I'm talking Megestrol Acetate 40mg twice a day. Started December 23. My feet feel tingly and on February 10 my lower back and my right and left side hurts plus my stomach hurt off and on I feel bloated like I have my period. Started lightly spotting on February 19 after an ultra sound. The doctor told me to try a couple more weeks and then if I'm not feeling better she will refer me to a specialist. I not feeling good. ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? Has there been any improvement? This is a hormone, so such side effects have been known to happen, when taking it, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience headache and mood swings. ## In case you're not familiar with your condition, it's where you uterus builds up too many cells. It's usually caused by your body ...

I was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia stage 3 - stage 4 is cancer. I had a D&C around november by gynecologist and was referred to robotic oncologist who prescribed the Megestrol. Since I am morbid obese, I did not know about the weight gain with the megestrol and have gained about 20 lbs in two months to my surprise; so when requesting a refill, i was told by pharmacist these tablets were for people who have trouble eating (not for cancer treatment as I was told by robotic oncologist). The oncologist is planning a hysterectomy around June 2015 because he wants me to loose as much weight as possible from a proposed bariatric surgery because the OR table has to be slanted in a certain position which makes my weight press on my chest making breathing hard for me. I do not know ...

I was given Megestrol Acetate for endometrial hyperplasia. The doctor said it would thin the uterine lining, but I haven't started a period since being on it. How does it thin the lining if i don't bleed? Or should I be bleeding? ## I was wondering the same thing. They told me that I shouldn't have a period and I haven't I spotted a little that's all. But I rarely had periods before I started megestrol. I have thicken endometium was 2.5cm after a month of taking the meds I'm at 3.5 so back to the doc I go. Wondering if anyone has had megestrol not work ? ## Megestrol contains a synthetic form of the hormone Progesterone, which is vital to a woman's healthy menstrual cycle. Each month, a woman will typically experience a large bolus of progesterone being relea...

I have been in menopause for 2 years and recently had severe pain and some bleeding. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts, endometrial hyperplasia and a small fibroid tumor. I have been taking this for about 2 weeks now and started bleeding again. The gyno office hasn't returned my calls-is this normal? ## This is a hormone, so yes, it could cause some spotting or bleeding. However, you should have this checked out, as soon as you can, to be sure. But with everything you've got going it, it's most likely not to be unexpected, the fibroids are very well know to cause bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take evion 200mg for regulating my menstrual cycle ? ## nope!! you can take them just for 15 days but not more than that!! Because more dose may lead to endometrial thickening and this may cause bleeding in between menstrual periods!! Long term usage may lead to endometrial hyperplasia which ultimately lead to cancer of uterus!! so if you wanna take; have them for 15 days just regularly if you don't have anyother medical problem!! ?? Editor's note: this message has been deemed inaccurate. ## These are just vitamin E supplements, so they will not help regulate your periods, or do anything else, nor will they cause endometrial thickening, cancer, or etc. The worse they cause is some nausea, according to the NIH, due to their potency. Has your doctor instructed you to take th...

Hi I Am A 40 Years Lady Living In Los Angeles Ca. After My Last Period, Two Weeks Later, my period Came Early Now Like Almost 3 Week I am in period. Which Medicine do I have to take it, or what shoud I do? ## Hi farvita, Based on my research, changes in bleeding pattern and periods could 'suggest' hormonal derangement (unbalanced hormones), uterine problems, endometrial hyperplasia, ovarian issues etc. Since I don't know the underlying cause of this yet, you may want to consider reporting to your gynecologist to have a thorough evaluation done to rule out any serious issues behind the abnormal cycle. An early diagnosis and treatment would also help in preventing any further complications. In the event that it's simply hormonal imbalances, you're gynecologist may just...

Is it possible to get a prescription for Metforman/glucophage online or to find it online? I am worried, because I have been gaining weight rapidly this past year. I am morbidly obese, and my doctors will not help me because my A1c was only 5.5. I am worried about type 2 diabetes, and I think my A1c is high enough that medicine may benefit me, even though I am technically not diabetic yet. I have read about diabetics who get their A1c below 5.5 with metformin, and there seem to be no adverse affects even when they continue taking the medicine at these levels. I am also having problems with ovulation and was recently diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia, a condition associated with insulin resistance. I have been struggling to conceive for three years now. Ultrasound shows no evidence ...
