A new pain pill exstinded relief that starts with and a not avinsa ## Hi Eddie, What about the name Astramorph? It too is another brand of Morphine like Avinza. However, the difference is that Astramorph is an inj./epidural. And while I'm not sure how new it is or how long the relief lasts, inj's. are typically a lot stronger than oral pain meds due to increased bioavailability. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any other pain meds that start with an 'A', but if anything I hope this at least helps narrow down your search.

Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

Had total hip replacement 5 days ago. Percocet 10/325 only last 4 hrs before the pain starts to increase. I've tried to stick it out to at least 5+ hours, but it is too painful. Should I take a Lortab between doses to help me get to 5-6 hrs? Or should I just go ahead and take another percocet? (every 4 hr). ## Talk your dr. You may need something stronger short term. ## @DJ, Because these medications tend to affect each person differently, I believe only you can truly answer that question depending on how your body has responded to them in previous doses. However, over an extended period of time I'd probably be more concerned about acetaminophen toxicity than anything else. Maybe you can ask your doctor if s/he can prescribe something without acetaminophen in order to allow for ...

Got some 25mg amitriplytine and guy told me it is a percoet 15mg are they close to see feeling from doing them to releieve pain ## Hello, Eddy! How are you? NO, Amitriptyline is an antidepressant, thought it can sometimes help with some types of nerve pain, it must be taken consistently for several weeks, before it usually starts to help. It does not have any immediate pain relieving properties like Percocet does. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. Is there anything anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Apo-meloxicam since Tuesday. I have taken 4 pills for inflammation in my lower back and right leg. Am a little concerned as to why the pain is not going away? How long before the pill starts to work? ## Meloxicam is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so while it can help with some minor pain, fever, and swelling, it will not alleviate pain as well as an opiate would. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. You may need a stronger pain reliever. Have you informed your doctor?

I've been using the the 25mcg patch for chronic pain for 3mos. and feel it is not working as well as it did in the beginning. Could I be building a tolerence this soon? Should I ask my neurologist to increase the dosage? or should I ask for other pain med to use with the patch? ## You have definitely built up a tolerance. Also, the problem with extremely strong narcotics like fentanyl is when you become dependent (NOT addicted, big difference), your brain starts to send out a false sense of pain that is telling you that you need more and more. It is all up to you and your doc. The more and the longer you stay on it the worse it will be to get off of it (withdrawals). Also they could could give you something else on top of the fent for breakthrough pain, but it will just probably be ...
