Doxycycline Side Effect

Dr prescribed this for my wife n I to keep us from getting sick while going thru ivf, but since I started taking it my gums hurt. Is that a side effect? ## Hello, Mark! How are you? I was prescribed doxycycline for uti/possible pelvic infection. I saw 2 doctors and they told me two different things. I have been on the medicine for 3 days and am experiencing severe headaches, extreme pressure in my stomach and bloating. Is this normal? i am taking 2 a day of 100mg doxycycl and in a week i will be in florida and would like to enjoy the beach for a couple hours a few days while im there, is that too much sun exposure if i normally don't burn hardly ever? ## How did your vacation go? When you are taking a medication like this, you are generally warned about sun exposure, because it can make you much more sun sensitive. ## My niece is taking this drug for acne it is 100mg and she takes it 1 X a day. SHe is experiencing chest pain and says it is a side effect of this drug????? ALso, is it ok to just stop taking this drug or does one have to wean off?? Doctor gave me doxycycline and said to start taking it if i got worse. I took a nap and awoke in a worse state. If i take one now at 3:30pm can i take another tonight at 12:00; then tomorrow go every 12 hours? ## Ideally, it should be taken as close to 12 hours apart as possible, according to the FDA.
