I'm taking a medical transcription course and I'm having trouble hearing a word. 8 mg isn't a common dose for most drugs, so I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions. The word in question seems to end in did but sounds like it begins with a C or K possibly. My first thought was Dilaudid, and the medication could be for pain as it's for a post bone marrow transplant, but it really just doesn't sound like the speaker is saying that at all. ## I am sorry, I am really not finding anything else that has that dosage and ends with did. Dialudid does have an 8mg dosage, as well as several other medications, like Atacand for blood pressure. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I'm trying to figure out what a med was called that I took I was a yellow gel cap with a purple ring Arround it and it ended in pam ## Hi Chuck, Do you have any idea what "type" of medication it was? What it was prescribed or used for? A lot of drug names come to mind that end in 'pam', specifically benzodiazepines/anti-anxiety meds such as diazepam, lorazepam, clonazepam, and temazepam. So this is what I tend to think of right off the bat. However I'm not particularly aware of how each tablet or capsule is being supplied and their specific color schemes for certain dosages. Never-the-less, it seems to me that the drug category of benzodiazepines is most common when it comes to meds that end in 'pam'. So you may just need to double check on that with a ph...

I have been taking oxycontin for approximately 5 years. I recently changed Dr's and he doesn't dispense it. I'm in the Albany/Rensselaer New York area. Is anyone aware of any physicians that do ## Are you seeing just a general practitioner? If so, that most likely explains the problem. There have been a lot of changes going on throughout the East coast and into the mid-west, due to rampant over-prescribing and drug abuse. Thus, the FDA and DEA are trying to make it so that general practitioners and surgeons can no longer prescribe such medications for long-term use. Anyone that requires them for ongoing management of chronic pain is supposed to be referred to a pain management specialist for treatment, with only very specific and rare exceptions. Have you tried pain manageme...

I have chronic pain in my lower back and right hip and left knee. The lower back is due to degenerative disc disease and tilted discs, the right hip is from extreme arthritis and calcification of the cartridge and hardening of the arteries and the left knee is arthritis and a torn meniscus... I was on 30mg of Oxycodone every 6hrs for the pain for pain management for long term because I've been told there's nothing that can be done at this time besides control the pain with medication. However I was married to a drug addict that was taking my pills and abusing them, so I would run out way early and when they would do a drop on me sometimes I would not have the medication in my body... However I am no longer married to this person. In fact he is in prison and I really need my pain...

I have been taking Vicodin HP prescribed by my doctor for Lupus and it has worked so well. Now the pharmacies say they are no longer making it.Can you please help me with my problem. I had sent another message before but I had sent the wrong e-mail. ## Some companies were marketing unapproved version of these types of medications and have been forced to stop due to a crack down by the FDA. You need to speak to your doctor about possibly getting the name brand or finding a suitable alternative. Have you contacted your doctor, yet?

I am extremely underweight and skinny. I am a female aged 25 years and weigh 45kg. Pls help. I need a drug/medicine I can use to add weight fast as I am so sick of hearing that I am too thin. ## Gabapentin!!! It is an anticonvulsant. Ask your doctor and google it. People always gain weight when they take it. ## An anticonvulsant medication like Gabapentin should probably not be used for it's potential weight gaining purposes only, just because others have said that they gained some weight while taking it. For all we know, they could've also changed their diet and/or lifestyle while they were taking that medication; leading up to an extra few pounds. I'm not saying that it wont help you gain any weight, but the bottom line is, if you want more control over your weight (throug...

What drugstores can I get Levatol 20mg (Penbutolol) in Delaware. ## can I get Levatol 20mg In a pharmacy in any state ? and can you tell me which States ? ## Hello, June! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of pharmacies according to what medications they have in stock that I can refer to for you. If you're having that much trouble finding it, you may be better served to speak with your doctor about prescribing an alternative medication, such as Labetalol. It treats the same conditions and the side effects are similar, as listed by the FDA, and may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension and increased urination. Will hydrocodone/APAP 5/325 raise glucose levels for diabetics? ## I've done several searches on the medication information and haven't found anything stating that it's been known to do so, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. Was it prescribed by the same doctor that treats you for Diabetes?

I am on several medications and trying to see if grapefruit is going to interact with any of them I'm not very good at using the web so was looking for some help. I am on baclofen, clonazepam, gabapentin, morphine sulfate, omeprazole, oxybutynin, tizanidine, trazadone, and enoxaparin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Moe! How are you? Yes, grapefruit can interact with Trazodone and Oxybutynin by increasing how much of them you absorb. This could cause you to experience more side effects, than usual, which may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and blurry vision. It would be best to be cautious and only indulge in grapefruit, if your medical provider approves. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How longer will grape juice shows its effects on oxy...

Needing to find a suboxone Dr in southern indiana that accepts HIP fast! Thought I could do this on my own but I'm extremely sick? I've tried Mega dosing Vitamin C and it was helping and now it's not. I'm trying to get clean plz help ## A little more info, I've been addicted to opiates for almost 6 years, when I was diagnosed with a painful disease while I was 7 months pregnant, against my better judgement I took the meds I was prescribed. At the time it was Lortabs 7.5 then lortabs 10 then norco 10 then Percocet 10, I was told it would not affect my baby even if I breast fed her. eye drops that start with the letter d... two words second word start with K ## Hi terri, I've checked out several lists of various eye drop brands, and have yet to come across one that fits your description exactly. Dexamethasone (Ophthalmic) is the closest match I'm finding. This happens to be an ophthalmic corticosteroid, prescribed for swelling, itching, redness and irritation of the eyes. You can read more about it here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682869.html Other brand names I found include: Dexair, Dexacidin, and Dexasporin Hopefully this helps to narrow down your search! Please post back if you happen to have any more information to add.

Are there any vitamins or other OTC drugs that may resemble Percocet 7.5mg? I suspect there may have been a mix up from the pharmacy. ## It is very doubtful, since prescription medications are all required to have markings on manufactured tablets, or capsules, to enable their identification in case of emergency. In cases of overdose, or severe allergic reactions, where a person might be unresponsive, the markings enable emergency responders to be sure what the person took, so they can provide the best possible treatments. That said, what are the markings on the tablets you've received? Can you please post back with this information, and a description of the tablets? These details would enable someone to check the identification for you to ascertain whether or not you have received t...

I have been on methadone for over a year. My dr got arrested, now I'm out of my meds and I don't know what to do. I'm going through withdrawal and it sucks. My primary dr will not prescribe it. I am in so much pain, I'm starting to lose my mind. ## They never should have prescribed methadone for you. Not for pain relief. That's probably why the doc got arrested. Methadone is used to get people off opiates. But now your addicted to methadone. Get off that drug. You'll be a slave to it and can't live without it. You'll wind up in a methadone clinic. If you do, detox asap.

I have a metal rod that has 5 of my vertebrae fused together so I experience pain but do not ewant a lot of the strong pain killers I get addicted to. Suboxone requires at least 48 hrs of detox before use and I have children and a job so I do not have 72 hrs to be out of commission. I'd like to start on subutex immediately. ## I am sorry, Nathan, but Subutex requires the same detox period. You must be in full withdrawal, or they might throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, vomiting, chills, fever, and seizures. There is also a risk of them being fatal. The active ingredient, which is Buprenorphine, takes a stronger hold on the opiate receptors in your brain than other opiates do, so basically kicks them out, which can cau...
