I just started taking carbamazepine 200 mg. I was curious as to when this medicine reaches its full benefit? Also, will this medicine cause depression? Thank you ## Hi Dawn, According to the manufacturer, it has been stated that several weeks are often required in order for carbamazepine to reach its full effectiveness. However they also go on to note that improvements in symptoms may occur sooner in some patients. I would just recommend keeping an open line of communication with your doctor to discuss how things are going for you during the first few weeks of being on this medication. In certain situations it may take up to several weeks before you even notice enough changes in your symptoms to decide if this medication is really right for you. So I wouldn't worry if you don't ...

i have sinus problem and have been taking fedac since the past 1 year ++, recently my sinus has gotten worse and i have to take fedac, maximum a pill for 2 days. Will fedac affect my health in the future or at least can someone tell me the effects (long/short term) of fedac to health? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Fedac contains the active ingredients Tripolidine and Pseudoephedrine and there are two possible reasons for your problem. The first could be due to the fact that when you take something for so long, in the same dosage, your body will eventually get used to it and it will not longer be as effective, so you may need to adjust the dosage or use a different medication. The second could be a rebound type effect that can happen, when you take something like this for such a lon...

You can learn more Butalbital details here and you can learn more Acetaminophen details here. However, I don't know if would treat the type of pain that Tinita was asking about, since it's hard to guess at what may be causing her pain. I just started using Ziana for my acne- my skin looks as if it is peeling off my face, and I am still breaking out.. a lot. dont know if i should continue using........ ## Ziana is a good medication for acne because it is a combination of an antibiotic and a tretinoin which is in products like tazorac. You should only use a small amout (pea size) on the areas you are breaking out at first and only use it every other night until getting used to it. If you use to much it can cause redness and exfoliating of your skin. Topical medications may take a while to work which is why you are still breaking out. I don't know how bad your acne is but you may need oral antibiotics like solodyn ## Ziana takes some times to work since it is a topical medication instead of oral. I have used ziana an...

If lyrica is affecting nerve pain and maybe even destroying the nerves slowly what is it doing to our brains? ## Hello, Mary! How are you? It doesn't destroy nerves. Where did you hear that? It works by affecting the synapses in the brain that respond to pain signals, it prevents them from reacting and overreacting to stimuli. It is actually an anticonvulsant that was later found to help with mood disorders and nerve pain. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Recently I was prescribed Lyrica for nerve pain after fracturing my C5 vertebrae. The medicine was taken as prescribed by my physician. After taking said medication for two weeks, I began experiencing unusual effects pertaining to my vision. To describe this visual side-effect i would say I lost a percentage of my eye sight. A simple comparison would be as if you had been flashed in your eyes by a camera. Only there was no camera flash... This occurred arbitrarily and without warning. I contacted my physician and was advised to discontinue use. Anyone else? ## There are actually a number of Lyrica threads on here pertaining to its side effects. I think you may find the one's below helpful in that regard; as others have complained about double vision, dry eyes, dizziness, etc: /Discu...

My mother is in her third month of taking Namenda. She is wanting to sleep all the time. She is one that was an early riser and early to bed, but now she gets up whenever I call to check on her. I go over during the day and she's usually asleep. This has been going on for about 4 or 5 weeks. Namenda is her only medication. Could this be the reason for her wanting to sleep? ## One of the side effects of Namenda is drowsiness. Perhaps your mother is more susceptible to this particular side effect. I suggest that you contact her physician to let him know about her sleep habits and ask if perhaps he needs to adjust the dosage, or if this drug may not be appropriate for her. By the way, other side affects include the following: confusion, dizziness, headache, insomnia, agitation, and/or ...

I've only been taking the drug for about a week, but I feel great. I have much more energy, confidence, and possibly strength. I have also lost a good portion of my appetite (which is okay, as I'm somewhat overweight. 6'5" 280 lbs, though I am also an offensive lineman for the high school). How long do these effects last? Do they wear off the longer I take them? ## Hi Cameron, I'm glad this medication is working well for you.
