I took this drug in 1987 from the time I was twenty weeks pregnant until I delivered emergency C-section December 1987, eight weeks early. My son's umbilical cord was only 5 inches long and he weighed 4lb 14oz. Since he was almost two years old, he has had all kinds of immune disorders. He had ITP when he was two and he has had MRSA, staph infections, chronic allergies, depression and right now at the age of 25 he is having diagnosis to figure out if he has ulcers or whatever. I even pay a lot of money for him to take a immune support supplement. It has been very frustrating over the years. ## I too took this drug at 20 wks and deliver via c-section in Nov. 1988. My son was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. His Apgar score was very low. We have experienced just a...

ITCHING BROUGHT ON BY HEAT. CAN'T TAKE A HOT SHOWER, WORK UP A SWEAT, GET IN THE SUN. HAS ANY BODY ELSE HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS? ## Cal, that can be a common side effect of some blood pressure medications, according to FDA reports, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I experience, sometimes, myself, and it is very annoying. I hate it. I am even on one that causes my scalp to itch, and tingle in the heat. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

How long after taking your first pill can you have a reaction to it? I have taken one over 3 hours ago and felt like it was a bit hard to breath for the first couple hours and feel weird in the head now 3 1/2 hours later. My face is also getting red. ## Bentyl is known for those type of reactions. I would say that sometimes the effects may last for a while but after your body get's use to the pill over the course of a couple of weeks even a month the feelings will wane. I think for some people we will always have that mild feeling of taking something but if the get to much to bear after a few weeks talk to your doctor about changes your medication. I had to learn the hard way...lol. ## Gina, you've been given great advice from Alani. I'd also like to add a warning about a po...

etodolac 500 mg sandoz exp 5 2010 are they safe to take ## Hello, Ann! How are you? This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but they do lost effectiveness over time and, even if still sealed in the originally factory sealed container, the maximum shelf life is only about 5 years, thus it would be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new supply, if you still require such a medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

This is my second time noticing that I have some problems taking solmux 500mg. The first time was every time I coughed, I could feel so much pain in my stomach. My coughing had to be long and hard. The next day I went to the doctor, who instead prescribed me with an antibiotic. This time after a few hours of taking the first solmux capsule, I felt so much itching from my shoulders down to my whole back to my butt area, then to my chest. I had went to sleep but I just suddenly woke up because my front lips were swelling already. The itching of my skin went throughout all of my body. At first I thought maybe I got an allergic reaction from the last night's dinner with fish on the table but when I searched the internet I came across some info that a solmux allergy could be "skin ra...

I am taking Bactrim for a UTI and have side effects of hands shaking, gassy stomach, headache, loss of appetite, and irritability. There are 4 pills left and I am afraid to finish them. Is a substitute for Bactrim DS tablet SMX-TMP DS TAB? The script is 2 tablets twice a day. Should I just discontinue them or reduce them to one a day? ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and diarrhea. And SMX-TMP DS is just an abbreviation for the ingredients in Bactrim DS. An allergic reaction is listed by the FDA as possibly including fever, chills, trouble breathing, hives, and swelling. This is a very strong antibiotic, though it is not usually the first choice for a UTI. Are you on any other medications? Have yo...

I had a reaction to the first esipram tablet I took and the effect was waking up at 2am and feeling tingling in my hands, increased pulse rate to 96 when it should be about 65-70 and feeling disorientated and feeling very sick, I went through stages of being wide awake but then feeling really tied, my pupils were so dialated that you couldnt see the colour anymore. I ended up going to hospital in fear of it being an allergic reaction. Has anyone eles had these sort of side effects and do they go away? I would like to try it again but through the day to see if it makes a difference, but would like to hear if this has happened to anyone eles first. Thanks

I've been taking sulfamethoxazole/tmp ds tab for seven days and the nausea, chills, shakes, hot feeling, increased heart rate, stomach upset and pain, dizziness, diarrhea and vertigo have gotten worse each day. I was told by dr to stop taking it but prescribed another antibiotic to start. I am afraid to take the new med. I feel like I'm dying and can't go through this again. What are my options? I'm being treated for a bladder infection. ## Some of those are rare side effects to the medication, which is a generic for Bactrim and your doctor was correct in telling you to stop taking it. However, all medications carry the risk of side effects and if you have an infection, your risks are far greater if you don't have it properly treated, because it could cause serious hea...

I had an injection 5 days ago and have not had any reaction. Does this mean that the injection didn't work? ## Hello, Sue! How are you? Not necessarily, it could be that you're just not sensitive to its side effects. I am very sensitive to medications and usually end up experiencing a ton of side effects, but my mother-in-law is the complete opposite and rarely ever experiences any from any medication she tries. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including reduced vision, pain and retinal breaks. Are you still doing well?

My doctor recently prescribed Lipitor for me. I took 2 pills and had such a bad reaction I stopped it at once. I felt so spaced out that things did not appear normal. I can remember small things, like hearing my daughters voice but did not know what she said. Seems like some loss of memory and functions. I remember my son driving home but felt like we were lost and he did not know where he was going. Did not recognize places or landmarks. Has anyone else had side effects like this. It is scary and would like to know how long it lasts? ## Hello, Judy! How are you? No, those are definitely not normal side effects. Any suggestions would be appreciated. ## I have had a bad skin reaction to the treatment PEGASYS for hepatitus . My skin is dry, itchy, scaly and sore. Can anybody suggest anything to help calm and reduce my reaction? Any suggestions would be appreciated. ## Since you do have a serious medical condition and are undergoing this treatment, you should check with your doctor to see what might be safe for you to use. There are certain medications, or topical applications that may help, but most are processed through the liver, so they could potentially cause you problems. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

Hi My daughter is 15 and was prescribed prednisone 20mg for inflammation brought on by an upper respiratory infection. She took the first dose about 1/2 hour after a meal and within 1/2 hour, she was experiencing severe abdominal cramping and nausea. She was able to vomit and it was clear with a few solids but mostly clear. I spoke with the doctor after the pharmacist recommended that it might be too much for her. The doctor said to continue and he called in anti-nausea. I really want to stop because she was so violently ill. Since it was only the first dose, will she be okay to stop. In March of 1983 I was given Zomax for depression and traumatic stress disorder just before I moved back to Alaska. I had been taking it for about 3 days and we were on the road. I was taking a break from driving and as we were coming into Pocatello, Idaho my husband at that time woke me up. My lips were huge and swollen and my eyes were almost swollen shut. I was also having a hard time breathing. We went straight to the emergency room in Pocatello and I was told I was going into anaphylactic shock. They administered a shot of adrenalin and said that I was lucky to have gotten there when I did and hadn't gone on to Boise before seeking treatment because there was no emergency room between Pocatello and Boise and my throat was swelling shut and I could have suffocated and died.
