Hi i have pimples on my skin i was given doxytet which is working fine nw my concern is my husband n i we are trying to fall pregnant will this pill affect this process should i stop taking them? ## Hi, Mislee! How are you? Doxytet contains the active ingredient Doxycycline and while it won't affect your ability to get pregnant, it shouldn't be taken while you are pregnant, because animal studies have shown evidence of it causing fetal toxicity. And since you really can't know the exact time you get pregnant, you should probably speak to your doctor now about either discontinuing it or using a safer antibiotic. I have been treating an sti for months now but I still have a burning sensation and irritating pains in my urinary tract and genitals. I have been taking metazol for weeks but it's still burning. Please what should I do? ## Hello, Prince! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. Have any exams been done? It is possible that you have a kidney stone and not an STI, but only a doctor can tell you for sure and, in many cases, it requires a CT scan. Metazol is an antibiotic, so it will only help with bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and diarrhea. Does the pain or burning seem to throb? Does it come and go or is it constant?

Yes, it sounds like you've developed a yeast infection and will need an antifungal medication to clear it up. As to the rash, it may take a couple of weeks for it to clear up and go away. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it safe to take doxytet while breast feeding ## Doxttetracycline is an antibiotic and it can really depend on how long you are taking it. If you will be on it for a long term, then you may want to avoid breast feeding while taking it, because this class of antibiotics has been known to cause staining of the tooth buds of developing infants and children and this staining is permanent. If you are only on it for a short time, such as 10 days or so, then there shouldn't be any issues, because there hasn't been enough of it detected in the breast milk in such cases to cause harm. i was prescribed this for a vaginal bacteria infection. since i have been taking it i have experienced itching in this region and almost feels sensitive and swollen. is this normal? am i allergic? ## Unfortunately, while Doxycycline is an antibiotic that can treat bacterial infections, it can cause a fungal yeast infection, as a side effect. Thus, you should visit your doctor, again, because you will probably need an antifungal medication to treat that. Are there any other questions or comments?
