Can Zyncet be used to control eczema? ## Zyncet contains the active ingredient Cetirizine, this is an antihistamine that is usually used to help treat allergies. That said, no, it really isn't going to do much for Eczema, unless it has been specifically caused by an allergy to something that you have been in contact with. It can also cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Are there any other comments or questions?

Can Trimovate be used as a skin treatment for Eczema? ## Trimovate Contains Clobetasone Butyrate + Oxytetracycline + Nystatin Common Uses This medicine contains three active ingredients, clobetasone butyrate, oxytetracycline and nystatin. Clobetasone butyrate is a type of medicine known as a corticosteroid (or steroid). Corticosteroids are hormones that are produced naturally by the adrenal glands, and have many important functions, including control of inflammatory responses. Clobetasone is a synthetic steroid, and is used to decrease inflammation in the skin. When applied to the skin it is absorbed into the skin cells. Here it works by preventing the release of certain chemicals from the cells. These chemicals are important in the immune system, and are released as a result of allergy...

Skin rashes and hives are listed as the more serious side effects. I took Metoprolol on and off for palpitations when needed. The last few weeks I took 1/2 tab at 12.5mg only as a preventative since palpitations seemed to increase due to stress. Skin rashes and eczema increased and became miserable. I researched and thought back to the general time these symptoms developed and they were 4 years or so ago around the time I began using M. It has been about 2 weeks. The itching and redness have lessened a bit, but I wonder if anyone else can share symptoms and hope that they will go away. ## Typically, side effects are transient and go away in time, once your body gets used to a medication. However, since you're only taking this occasionally, that's most likely not going to happen ...

My grandson had a severe case of eczema, red itchy on back of leg arms and back ...just want to know if anyone had used it for their eczema and get some feedback on the usage. ## Hello, Faith13! How are you and your grandson? I'd suggest not using it on him, without doctor's approval. Using the wrong thing may actually make it worse. Gelmicin contains a topical steroid, an antibiotic and antifungal medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, redness, dryness and itching. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply. Does Gleevec work for acute eczema and acute dry skin? ## I don't have any information on this, but I can tell you that there have been several people posting that it has worked and several others who have heard of it and have been asking the same types of questions Gleevec is currently approved to treat certain types of cancer, so the side effects of these types of medications can be pretty prodigious and I am not certain it would be worth using to treat a skin condition. Does anyone else have experience using this? ## It gave me a rash and bad itching. Took a low dose of Prednisone to get rid of it. I would say NO!

for eczema, psoriasis- seeping, cracking, blistering skin- I personally used it from the age of 6 mos. in 1955 to 1988, then it disappeared from shelves- it was an over the counter cream and it really worked. At the age of 3 months my skin would swell, crack and seep a clear liquid- a pediatrician introduced the cream to my mother and at the time they had a bar soap, shampoo and cream-of which I used occasionally over the course of 30 years then all of a sudden it disappeared. I did have part of a jar I used sparingly and guarded with my life and I called the company that made the cream and they said that they took the recipe out of circulation. The jar is long gone- sadly and I do not know the name of the pharmaceutical company that originally made it. I now am entering menopause and m...

Is histodor cream good for Eczema? ## Both of the active ingredients found in this medication are in a class of medications called antihistamines; which work by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms. That said, although Histodor Cream (Diphenhydramine + Mepyramine) may help with some symptoms of Eczema, it may not be the best solution for complete overall treatment. This is because Eczema is not caused by allergies. It is more over due to a hypersensitivity reaction (similar to an allergy) in the skin. The condition tends to get worse when the person is exposed to certain triggers. Most causes of atopic dermatitis (eczema) are treated with medications that are placed directly on the skin or scalp (called topical medicines). A mild cortis...
