Drug Test Barbiturates

Hello I am a union steward trying to defend a member who has been accused of failing a urinalysis test. The member takes a drug that is commonly known as fiorcet. The screen came back poisitive for barbiturates, and phenobarbital. I have spoken to a pharmacist who has told me that this drug would come back as a positive but I am looking for more proof to defend this member. Is there any documentation that you can refer me to that states that the drug fiorcet would raise a positive drug test for phenobarbital. I took a ten panel for the nursing program and I have never been involved in taking drugs , the said I test positive for barbiturates .. I take topirimate (generic for topomax) for migraines ; imitrex, yaz, and had surgery 2 weeks ago under General anesthesia prior to the 10 panel. Would any of the lead to a positive result for barbiturates ?

I took Butapap with caffeine approx 27 hours before I had a random drug test, will it show? ## Since the drug you are referring to Acetaminophen + Butalbital + Caffeine is prescribed for migraines, then if you can show that you have a prescription for it you should be fine. The only thing is that Butalbital is a barbiturate, so if the drug test is looking for barbiturates then it would come up positive. But it's not like you would have narcotics in your system or anything heavy like Oxycodone, so if you can simply explain your migraine situation they should understand. Good luck! if your urine is clean of drugs does that mean that your blood is also? ## Most likely - most of the time urine tests detect things for longer than blood tests. But of course, depending on what the test is looking for the detection time may be very similar, or in the case of Barbiturates, it may linger in the blood longer. Does Testim show up on a 10 panel drug test? ## My answer to your question would be no. Reason being is that the 10-panel drug screen tests for the illegal drugs, like cocaine, angel dust, heroin and marijuana. Some prescription drugs have the potential to become addictive, so the 10-panel drug test also screens for several legal drugs that are also known to be drugs of abuse. The test screens for tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, opiates, methadone, barbiturates and methamphetamine. Since testim (testosterone) is a naturally present hormone, I would think that all they could do is check your levels as opposed to accusing you of supplementing with it. Anyone else have input on this?

will levetiracetam make you have a false postive or show up on a drug test ## Levetiracetam should not cause a false positive or even show up on a urine drug test. As far as hair drug test goes it would not show up on a hair drug test. One of the big advantages of hair drug test is that it is good at isolating only the drugs that are tested for, the main drugs of abuse so levetiracetam would not show up on a hair drug test. ## Well i took a drug test today and they asked me if i was taking barbiturates or.sedatives and i take dilantin and levetiracetam.

Does orphenadrine er 100mg show up as anything on a pre-employment drug screen? I didn't take any for two days before the drug test but I still wonder... ## From what I am reading, it shouldn't, it is in the antihistamine class of medications, it is generally used to prevent pain and muscle spasms. Side effects may include: dry mouth, drowsiness, restlessness and urinary retention. ## Can orphenadrine show up as a false positive for barbiturates? If my company would give me a drug test for: marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, phencyclidine (“PCP”), barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, methaqualudes, and propoxiphine??? ## Sibutramine is used as an appetite suppressant to aid in weight loss. That said, it is related to Amphetamines. However, if you have a prescription for it, all you need to do is tell to alter them to that fact when you go in to have the test done. i am prescribed hydrocodine and i took an oxy 40 mg will they both show up as opiates? ## Yes. It has opiates in it. Both drugs will show up. ## Not it will not show up as opiate. It will only show up on a test designed to test for oxycodone. Most 10-12 panel tests test for oxycodone though show you will fail the drug test but it will not fail as opaite. I would like to know if norcos and methadone both show up as barbiturates or opiates basically in the same category in a hair follicle test? ## They will show up as opiates. ## Methadone is in its own category on a 12 panel test. I am on a pre-trial contract and get drug tested every week.They do an eight panel that tests for Marijuana, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazephines, Morphine / Opiates, Phencyclidine, and Barbiturates. They also do a separate test for Buprenorphine. I passed the eight panel test, but a faint line showed up on the Buprenorphine test. I don't take any other medications nor do I use Suboxone. I have had 2 urine drug screens w a 2 1/2 wk difference between. The first GC/MS + phenobarbital >1000ng & the 2nd + 816ng. I've never taken this drug before. The meds I do take are: gabapentin, tramadol, ibuprofen, sumatriptan, omeprazole. I may have found a way to get some but I really need to be sure it is pure (Nembutal). I cannot get a test kit through Exit International as I do not qualify on rounds of age. Can a urine drug test sent off to a lab tell the difference between oxycodone/apap 7.5-3.25mg (percocet 7.5-3.5) and oxycodone hcl 5mg (Roxicodone 5mg)?
