Dulcolax Bisacodyl

Bisacodyl (INN) is an organic compound that is used as a stimulant laxative drug. It works directly on the colon to produce a bowel movement. It is typically prescribed for relief of episodic and chronic constipation and for the management of neurogenic bowel dysfunction, as well as part of bowel preparation before medical examinations, such as for a colonoscopy.[1][2] Bisacodyl is a derivative of triphenylmethane. It was first used as a laxative in 1953 becau...

I was instructed to take 4 tables and 268mg Miralax for my colon test which I did and then later in the evening I had a seizure and was transported to the hospital not knowing anything for several hours. I was in ICU for 2 days. Could this have been from the medication I took for test. They did MRI, and all kinds of tests but could not come up with an answer. I had never had a seizure in my life. ## Hello, Pat! How are you? Sorry about what happened to you. I doubt it could have been caused by the laxatives and if the doctors don't think so, then that also casts further doubt on it. But why did they have you prep with them, rather than just doing a regular bowel prep?

my doctor tol;d me to take these tablets. i just want to know these medicines drug information. ## Hello, Shiju! How are you? The Ducolax is just a stool softener, to prevent constipation. The Aciloc contains the active ingredient Ranitidine, which is an antacid, it's used to treat or prevent conditions such as ulcers, GERD, heartburn and gastritis, which means it was likely given to prevent the stomach irritation that the Lyser can cause, since it contains the active ingredient Diclofenac, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Unfortunately, I can't find any information on anything under the name Nidare. Can you please double check the name and spelling? Thanks!

I read an article on-line that said methylparaben and bisacodyl are ratio-morphine ingredients in Dulcolax tablets. I am mainly trying to find out if any of the ingredients in Dulcolax tablets have morphine in them. ## Hello, Verna! How are you? I think the person that wrote the article was somewhat confused, because there is no Morphine in Dulcolax. Learn more Dulcolax details here. As a matter of fact, Ratio-Morphine actually refers to the Morphine that's manufactured by a specific pharmaceutical company, Ratiopharm and this is how generics are referred to in Canada, instead of just calling them Morphine, or Oxycodone, they use the company name, so other medications may be dispensed as APO-Tramadol and etc. Bisacodyl is a distant derivative of methane, so perhaps they misunderstoo...

Hi, found some pills they are orange very small ,,,round, and there's a five on the one side and nothhing on the other Please help me figure out what they are. ## This contains 5mgs of Basacodyl, a generic or store brand of Dulcolax, these are sold over the counter in both the US and Canada. They are a commonly used laxative. Common side effects may include: nausea, stomach cramping, gas and diarrhea. You can read more on it here: Do you have any other questions? ## this guy doesnt know what hes talking about, ive been looking for the same answer, people think they know what they are and dont! its an opiod, i know that, kids in my neighbourhood pop them to get high, kinda like a dilaudid supposedly, definatley not a laxative! they are very small bright oragne with a 5 indented on on...

wow I cant believe my eyes!!! I have ulcerative colitis I was diagnosed with 21 yrs ago. Every 2 years my dr checks me for cancer which means I have at least 10 colonoscopy's....each time I was advised to take magnesium citrate (2 bottles any flavor) and dulcolax tabs 4 in the am, etc, along with clear liquids, popsicles, jello, whatever... Anyway I have never spent more than $15 including the "snacks". I'm not a dr so maybe there's a reason to prescribe this $$$ kit but I would strongly advise asking your dr for a less expensive option. ## Hello, Mika! How are you? Thank you for posting this great advice for others. It is a sad, but true fact that many doctors prescribe the "latest and greatest", without considering the expense to the patient. Doctors are no...

The pill is hot pink and it's the size of a mini m&m. It has the letters DW on one side and it's blank on the other. It is round. I do believe it's an over-the-counter drug. ## Hi Violet, I haven't found an exact match to your pill, but from what others have mentioned, I think it may be "Dulcolax for Women" (an over-the-counter laxative containing Bisacodyl). Someone else was told that their pink pill was a generic oxycodone 20mg tablet. However, Dulcolax for Women seems to make a lot more sense with the abbreviated imprint "DW"; seeing as they haven't confirmed oxycodone to be a possible match either. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Bisacodyl Details Can anyone else confirm this identification? ## That tiny hot pink pill with t...

please let me know if there is any substitute for the syrup Encelax (Lactitol Monohydrate) available in the pharmacies in US. thanks ## Hello, Based on my research, Lactitol Monohydrate is an osmotic laxative to help hydrate the gut. If you use the Encelax for that reason, have you ever considered trying some OTC brands such as Dulcolax or Senna-S (natural vegetable laxative tablets? Those brands are carried at Walgreens online and CVS. Please post back if you need further assistance!

I am now using them for intestinal spasms ## The side effects do not necessarily change when you combine medications, however, some can intensify the side effects in a synergistic manner. For instance, since the mineral oil can treat constipation, combining it with the Dulcolax may cause diarrhea and loose bowels. Urobicid contains the active ingredient Norfloxacin, this is an anitbiotic. One of its side effects is diarrhea, so you may run into some severe bowel problems if you use all of these together. Baralgin contains Metamizole, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. Do you have any other questions? ## What if you combine mineral oil with baralgin . I just did a hemorrhoids operation ## I would use the minera...

This has been prescribed - - there is nothing on the [Rx] label, or the container, stating the ingredients. (I suppose because it IS a prescription.) I have searched far and wide trying to find out the ingredients; is it a combo of colace and ducolax? or simply some company trying to trade on the syllables "duco", since ducolax is a well-known brand name! Thanks. ## From what I could gather, Dulcolax stool softener is the same thing as Colace. They are not different other than the brand name. That said, it does make sense that Ducolace would simply be another brand name of the drug (from a different manufacturer perhaps). I'm surprised the pharmacy who filled your prescription didn't give you more details on it. It seems like they try to get people out of there as quick ...
