My wife suffers from a dry mouth. Drinking water and chewing gum do not help much. She uses esperide, enap5, purata and adco-zolpiden. Could any of these be the culprit?. Can you advise. Regards. ## Hello, Jan! How are you? Any and all of them could be the culprit. Dry mouth is very common with most medications. When I had that problem, I found that sucking on sugarless sour candy usually helped. Otherwise, there really isn't much to be done about it, other than keep her mouth moist. Taking small sips of water or even lemon water frequently can help, along with the candy and mints. Does anyone else have any ideas to add? ## Most people get that from meds. I use the mouth wash (Biotene?). I found a way to use that mixed with a little silicone (drug stores sell it) & water. Use a ...

do people with ms have dry mouth and dry eyes? ## It is possible. MS is still a very misunderstood disease and it's hard to know what symptoms should be attributed to it or what may be caused by something else. If someone is suffering from it and they are unsure, they should consult their doctor to get to the root of the problems. Are you an MS sufferer?

Does Metnax cause dry mouth and buring tongue irratition? Been taking two tabs per day for about 5 months and the last two mouths my mouth is dry and tongue always irritated. ## Metanx is a B complex nutritional supplement that's specially formulated to help with conditions such as neuropathy. However, as such, it's really not tested for side effects, as is done with actual prescription medications and it's always difficult to say how it may affect any given person that takes it. Have you discussed these symptoms with your doctor?

I take 3 (8mg) of suboxone everyday. I try 2 take them at the same time each day. I take 2, then, the last one. I even swish my mouth with water b 4 taken them, and, brush my teeth. I take Biotene b 4 bed, as prescribed by Dr. My ? Is, does anyone else suffer with dry mouth when taken suboxone? It doesn't happen all the time, or, all day. But it interferes with the strips getting caught in my teeth, not going in properly and taking longer 2 dissolve. Any similar problems from others? Any suggestions would b helpful. TY! ## Hey Cats, That happens to me sometimes and I don,t think theres much you can do about it except the swishing water around before you take it. ## Hi Jolter! Thank you 4 replying. I have a very bad case of dry mouth. I think it is the lisinopril that is causing it. It is the only common denominator. I started having this issue in March. I have researched dry mouth over and over again, and the only factor that includes me is a side effect from the medicine. No other cause of dry mouth affects me. I am diabetic, but my numbers are always good. So I have a few questions: 1. Are there any cases of dry mouth caused by lisinopril? 2. Can someone be taking a medicine like lisinopril for a while (two years) before the effects show up? 3. If I go off the lisinopril, how long until the dry mouth goes away? 4. If I go off the lisinopril is there an alternate hypertension medicine that will work? Thank you for your time. ## Hello Rob, According to the NIH dry mouth is listed...

Hi, so I've been taking Lo Loestrin for 5 days now and ever since the day after I took the first pill, it's been difficult to swallow and eat without choking. I also have bad breath because of the dryness that I can't get rid of, no matter how many times I brush my teeth. If anyone is experiencing similar things, please let me know, and maybe we could work on a way to get rid of it or decide if it's better to stop taking Lo Loestrin all together. ## Most medications can cause dry mouth, but I've never heard of it being that severe, from oral contraceptives. As reported by the FDA, other typical side effects may possibly include dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Given the severity, I'd suggest speaking to your doctor about trying a different...

I wake up during the night needing to urinate and have a very dry mouth. The urination is not new but the dry mouth only seems to have stated since I began taking Zanidip, Is this normal or should I worry about the problem? ## Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine, it is a calcium channel blocker, commonly used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiac related issues. And yes, the dry mouth can be a common side effect, along with: headache, dizziness and stomach pain. It should wear off as your body adjusts to the medication. If it doesn't, or becomes severe, please make sure to consult your doctor. Are there any comments or questions? ## I was on ibersartan for years then developed dry mouth which is awful. After weeks of moaning to dri stopped the tablet for 4 ...

I tried Singulair but it caused me extremely dry mouth, so much so that despite the medication's benefits I don't know if I want to continue using it. Does this side effect of dry mouth wear off with continued use of Singulair? If so, after how long? ## Hello, Shira! How are you? Yes, side effects are usually transient and taper off in severity, then go away entirely, once your body gets used to a medication. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks. Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly including headache, dizziness, joint pain, sweating and constipation. Sometimes sucking on mints or candies can help, or regularly sipping some water. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your reply, I do have some other questions: Can the benefits of Singula...

I have been taking Effexor XR for I guess ten years with no problems. Three months ago I suddenly developed severe continuing dry mouth. My doctor did extensive blood tests that eliminated any organic cause but my pharmacist said she had read of dry mouth spontaneously occurring in patients who had been taking Effexor long-term (5-plus years). The only problem is she has not been able to source literature about this. Have any Effexor users out any knowledge or experience about this? Any leads would be most gratefully received! ## I don't know about what your pharmacist said. But what I can tell you is that our bodies do change with time and any doctor can confirm that for you. What that means is that while it's not common, it is still quite possible for you to start experiencing...

These are my only problems. If this a side effect of prolia? I'm due for my second shot in December ## Hello, June! How are you? It can cause a dry mouth and throat and it only makes sense that if you're dryer, your saliva would be thicker. You may find that sipping water frequently may help, unless you're on fluid restriction, or ice chips can also help. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, loose teeth, constipation and abdominal discomfort. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks...I will reconsider prolia now

I took a generic drug store drug (omper) instead of Prilosec. When I eat food the first taste is fine but then when the food hits the back of my mouth it tastes awful. Has anyon had any side effects from the generic drug for Prilosec? ## I can't really tell you anything about it, without knowing who the manufacturer is, but it could be that there was a different filler/inactive ingredient that caused the problem. Only the active ingredient has to be the same, not the items that are considered inactive. Do you still have the packaging? ## you are suppose to take it on an empty stomach and wait 30 mins before you eat.

I just started taking Percocets it's only been 3 weeks I have dry mouth what can I do to prevent it ## The same thing is happening to me I drink tons of water all day long, constantly put lip balm on and it's not helping. If you find an answer or remedy please let me know! ## Unfortunately, that can be a side effect of many medications and opiates are very well known to cause it in most people that take them. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. Sometimes sucking on small candies can help, as well as sipping fruit juice, or ginger ale, unless your on a restricted diet and can't have these things. Does anyone else have any tips or advice to offer?

I can take up to 8mg per day but I only take around 4mg per day for knee pain. I have had mouth pain off and on for the last year and I thought it was a yeast infection so I went to my GP and they did a diagnostic and it was not a yeast infection. It eventually went away, I think my doctor gave me an antibiotic but I also ate tons of yogurt. It happened again and I was taking a medication that caused my body to dry out. I have a big problem with dry eyes so my doctor then felt that I had a dry tongue. I started washing my mouth out with violene mouth wash and using xylimelts in my mouth at night and that made it go away. Now it is happening again so I wanted to know if it could be my suboxone since I am no longer taking the other medication. If it is the while top of my tongue is sore a...
