I could really use some advice here. I moved to the Chicago area from out West and the pain management is like night and day from there to here. I feel like b/c there is such a drug abuse problem in the Chicagoland region the doctors I have seen are not willing to prescribe opiates and if they do they aren't willing to prescribe what is necessary to provide pain relief. The doctors I have been seeing in the Chicagoland area seem dead set on installing a Spinal Cord Stimulator. I have also had a doctor who only wants to do epidurals, injections and when he looked at what I was prescribed to when I came and saw him, he literally flipped out. Followed swiftly by a drastic drop in my medications and him saying "you'll be on motrin by this summer". Yet just a month and a 1/2 ...

I just moved to Wheeling, WV and was wondering if someone knew a dr that's can prescribe opioids for pain management? I am currently taking nucynta and tramadol and would like to stick with what works. ## Hello, Jescakin! How are you? All doctors have to be cautious about prescribing such medications, now, if not, they risk losing their license to practice medicine, as well as fines and jail time. They are restricted in what they can prescribe, how much they can prescribe and any they can prescribe it. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would most likely be the easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? ## Hi well I got my dr in MI working on a referral for a pain clinic for me. I was denied as a patien...

I live in small town Santa Fe, TX single mother who is dealing with extreme anxiety issues, such as driving and going into public places with lots of people...when I get around to many people I get so overwhelmed and anxiety goes form zero to 100... I also deal with depression, I can't sleep at night, and when morning comes I don't want to get out of bed. I cry all the time and feel as if I am losing control.. I have two kids to take care of and I need the help. I have dealt with anxiety and depression since I was 15yrs old, but in the last three years it has gone so out of control...i was prescribed xanex for three yrs when I was younger, and it worked for me. Prozac for my depression on the other hand didn't work..i am looking for a Dr. That will see that I am looking for ...

My primary dr refuses to prescribe any pain medication at all for me, even though I have 2 ruptured discs, and my L5-S1 is completely gone so it's bone on bone and I have the MRI to prove it. He sent me to a pain management doctor, whose policy is to refer back to the primary for any narcotics...the Professional Run-around... I was on Tramadol from January 2014 to May. It wasn't the best, but made it so I could function. I had a seizure from it the first week of May, and have been without any medication ever since. Both doctors know this, and won't do anything. I have been waiting since May for authorization from the insurance for facet injections. This is ridiculous that I have been in so much pain that I sleep less than an hour a night, have had to go on a medical leave fro...

Was in rehab in the past under court order so finding a Dr. that will give narcotics for my pain has been close to impossible. Want to get pain meds from Dr. not from street. Anyone know a doctor who is sympathetic to chronic pain patients around Traverse City, MI. area? ## You might want to contact a lawyer to see if your states reports people who have been in rehab by the state and if people are flagged and how a doctor would get that information. Sometimes this information is not shared between agency's. For example I don't know how your doctor would know unless you are flagged by your state monitoring program. However when you see a new doctor they will ask you to sign a pain contract before getting opiates medication and if he finds out you lied you could be dropped and tha...

I have been fighting Pancreatitis for the past 4 years. I've been hospitalized 17x's in 20 months. I live in constant pain, my doctor will only prescribe me 30 x Roxy 30's a month equals 1 a day, JOKE! can anyone help? ## Hello, Matt! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain. What type of doctor are you seeing? If you require heavy narcotics on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, so pain management might be your best bet. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? Is there a chance your current doctor might be able to refe...

I've been through so much with my body being damaged in a car accident in MAY of 2014, I broke my left eye socket. Also both arms and wrists, a worst of all I will never be able to run again. I have severe muscle cramping all over my body. I cant bend my left leg much more than 43%. I haven't had any luck here in Madison, Wi finding a provider to ease my pain. I also broke part of a bone off on my knee, its where my FEMUR meets the PATELLA. If anyone can assist in helping me find a DR near me who will listen to my story and be compassionate with prescribing narcotics, please send me a message.

Does anyone know of a doctor in WI that is willing to prescribe narcotics for chronic pain. I am a legitimate pain patient. I had twelve vertebrae fused and suffer from severe chronic pain that significantly impacts even the most simple daily activities. I have taken a large dose of opiates for a substantial amount of time (over 7 years) and metabolize the medication very quickly. My doctor is retiring, and I need to find a doctor with an open mind who is willing to look beyond the ignorant stigma surrounding narcotics and approach my treatment in a non-offensive way rather than immediately assuming that anyone who takes narcotics does so illegitimately. NEED A WI DR. HELP! WILL GO ANYWHERE IN WI. ## In Wisconsin, you actually have an organization called the Alliance of State Pain Initi...

I have chronic back pain and I need to find a doctor in Fort Collins Colorado who will prescribe me pain meds. ## Dr turner front range brain and spine. He will give you what you need in the way of pain meds however he is very professional and wont be fooled by liars. I myself was hurt legitimately and he prescribed soma and norco. His nurse on the other hand is a joke. Just deal with him direct and u should be fine. Good luck and i hope you get to feeling better. ## Hi. I'm 38. name is Christian. I just moved to Fort Collins from Amarillo TX. I'm on Methadone and Xanax and Renvila blood pressure sensor and a whole other plethora of meds. I'm looking for a pcp who can hopefully write narcotics too. I've got a spinal cord injury and end stage renal disease. I go to dialys...

suffering from cronic headaches and neck pain due to a variety of events ## looking for a new dr. who will be willing to give me the same meds as I was taking before I moved here, they are narcotics that I take on a regualar basis for headaches and neck pain, hydro codone 10 to be exact, where I came from it is tough to find a dr. who will help you, how will I start over in Portland to find a helpful Dr.? ## I'd suggest looking for someone that specializes in pain management and making sure that they get a full copy of your medical records from your prior doctor. In many cases, if you go in asking for a specific medication they will see it as drug seeking behavior, but they can see what works for you as documented by other physicians, they are more likely to prescribe accordingly. I need to find a doctor in Clay City, In. that will prescribe percocet. ## Why do people need Percocet/oxycodone? I have been reading a lot of posts and I see people Dr. shopping. In order to get pain meds/narcotics/controlled substances, you must go to a licensed Pain Clinic. You have to sign a pain contract, take a U/A every two months and can only get your pain meds from your Pain Clinic. Family doctors, family medical practices and even Sports medicine Centers as well only prescribed Percocet for a very short period of time. An example is when I get a tooth pulled I get 17 Percocet which is enough to last for five days and then your tooth should be healed. I don’t suggest that you keep Dr. shopping because it will catch up with you. What I’m suggesting for these people t...

I was in an auto wreck and nothing else has worked, not the chiro, inj's., diclofenac, nothing. Methadone for pain kind of worked, but not like oxy. My doctor before moved, and now I have one who wants me to have painful inj's. which I am not really wanting when a pill is simple and I can stop and find out how I am doing any time. Is there any doctor in the Bay Area (Mountain View, Redwood City, San Jose, Hayward, Castro Valley, anywhere!) who will take this on? I am so tired of being told I need off of them. Plus, the inj's. aren't going to be covered due to Med Pay (we didn't have that, just basic car insurance), and so pretty much all these alternative places that don't do narcotics such as Gang Li and Dr. J ad the Comprehensive Pain Management Center are not ...

ive been in pain mgmnt for 15yrs. taken of percs(longterm use causing liver failure) put on roxys. have been on 30's for several yrs now. They work without making me high or woozy. LVPI has stopped prescribing eff jan 1. Are there any dr's not afraid of DEA? Morphine..dilaudid etc make me loopy. with bleeding ulcers..percs etc are out of the question..HELP ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are still worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). I'm sure there's still a good percentage out there who will drift from the pack and prescribe whate...

I had a wreck in my vehicle and tested positive for alcohol and now I'm unable to get prescribed any narcotics in TN, which I've been on for years, due to the notes from the hospital that treated me. Could I drive to another state and become a PM patient there? Looking for objective answers, not negative comments. ## Go down to the corner and score some, like everyone else that the government forced on people who need them!! ## I'm not going to condone this but Snoopy snoop has a point. Apparently, here in SC and almost every other state in the union, has an "Opioid Crisis". True, I believe it is exaggerated by the government, I haven't figured out for whose benefit yet. I was told, by a doctor, that the only way anyone will receive a steady narcotic or opioid pr...

I have been using Dextromethorphan 60mg Sr/ER for pain management. I was prescribed this medication, which is made in a compounding pharmacy by a doctor in California who is actively involved with the NIH(National Institute of Health. This pain management doctor uses off label medications, but is light years ahead of the traditional pain management doctor, who goes through their steps of the various epidural, nerve blocks, a multitude of other treatment that all the other pain management physicians practice, all the way up to a spinal cord stimulator or pump. I tried all of those treatments and was told no treatment remains, other than heavy narcotics, which do not work in the slightest for me. I heard about this doctor through my brother as I was in the hospital on a dialaudid drip for...

I have 3 herniated discs c4-c6 and myofasacia that was diagnosed from a car accident in October. 2014. My pop will not prescribe narcotics, I am currently in a pain management program who has sent me to physical therapy, a neurologist, and provided a tens unit. I am in pain 24x7 and cannot sleep because of the level of pain. My pain management Will not prescribe any pain medication. I have discussed this with my psychiatrist and psychologist who cannot believe they have left me in pain for so long. The pain has gotten so bad I have gone to their office 6 times with all my documentation, given 5 days of mess and told to call my dr, who says TO TAKE TYLENOL. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO? I can't take the level of pain increasing. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I'm so very sor...

I found this great Pain Specialist who actually helps people with legitimate problems that have found that they are only helped with Narcotics. This Doctor does not treat you like a drug fiend and actually believes you when you tell the truth. He then prescribes a reasonable amount of narcotics to help make your life better. Once you have proved you are honest you don't have to take a drug panel every month either and he writes a 3 month supply just like with heart medication. Sound Like a dream? It is; at least from my 20 years of experience of being a pain patient. Why can't people who have real medical problems get real medical help when they need it? I think some Doctors need to get their butts sued and medical licences lost for lack of proper care of people in 24x7 agony! T...

I have a severe injury to my back that is not operable. I have been seeing a Pain Management doctor who will write scripts that are narcotics. We lost our Employment Insurance and only have Medicaid right now. Can you help us out, PLEASE!!! ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I am sorry that you're in so much pain. Unfortunately, there is no such list of doctors that can be provided for you. Technically, any doctor with a valid license to practice medicine could prescribe it, but due to government scrutiny over prescribing practices, many choose not to do so. In addition, if you go to a new doctor asking for narcotics, they are likely to view that as being drug seeking behavior. Thus, the best thing to do would be to find a new doctor that accepts your Medicaid, make sure they get a copy of...
