I have to take eltroxin 125mcg lifelong. If I took an expired eltroxin tablet, will there be any problems/side effects? Is it advisable to take eltroxin same time with ferrous forte, or should there be a gap of an hour or so between the tablets. i am taking eltroxin 0.1mg, and i was found resently to have low iron and my doctor prescribed ferrous forte. my concern is to benefit from both medication and do not have one preventing the other from doing its work in me. please help. ## Actually, the Iron can cause less absorption of the Levothyroxine, so they should be taken 4 hours apart and your doctor should check your hormone levels regularly, while you are under treatment. Can Eltroxin be used to treat goiters? ## Eltroxin contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine, which is used to treat hypothyroidism, when the Thyroid gland isn't producing enough of the essential hormone. The swelling of the thyroid gland that can occur is what is commonly referred to as a goiter. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and weight gain. ## I believe it's taken for thyroid problems.

im taking eltroxin o.1 mg with evion 400,is it harmful to take both medicine at the same time. ## There are no problems with taking these two medications together. Evion contains the active ingredient Vitamin E. And from what I could gather, Eltroxin (Levothyroxine) does not have any interactions with Vitamin E. However, consumption of certain foods as well as the timing of meals relative to dosing may affect the absorption of T4 thyroid hormone (i.e., Levothyroxine). T4 absorption is increased by fasting and decreased by foods such as soybean flour (e.g., infant formula), cotton seed meal, walnuts, dietary fiber, calcium, and calcium fortified juices. I've been taking Cymgen 60mg for 2 years now and Eltroxin 0.1mg for a year. Is it advisable to take these 2 together? I've been suffering from constant anxiety for 4 months now. I'm having hypothyroid so the doc prescribe me eltroxin tab..n my gastro prescribe me a nexpro tab which has to b taken together can they b taken together in the morning? ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? The Eltroxin should be taken first, at least a half an hour, before taking the Nexpro, it can be taken just before eating breakfast. I wanted to know if it is safe to take the dianne pill when I am on eltroxin,1mg a day.I just feel like I'm putting on weight and very moody so not sure if it is the pill,only been taking the dianne for almost 2 months and eltroxin for about 5 years.I do blood tests every 6 months to check my thyroid ## Hello, Allison! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having. Those can be normal side effects of both of these medications. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and spotting, as reported by the U.S. FDA. It isn't noted as being dangerous to take them, together, but side effects can happen with any medication. Is your doctor aware that you are taking both?

I have taken eltroxin for many years. In May of 2010, my doctor changed my meds to synthroid. since early June, I have experienced vision problems with blurring,double vision,broken lines,etc. One optometrist i saw said he thought it was systemic and noted that thyroid problems are notorious for causing vision problems. i had my blood work done and numbers were realy high(75) so my doctor increased the synthroid meds to .125mg . I suffer from insomnia caused by eltroxin 100mg a day for the last 29 years as I have a dysfunctional thyroid. I am on cholesterol medication for carotid artery disease and blood pressure medication. I have been prescribed Stilnox 12 mg to sleep and amitriptyline 10 mg to help relax. I have also been prescribed adco-alzamo .5mg. Can I take this instead of sleeping tablets and amitriptyline? I go to the gym 3 times a week and walk every day. I have tried herbal remedies with no success.

Hi my tsh was 5.83 about 2 months ago. I was prescribed eltroxin 50 mg and ebexid tablets that has 25 mg of thyroid. Now after 2 months my TSH has dropped to 0.76. Is it a normal drop? Can the high TSH tested earlier could be because of some reason other than thyroid? Pls help. ## My TSH was 5.83 and I was prescribed electroxin 75. I have finished the 3 month course.
