I'm 6wks pregnant and was treated for malaria given quinine 12doses.Also drank some herbal missed with gin . Now my question is my baby safe from deformity? ## Alcohol is never a good idea, while pregnant, in any amount, it could cause fetal alcohol syndrome, according to the NIH, so you need to make sure your doctor is aware that you drank something mixed with gin. As to the use of Quinine during pregnancy, it is the recommended treatment and, according to the U.S. FDA, no risks to the baby have been proven. Are you on any other medications?

Hi , My neice was getting fever during nights continously for 3 to 4 days , when we took her to doctor and conducted blood tests malaia and typhoid tests are negative. Doctor has suggested monocef 1g iv/im injection twice a day for 5 days,. we took the dosage for 3 days. Now i want to know whether 2mg /day is too heavy for 4yrs kid. ## Hello, Bp! How is your nice doing? How much does she weigh? At that age, antibiotics are dosed by weight and then the total amount is split in several doses, just like what the doctor has instructed you to do. And no, that actually isn't an unusual amount, at all. The FDA classifies this medication as being an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

I've been going to the same methadone clinic for years now and have all my take-homes ( i pick-up once a week). For the past 2 weeks my doses have tasted VERY different! Also, I've been having symptoms such as, headache, dizziness, fatigue, skin issues, and general malaise. So, I happen to know, from chatting w a nurse, that they use lysol disinfectant to clean the thermos dispensers ( 1 holding water, 1 holding cherry syrup) they use these to water-down or flavor your methadone dose. Well my take-homes have water added, from these dispensers, and now have the uncanny smell and yes taste of lysol... As if they didn't properly rinse them and i'm scared of the potential risk involved in ingesting that. Btw i most certainly know what it should taste like( been drinking it w...

I have a small tablet shaped container about an inch wide & 1/4 deep, yellow, made of tin(?) which has dark blue print in all caps encircling its outer/upper cover(Excelento Quinine Pomade-Free Sample-in smaller type->-Pesented By-Excelento Medicine Co. Atlanta, GA. On the back, it has in evenly spaced, capital print explaining its used in a 30 discription. ## Quinine is a medications that has long been used to treat malaria. In lower doses, it makes its way into a lot of over the counter herbal supplements, as it is believed to help with many conditions, because of its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. A pomade means this one is meant to be used topically and not taken internally. Are there any other comments or questions?
