a leveler for blood pressure ## Enalapril is an ACE inhibitor that is used to help lower blood pressure, certain cardiac conditions, and to improve heart function. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. However, there is no such thing as a blood pressure leveler. Your blood pressure will never hit one steady number, and stay there. It is always going to fluctuate, depending on what you've eaten, your activity levels, other medications you take, and etc. How is it working for you?

Been on 20mg/day of Enalapril. Then resently given a 0.2mg Clonidine patch. My blood pressure went "way" down. Should Dr. have checked first before giving me the Clonidine patch? Have stopped Enalapril while on "withdrawls" (pain med). ## What are you asking about him checking? Your blood pressure? Did the doctor tell you to stop the Enalapril? Because suddenly stopping it could cause a rebound effect, which might result in severely elevated blood pressure. ## Thanks for the reply. However, you didn't read my question fully. No, I'm not asking to have my BP checked! Should he be giving me Clonidine when I'm using Enalapril?? What effect will BOTH have?

I've taking Enalapril 20 mg nightly for over eighteen month. Suddenly I've noticed pounding heart at night, an d chest pains developed to the point I went ER. After a day admission and a bunch of testing they cleared me of problem. Came home have my prescribed dosis and the symptoms returned. Any thoughts of experiences with Enalapril, please? ## HI, sorry about the issues you're having. That's terrible. And yes, it could be an adverse reaction to the Enalapril. Technically, it should help with such issues, but most medications are capable of causing the opposite of their intended effect in some people that try them. However, another question is, do you regularly monitor your blood pressure? What was it when you went to the ER? The symptoms could also be caused by your b...

I ran out of lisinopril, 20 mg, i have really bad headach can i take 10mg enalapril, dr and pharmacy closed now. ## Hello, Diane! How are you? How long have you been out? What do you take it to treat? These are most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and if you have just run out and only missed one dose, it shouldn't be high enough to cause a headache, but if it is, you need to seek emergency medical attention.

Can I cut pill in half if needed? What body effects will I feel? ## Hello, Cat! How are you? As long as your doctor approves, you can cut or break any tablet that isn't time released, as long as the label doesn't specifically tell you not to do so. As to effects, it may cause some rebound effects, such as headaches, elevated heart rate and blood pressure, as reported by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

i am taking isoptin sr 120 mg{verapamil} for bradycardia and hypertension, but sometimes my bp is still high, can i take 2.5 mg of enalapril together to control the bp or is it harming ## They can be taken together and are sometimes prescribed together, when someone's blood pressure is very high and their doctor needs to bring it down fast. However, only your doctor can say if it is the right medication for you to try. How high is your blood pressure? Do you watch the fat and salt in your diet? As reported by the NIH, both can contribute to high blood pressure, in some people. The FDA lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

The dr. changed my bp meds. from 20mgs of enalapril twice daily to 20 mgs lisinopril once a day. I'm afraid this is not strong enough to take my bp down. BP runs around 169/90. Had a brain stem stroke 3 yrs ago. ## Actually, Lisinopril is known to be stronger and have more beneficial effect than Enalapril, so it is normal to be given a lower dosage of it. Learn more Lisinopril details here. As to your blood pressure numbers, what else do you to do to lower them? Do you get lots of exercise and make sure not to eat a lot of sodium? ## Yes I'm on a low sodium diet. As far as exercise, I exercise the arm on the stroke side, but am still really unbalanced as far as walking. Thanks for the answer. ## My dr. just changed me from enilapril to lisinopril and plans to reduce the dosage o...

My sister is on a BP med "Enalapril" for the past couple of years. She has recently started taking Tylenol Arthritis tabs. Are there any indications of drug interaction from this combination? She is 72 years old. ## She should check with her doctor, or pharmacist to be certain, but there are no interactions listed. The Tylenol Arthritis just contains a time released formulation of Acetaminophen, which is actually one of the safer medications for a high blood pressure patient to use. ## At age 60, I am concerned of the risk of organ damage (liver / kidney) from long term use of tylenol or ibuprofen for arthritis pain. So much so that I generally take good old aspirin, 3 tabs two or three times a day. My stomach is fine, I don't bleed easily. My blood pressure med is Atacand 3...

Need help affording 10 mg enalapril ( vasotec generic). I take one 100 mg tablet of losartan each day for blood pressure control. Recently, I signed up at the local Veterans Hospital where they recommended a 20 mg tablet of enalapril. Is this correct? Secondly, when changing bp medication, is there a period of adustment to the new bp medicine, for example, will bp measurements be high or low for a while until the body adjusts to the new chemical? Thanks, ## Hello, Frank! How are you? Yes, those dosages should be approximately equivalent, but double check with the doctor to make sure, it never hurts to do that. And yes, there may be a couple days where things are a bit off, so your readings may be a little higher than usual. If they remain high after a week or so, then you'll need to contact your doctor as this medication may not work for...
