sedation/coma may occur." I used espiride for a year while breastfeeding, not realizing it is a antideppresant. That was in 2011. A few months ago my dr prescribed lexamil to me for chronic tired syndrome? I have gained 7kg in six months? Is espiride and lexamil more or less the same? I would rather use espiride? ## Hello, Es! How are you? I am a 72 year old female and have been taking 1 Espiride 50mg tablet per day for 2 months and feel wonderful on them. The only hitch is that my breasts have enlarged and are very heavy. I've been taking 100mg espiride every day now for 4 months after a dramatic incident at a shopping centre where my handbag was stolen. It really helps to calm me down but have gained, 10kg since. How do I go of this,without any side affects. ## There is a risk of side effects and withdrawal effects, anytime you start and stop taking a medication. The NIH lists the withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, anxiety, and rebound depression. It would be best not to stop it, without your doctor's approval and assistance. Are you on any other medications?

can this also cause water retention - swollen ankles...?? ## No, it isn't listed as being a common side effect. However, it's difficult to say how any medication will affect any person that takes it. But, do you have high blood pressure? Do you drink a lot of fluids and/or take in a lot of sodium? There are many things that may cause edema. Do you take any other medications?

i have been on Espiride for 14 days exactly today and i am taking 2x 50mg capsuals a day. this is for the treatment of depression. this afternoon, my breasts started leaking. i am very worried about this, as i am only 21 and very sure i am not pregnant. is this a normal side effect? pretty concerned and freaked out ## Have you consulted your doctor? This contains the active ingredient Sulpiride, which is am antipsychotic medication and breast leakage usually only occurs at high dosages, so this might be too high of a dosage for you. I take espiride 50mg in the mornings. I tried it once at night and somehow seemed to give me heart pulpitations so took in the morning. Am I suppose t take it at night? Also does it interfere with your menstrual cycle and does it cause headaches?

The effects were quite significant - i was always tired, even after sleeping for 8 - 12 hrs; i was always grumpy; i forget many things; long & short term, i stopped having my period after 2 yrs & didn't have them for 3 yrs. We are desperately TTC. The last 3 pregnancy have ended in miscarriage last one resulting in d and c. Had a very weird period, pos tests the neg then pos pregnancy test. Period started, 7 days late, very scant and dark. Lasted 2 days.followed by discharge tinged with blood for about 4. Went to see dr today, as pelvic area is sore, went for scan, have one small 2.5 cm cyst on ovary and fibroids. Nothing huge. he put sore pelvic area down to a colon spasms.
