What are the side effects of Eptoin 300 ER ? My Sister was advised to take this in stead of 3 regular Eptoin 100 Mg. Is there any additional advantage ? ## Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin, it is an anti-epileptic, used to help prevent seizures. why only eptoin 100mg tablet is adviced for fits ? My age 23 years, male, 6 events since 2003 frequency now after every 6 months. all reports are normal as EEG , CT SCAN OF BRAIN ETC. My wife now aged 65, was operated for brain haemorrhage on 1st May 2016, slightly more than 1 year ago. The brain haemorrhage had started after she had accidentally hit the water tap in the bathroom, when getting up from cleaning the floor. After severe headache indicated something very serious, she was examined and operated in Fortis Hospital, Kalyan, India. The operation has been a success. Presently, she takes one tab of Eptoin 100 in the morning, after breakfast and one tab in the night after dinner. No other medicines except one tab of multivitamin tablet ' Becosule ' at night. She is basically fine except that she is more irritable than in the past. At times her left leg aches. What should we do now ? Reduce the dosage ? and how ? You are on normal dosages of it, in the U.S. it is used in amounts as high as 600mgs per dosage. Eptoin contains the active ingredient Phenytoin. Did his doctor give you any instructions? Usually this results in their lowering his dosage or even discontinuing the medication for a few days and then retesting. This is even done when it is used as a mood stabilizer, to prevent the toxic levels from occurring, because they can lead to serious health problems. ## Doctor Advise him to reduce the eptoin 100 mg thrice to twice, and also warn to take well care of him, may be he will face one or two attacks within a week. Hello Doctor, I m epileptic pateint from last 3 years, I had an history of seizure 9 years back when after regular dosage as provided by doctor i was declared fit, For normally working for 3 years after that i again started with seizures n now i m on a treatment again having Eptoin 300 (1 every Night) And levecon 300 twice ( Morning / Night). But over the periods of last few months i have noticed shaking of my hands while working / or sitting idle. Rest Body parts are okay But this Hand shaking ( Tremor - i guess wht it is called) is giving a lot of tension to me. I am working man n mostly staying out of india. Could you advice the reason for these seizures and Shaking of hands. I m married n planning for kids, will this problem of mine will give any harm to my childrens at later stage.

I am having epilepsy for about 4 years, i took only 0 - 0 - 300mg eptoin till last 6 months and now I am taking 10mg clobazam,500mg levipil - 0 - 300mg eptoin,10mg clobazam,500mg levipil a day, after an attack due to lack of sleep. I had a attack of epilepsy@ 8 years back. Earlier i was taking eptoin and now i am taking trioptal 300, 2.5 tabs/day. since last 5 years. My major concern is lack of concentration and memory loss. I um unable to recall major events happened in recent past. i also tend to forget roads,persons travelled/met recently Some times i get blank and talks incoherently.
