Oxycodone HCL 5mg tablet expires 9/25/2010...Is this dangerous to take if expired? ## Certain drugs are actually okay to take after expiration, whereas others such as antibiotics can become toxic. My personal assumption is that it lost a good percentage of its potency by now, having been 2 years past the expiration date. It may still be effective, but not nearly as potent. It's also impossible to give a direct answer to this question, since each medication can effect people differently. We all know that it's better to avoid the expired drugs and stay on the safe side, but unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. Suffering... ## No, that would actually contribute to the degradation of it, since freezing it exposes it to moisture and ice crystals can form in the medication. Thus, not only is old, but storing it in such a way has greatly hastened its aging. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so, in order to get a new prescription, if an infection is present.

If it is in bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, it has an expiration date of one year, from the date you received it, because those bottles expose it to the elements that cause degradation. where can i get them i need my perscription filled now ## The tablets provded by Ethex are not actually generics, they are simply a licensed distributor for Purdue Pharma, so the pills you would get are the same as what you would get for the name brand Oxycontin. They are the new formulation and will also have the OP marking on them. There are no generic manufacturers of Oxycontin, due to the risk of diversion, if there were more on the market.
