Hi, every morning and through the day my eyes are burning, itching, and really red. I have read up on different vitamins, but was wondering if anyone has the same problem. Thanks Clare ## Lately I have had the same problem. Although an antihistamine helps with the itching, sneezing due to allergy, my eyes are quite red. Checking with my eye doctor, he suggested that my eyes are dry due to time of year and not enough moisture, so I was advised to use lubricating eye drops about 4 times a day. Picked up over-the-counter eye drops. This has helped a lot. ## Clare, I also have to advise seeing an eye doctor, rather than guessing what's wrong and trying to treat it yourself. Your vision isn't something worth risking to guess work. It may be due to allergies and dryness, like the issu...

My mother is 86 years old and has Graves' disease. We heard that on rare occasions if you cough hard your eye can pop out. Is this true? Sincerely, Diana Christiana ## Hello, Diana! How is your mom? No, it is not true. However, her disease should be being treated by her doctor, which may help lessen the bulging. The bulge can also make it harder to keep her eyes moist, so she may need to use lubricating eye drops, or the dryness may irritate them, causing pain and itching, as listed by the NIH. Is there anything else I can help with?

I stopped taking levothyroxine a few weeks ago and have started having red blood shot eyes that do not respond to eye drops of any kind. Allergy, dry eyes , etc. Can stopping levothyroxine cause red , watery eyes and if I restart taking it will the symptoms of the red eyes disappear? If so, how long will it take? ## Why did you stop taking it? Did your doctor instruct you to stop taking it? Levothyroxine is used to treat thyroid disorders, and if you have an issue with your thyroid that requires the taking of it, you are likely to require it for the rest of your life. Ref: Levothyroxine Information As to the red eyes, there is a chance it's from Thyroid Eye Disease, though it usually also involves ocular swelling, and generally accompanies Graves' Disease. What Thyroid condition...

I have been using vigamox 3 times a day, my eyes get dry and a little irritated between doses just wanted to know if I could use visine LR in between the vigamox to help with the dryness and irritation? ## Yes you can use both of these eye drops together. Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between the ingredients in Visine L.R. and Vigamox. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate.
