Eliquis Blood Urine

have used this here in the u.k for 4 months as I was diagnosed with a.f. 5mgs x2 per day. Wish I had never been given them. So far strange pain in the top of head. stomach cramps. blood in urine. pain in back passage cant sleep more than 3 hours per night. affecting spinal stenosis and arthritis. Recently diagnosed with muscle wasting disease Myasthenia Gravis and I think there is a problem with taking Eliquis and having this condition. Hello - my dad was treated for prostate cancer 5 years ago via radiation and is in remission. He also is dealing with atrial fibrillation and is taking eliquis to counteract this. However, he recently has been bleeding quite a lot / passing blood in his urine / passing bloodclots and just had to have a transfusion to fight against the blood loss. The doctors are trying to find a remedy to stop this bleeding (they have said that around 5 years post prostate radiation treatment blood in your urine and clots can occur). The main issue is that my dad does not want to stop his eliquis in fear of a stroke and obviously wants to cease the non stop bleeding he is passing through his urine. After knee replacement I had one blood clot and was prescribed Warfarin. No problems except nuisance of regular INR. Changed to Eliquis 2.5 mg twice daily. After a week or so I noticed excessive bleeding from small scratches, blood spots on handkerchief, dark brown urine and then PANIC -JET BLACK faeces. Dr said stop eliquis! I stopped and after 3 weeks, no more bleeding. Any ideas on whether I need this stuff? I am 86 and otherwise pretty healthy. Anyone have Spinal Stenosis and taking this anticoagulant? I have been on it for 4 years now and have never felt right now the symptoms of the stenosis are much worse. Burning sensations in Good of fingers. Feet burning. Back of neck feels like boiling water has been poured down it. Sleep is very disturbed. Passing loads of urine. She changed despite scan showing all is well. Feeling very hot when it's minus 5. Tinnitus. These are just a few symptoms and I am not a hypochondriac they are very real temperature is 37.4. I have been on Eliquis since 2016. I was first on 5M twice a day after suffering a small stroke. I had bleeding behind my right eye and blood in my urine. I was then put on 2.5 twice a day. Still get nosebleeds. I have gained 20lbs am extremely tired all the time and feel like the life is drained out of me. Starting in July I have had stomach problems and the gastroenterologist put me on a low food map diet. After two weeks I re-introduced dairy. I had ice cream and had extreme diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. It seems I am now lactose intolerant. ## Lactose is an ingredient in Eliquis. ## You need to taper off it and/or take another blood thinner. I have been on Eliquis for 3 years, after having a blood clot from back surgery. Also have Afib. I have pain all over...back pain, fibro, nerve pain. Terribly sore all time. Seems like it all became worse after I started taking Eliquis. Sometimes urine smells like motor oil. Don’t know if it’s Eliquis but I suspect it is. I have recently felt like I have some kind of arthritis. Just debilitating pain all the time. Wish I knew if it was caused by Eliquis! ## I was misdiagnosed with a blood clot in my calf. After an ablation I had a monitor on for 30 days. The doctor said I had Afib and put me on 100 mg of flecainide twice a day plus 5 mg of eliquis twice a day. I seem to be having constipation problems. Plus blood in rectal area which could be from something else as I have had that problem before. ## Hi Nancy, Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I could gather, "red or black, tarry stools" are listed as a side effect of Eliquis (Apixaban) on medlineplus.gov. "Black, tarry stools" + "constipation" + "blood in the urine or stools" are all listed as side effects of Flecainide on nih.gov.
