Drug Contraindicated In Pregnency

Have been bedridden most of the time with muscle toxicity due to Levaquin! Recently have extreme pain in my left knee with great knee replacements over 20 years ago and still in good shape! Because of pain and swelling in my left knee ai was sent to ER to eliminate blood clot which was clear. Blood work shows high White Blood Cells. Sed rate and CPR indicating an infection! Sent immediately to Orthopedic Doctor. X rays look good, signs of pain, swelling, and limited mobility! He wants to wait and see and has prescribed Meloxicam , ice, and bed rest along with oxycondone. Also on metformin 500 mg 3 pills twice a day and losartin! Should I take this medicine? Grapefruit seed extract is supposed to be a good herbal preventative but I have heard that it is counteracts the blood pressure meds. ## Hi Carole - it depends on the specific medication which you are referring to. If you look at the combination of ingredients Amlodipine / Benazepril (as listed at the top of this thread), they are said to have a minimal/negligible interaction with grapefruit (as opposed to other meds which could be considered dangerous to take with grapefruit). Grapefruit can, however, increase your risk of side effects from this particular drug, so if you are going to take both together it is important to make your doctor aware of this since they will probably want to double check your medical history and monitor you. I have seen several posts praising this topical steroid for treatment of incivek rash. It did work great, but now I fear that people in treatment and perhaps their doctors are not being certain that this super steroidal foam could be contra-indicated for the same reasons as prednisone. Prednisone relies on the CYP3-A enzyme for clearance, the same enzyme suppressed by incivek. I am sure that even though clobetasol is topical, when applied on rashy areas it gets into the blood. Question then is does it also involve CYP3-A enzyme for clearance. ## I accidently used Clobetasol Propionate Cream 0.05 in place of my vaginal retrace creme. What will be the reaction?...
