Hi.. My ear has been blocked completely for about four years now and lately I met a doctor who prescribe an antibiotics called primpex to me.... I hope primpex would make me hear again? ## This is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of bacterial infections. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Whether or not it will help depends on what has caused your hearing loss. Did the doctor give you any specific diagnosis?

My little sister has complained of her left ear "getting stuck" for many years and the doctors have always brushed it off and haven't seriously attempted diagnosis/treatment. She's now 14 and explained that its the feeling you get on an aeroplane, she says pulling her ear lobe, yawning and swallowing can help it go away. She only ever gets it in her left ear. Its frequently "stuck" when she wakes up in the morning but it can also happen if the ear is touched/moved so I think its because she moves around a lot in her sleep. She doesn't use cotton buds in the ears. Any advice? ## Hello, Dave! How is your sister doing? I'd suggest taking her to see a specialist that knows what to look for, in such case. A friend of mine was experience such issues and, as it ...

Early this year I agreed to place a stent in one of the arteries the consultant said was blocked. After having done it, my condition got worse than earlier - in that I started getting tired sooner as I walked and talked, I also began to get chocked as I tried to kneel down to straighten the shoes! Then, other symptoms like mouth full of blood early in the morning, at one time blood through male-tool-tip! And so on. Saw the doctor again with the above symptoms, he said everything was fine. I had to reduce the JUSPRIN to150 instead of 300? (Why had he not told me in the beginning?) My question is that should I continue to take the four medicines he has prescribed "to continue" for life long, or should I discontinue sooner or later, which again he might have forgotten to tell me!? ...

I have expired ear drops that are two months expired and I was wondering if I could still use them? ## Hello, Clarisa! How are you? It would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription, if needed. Liquids tend to degrade and go bad much faster than other formulations, so using them once expired is just a bad idea, as reported by the NIH. ## My left ear got blocked after i have taken expired ear drops which got expired 2 months ago. I have been taking Lisinopril 40Mg daily for six months. Two months ago I began to have plugged nasel passage with no pain or pressure. The feeling I have is that my throat and nasel passage is extremely dry and it feels like I need to expel mucus from my nose, but there is none. I have been given two rounds of antibiotics, nasel spray and have tried every OTC decongestion and antihistamine, but none of these remedy my problem. Constantly trying to clear what feels like dried mucus and this does nothing but make my throat sore. Have also tried steam, nasel rinses and any home remedy to correct this. Now my ears feel plugged so I have had enough. Have any of you had this experience? Only dry caugh is when I am trying to clear my dry nasel passage. Not painful, but extremely irritating! #...

I was given Metoprolol Tarta 50 mg. and it says to take one twice a day. I didn't take that much and it made me not be able to sleep like a lot of other beta blockers do. After taking it I woke up the other day and can't hear out of my right ear at all. I heard this medication is a ototoxic and can cause hearing loss. I have an appointment with a ENT doctor day after tomorrow. Has anybody else had this problem? I am now on two other B/P meds that work good and I can sleep good. This not being able ot hear out of my right ear is getting to me. I don't know what the doctor can do to get my hearing back. Hope this isn't permanent. I would appreciate any advice concerning this. Thanks, Nora ## There have been others that reported experiencing ototoxicity from taking Metoprol...

I have an ear infection with a totally blocked ear. I also have some nitrofurantoin left over from a uti. Will this antibiotic help my ear infections ## Hello, Diana! How are you? You need to see your doctor to have the presence of an infection confirmed and, if you do have one, they'll need to prescribe you a full course of an appropriate antibiotic to treat it. And you should always finish the full course of any prescribed antibiotic, to avoid the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Is there anything else I can help with?

My boyfriend recently accidentally took his medicine twice. He takes 5 mg amlodipine once a day he got up early this morning took his meds and then took more 3 hours later because he forgot. Will this hurt him? ## Hi, Kim! Any time that you are worried about the health and safety of a loved one due to taking too much medication, you should immediately call poison control, or seek assistance from your nearest emergency medical treatment facility. How is he doing? Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that's used to help lower high blood pressure and treat certain cardiac conditions. In reality, taking two tablets of the 5mg dosage wouldn't be an overdose, since it is also available in that dosage, it's just more than he should be taking. What may happen though is that his b...

I started taking Nasonex to help clear up an inner ear blockage. Within 30 minutes of taking the spaying it into both nostrils, I became completely fatigued, dizzy and disoriented. It was most noticeable as I stood up and began walking. It felt like something was wrong and I felt anxious and my heart was racing. I checked my blood pressure and blood sugar but they were both normal. I felt better the next morning. I sprayed each nostril in the morning without a noticeable side effect. So I figured that same evening it should be alright to continue. The same symptoms recurred from the previous night, and improved only slightly by bedtime. I slept well, but still feel some of the dizziness. Has anybody else had these side effects? ## Oh yes, I did experience this, and more, when I tried it...

"FDA urged to block generic non-tamper-proof pills": oxywatchdog.com/tag/purdue-pharma/ Go there.. Generics of old formula as early as January 2013 ## I have to wonder if the FDA even realizes that their medications are killing people off left and right at the patients own expense. Doing away with tamper-proof properties can be a good thing, but this isn't going to help anyone cure anything. What ever happened to the natural remedies that have been around for over 3000 years? I guess they still can't figure out how to tax people & make money off of mother nature, so here we go again with a new batch of pain killers to help numb the feelings and switch to another addiction. Does anyone else think this is wrong?
