cream for skin. What is it? ## Betaderm contains the active ingredient Betamethasone. Betamethasone is a moderately potent glucocorticoid steroid with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. Unlike other drugs with these effects, betamethasone does not cause water retention. It is applied as a topical cream, ointment, foam, lotion or gel to treat itching (e.g. from eczema). For more details you can see: Actually, I was under the impression that the brand Betaderm was discontinued (according to the FDA site) [1], but if you were able to get a prescription for it then I guess not. I was prescribed this antibiotic & Docycycline Hyclate 100mg cap 3days ago for my eczema which got infected (because I was scratching). On the 2nd day I have been taking both meds (BID every 12 hrs for both), I noticed that I developed rash & what looks like hives on my neck. Today, my upper chest has some kind of prickly heat rash like a baby's bum. Do I discontinue these 2 antibiotics? ## Hi Lorna, It's difficult to say which of these medications might be causing the side effects your experiencing. swelling of joints ## This medication is unavailable in the U.S. and I am sorry to say that other countries do not regulate their prescription drugs as strictly as the FDA does. That said, finding information on them is very difficult, since there are no databases which list them all, like there are for U.S. prescription drugs. The only thing I can suggest is that you try asking your doctor or pharmacist for more information. ## I have problem of getting small dots on my skin (on my under foot) and palm and some water bubbles seen. after that the main skin peel off. it repeats. ## Reply to Rojilal - I had exactly the same problem with my left palm only. Very itchy and sore. Diagnosed by a dermatologist as dyshydrotic eczema. Cured by treatment with ultraviolet light and cortisone cream....
