My husband is taking various medications for hypertension and cholesterol; he has also been prescribed Paracetamol for arthritic pain. However, he complains that if he takes Paracetamol it makes him sleepy and also causes retching (bile). Is this a common reaction, and if so which painkiller would be suitable for his arthritis? ## Yes, those can be normal side effects of Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, he may also experience headache and stomach irritation. It's really difficult to know what else he could take, without knowing the other medications he is on. There are some that should not be taken with other medications, or if he has any heart concerns, with his high blood pressure. Has he consulted his doctor? They would be best able to advise him on what he can use safely. ## Paracetam...

My friend took Bioflu and Alaxan (Ibuprofen + Paracetamol) at the same time. The result was severe allergies on her whole body and face... Also caused dizziness, headache and loss of taste. Please give us some advice. ## Bioflu contains Chlorpheniramine and Paracetamol, and Alaxan contains Ibuprofen and Paracetamol, so they should not be taken together, it can be very dangerous if someone takes too much Paracetamol, the NIH guidelines warns that no one should exceed 1,000mgs of it in any 8 hour period, and no more than 3,000mgs in any 24 hour period. Was the capsules the cause ## Lentogesic contains the active ingredients Paracetamol and Dextropropoxyphene. What you experienced could be a reaction to having taken so many, in one day. Hi when my doctor prescribed these pills for me he also asked if i had a reaction to paracetamol (which i do) he gave me stomach tablets to take with the DP 20, my condition is tennis elbow ## Hi marge, I located a probable match based on the imprint provided. It appears to be a brownish/orange and white toned capsule that is known as Omeprazole (20mg). It makes good sense that this is a match because Omeprazole is used in the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome; and you had mentioned it as being a stomach tablet. You can read more about it in the link below: I hope this helps!

I found some white tablets amongst paracetamol and ibuprofen tablets. ## Hi Louise, The closest match I've been able to find is a white oblong/capsule shape pill with the imprint IP 111 with a score dividing the two imprints. It's identified as Acetaminophen (500 mg) + hydrocodone bitartrate (5 mg); which belong to the drug class narcotic analgesic and is a combination of two types of pain medicine to treat moderate to severe pain. The combination is marketed is Vicodin. Do you think this could be your pill? Side effects: Side-effects of hydrocodone/acetaminophen (paracetamol) are most commonly upset stomach, nausea, and altered mental states (e.g., dizziness, light headedness). Other rarer side-effects include allergic reaction, seizures, clammy skin, paranoia, hallucinations, ...

i have weak leg muscles after surgery , can i use mucodal to control my leg pain ## Muscodol contains Acetaminophen, which you may know better as Paracetamol. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to treat pain and swelling, however, it is not a powerful pain reliever. Therefore its effectiveness for you can depend on how bad your pain is and you also didn't mention if you were on any other medications, as it can have bad reactions when mixed with some of them. It is also very important to know that when taking this, you cannot exceed 4,000mmgs in a day, as more than that in 24 hours is toxic and can cause severe organ damage or death. What has your doctor suggested for the pain?

This does not mean that no problems will occur however. Zithromax (Brand) and Azithromycin (Generic Equivalent). Are they both, exact in all Ingredients, or, do they add other Ingredients in the Generic > Azithromycin ?? ## They do not have the same molecular structure on the active ingredient - Brand is a dihydrate and generic is a monohydrate - also have different inert ingredients as well - generic is made outside of US where there is little inspections related to quality control - on contaminates and greater than allowed by the FDA on residual solvents.
