Eliquis Confusion

My 91 year old Mom was switched to Eliquis and has been totally exhausted and suffering from confusion and memory loss. Anyone else having the confusion/memory loss issue? ## Hello, Freddie! Side effects should start to taper off in severity after about 4 weeks, as her body adjusts to the medication. But if they don't, or if they worsen, her doctor should be consulted. DVT's in calf, had one 10 yrs ago, just found a other 2 or 3(had Charley horse that wouldn't go away, so went to ER). Had Lovenox shots in hospital, sent home with Eliquis starter pack ..had headache & dizziness 1st day, now diminished, but have breast sensitivity, indigestion & a little itchiness. Follow up with doc scheduled in a week. Have not seen breast sensitivity or indigestion (belching) listed as a side effect, wondering if anyone else having same effects. Not happy about all the side effects I have read people are experiencing....mental spaciness & confusion concern me, i have felt a bit spacey....Did lovenox/warfarin route 10 yrs ago, was happy to hear Eliquis doesn't require weekly blood draws, but now wondering if lovenox/warfarin would have been bet...

I have severe lactose intolerance and I have been taking eliquis for 6 weeks. I have developed eextreme chest and upper abdomen pain......I was also, for abrief time, on verapamil 240 mg. EKG and doc says not a heart issue. Any thoughts on this? ## Hello, Hummingbird! How are you? I am very sorry that you're so miserable, that's terrible. It sounds like it might be causing an acidity problem, most medications can do that. What have you tried for alleviating it? Those symptoms tend to occur with GERD. Eliquis has been known to cause some gastrointestinal bleeding, which leads me to suspect that it can cause severe internal irritation and possibly erosion. Other side effects may include dizziness, skin rash, headache, confusion and fainting. What type of doctor are you consulting?...

My wife had to be hospitalized for confusion and hearing voices etc while on xarelto and has since switched to eliquis and is much better, but I think that xarelto did some damage and she is still experiencing some problems but not as severe. ## What problems is she still experiencing? Such events aren't listed by the FDA, or NIH as being side effects of Xarelto. It's typical ones usually include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, easy bruising, and anxiety. Is this the only medication she is on? Has she ever been diagnosed with depression or another mental issue?

My 8 yr. old granddaughter is over weight and her mother is giving her a medication called Riomet. Is this medication harmful to my grandchild? This is a prescription medication to control blood sugar levels, so it shouldn't be taken if it hasn't been prescribed, especially not by a child. ## eliquis caused many badside effects for me...I was in hospitals more than five times with muscle aches, (especially upper back neck and upper arms) extreme bruising , numbeness, confusion,blisters , other drug interactions and fainting.
