I don’t feel I’m getting the proper dosage of my Xanax. I feel overmedicated... I just want to feel normal. Is 2 mg extended-release and up to 6 mg short-acting considered a high or low dose? ## One 2 MG Xanax XR would be about as much as you would want to take. An additional 6 MG of Xanax in any other form, with or without the 2 MG Xanax XR is too much, way too much! ## Hello Wendy, Nobody on this forum is going to be able to tell you what the proper dosage is for you. I'm not trying to be rude or discredit anyone here but every person reacts to medication differently. If you feel that the dosages that you are taking are too much that would be a discussion you need to have with the doctor who is prescribing you the medication. What I can tell you is that there are defin...

I get occassional chet pain when I walk when I donot take Angispan TR. Should I take when I get pain or I can take twice a day 2.5mg as precautionary My Left Main is 80 % closed and I am plannig Angioplasty in two weeks time. ## How has your doctor directed you to use it? This medication contains Nitroglycerin, which is most commonly used to treat angina. As to when you should take it, that is something your doctor needs to help you decide, as no one else is really qualified to do so.

My son is 11 and weighs 37.8 kilos. 6 days ago he had 39.8 temps and was diagnosed with tonsillitis. The doctor prescribed amoxil 250mg / 5ml @ 10ml / 3 times a day with a repeat.... This would see him on the antibiotic for roughly 6 to 7 days... I've since been to my regular doctor and she said 'amoxil' would not have been her 1st choice for this condition but that there was no point changing it now as he'd already been on them for a couple of days. She also said I could stop them after 5 days as this would be a sufficient dose. However we are always told to finish the full course of antibiotics generally, standard procedure when taking antibiotics. Is this really ok to stop them after 5 days (before all the contents in the bottle are finished)? I only ask because in th...

I currently take very high dosages of oxycodone 30mg ir and dilaudid 8mg. I think after the process of elimination that my body isn't tolerating the morphine (dilaudid) and I've been on oxy for years. I was on 80mg oc before the op and couldn't tolerate new op because of binder I wasn't getting the needed meds. I need to go off of the dilaudid going to dr tomorrow, I want to be educated and know if I switch over to only oxycodone is it reasonable to ask for the equivalent of oxy to the dilaudid in addition to the amount of oxy I am currently taking? Thank you and FYI I take 90mg oxy 4x day and 16mg dilaudid 4x day and I stagger so that pain is controlled round the clock. Thank you ps what I woul like is oxy equal to dilaudid dosage. ## Dialudid contains Hydromorphone, it...

Son Takes 10 instant release mg in a.m. then crashes and very unhappy at two pm. Give him another five and works well till bedtime or sometimes up all night. Also script say amphetamine salts instead of Adderall M.D. ordered. ## Have you talked to his doctor about the problem? He may need a dosage adjustment, or a switch to the regular or time release formulation of the medication. And Amphetamine salts are the active ingredients in Adderall, so that is just the generic for it. It may cause some other side effects, such as nausea, irritability, anorexia and insomnia.

My doctor has prescribed Delzicol 400 mg capsules 3 capsules 4 times daily for 13 weeks however everywhere I look online including the manufacturers website and the FDA state it should be 2 capsules 3 times daily for 6 weeks. What should I do this medication can be overdosed as well as cause possible renal failure ## Hello, Leanna! How are you? I would suggest that you double check with your doctor, just to be safe. Learn more Delzicol details here. That would be better than risking overdose and renal failure. Is there anything else I can help with?

Small round blue pill with no imprints. ## Hello! How are you? If there are no imprints, we can actually rule it out as being a U.S. prescription tablet. They are all required by law to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Tablets without an imprint are most likely over the counter products, though there is a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Where was it found? Some over the counter products are regional, so knowing the general location may help to narrow it down. I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. Does anyone else have an idea of what this tablet might be?

Hi out there! I suffer from a panic disorder and am prescribed Zoloft and Buspar. I recently lost my insurance and have not been able to afford my Zoloft, so needless to say, that I have been going through a type of withdrawal. Which, in turn, brings on wild panic attacks. I've my Buspar becasue it's cheaper. My question is, has anyone ever taken the maximum dosage (60 mg) at once to help with the panic attack. I have to take 20mg three times a day. But, I am really struggling and I wonder if taking 40 or 60 mg at once will calm me down. Thanks for the input and the support ## Hello, Mase! How are you? No, taking that much at once is generally not recommended. Are you getting the generic Zoloft? If so, then it really shouldn't be that expensive. However, if it, then you may ...

I JUST STARTED THE DRUG CHLORTHALID 25 MG. TODAY. I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY INCREASE IN MY URINE OUTPUT. IS IT BECAUSE OF THE LOW DOSAGE? WOULD AN INCREASE IN THE DOSAGE HELP? ## No, you shouldn't arbitrarily increase the dosage of any medication on your own, it isn't safe to do so. And though this is a diuretic and will have a small immediate effect, like any medication, it will take awhile to reach its full effect in your body, so one day isn't really enough to judge its efficacy on. Learn more Chlorthalidone details here. If it's working for you, you'll know in a few days and, if not, then please let the prescribing doctor know. What are you taking it to treat? ## WELL, FIRST OF ALL, I SAID IT WAS 25 MG, AND I ONLY TAKE 1/2 OF A PILL, SO I'M TAKING 12 1/2 MG. ONC...

Dosage averages used it for sleep few yrs ago need it again forgot which strength I uses ## Hello! How are you? I'm sorry, but I'm to familiar with anything under this name. Were you possibly thinking of Remeron? Could you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## yeah, when it comes to remeron the lowest does is usually the most sedating. I also cannot remeber the doses :) Also if you take the next does it will be score. in the hospitol they told me they would split it if i needed it to be more sedating. I believe they did come out with a sublingual - not familiar with that one. Yes, get the smallest dose and try that. remeron is more sedating at the lower doses.

Hello everyone! I was just wandering if anybody else is sometimes off by the timing of taking their suboxone? My Dr. Told me 2 try and take it at the same time every day. But a lot of times I'm off by 2-4 hours. Reason being is, I'm up a lot of nights in pain ( sometimes, half the night.) and, I'll take it a little earlier, or, fall back 2 sleep, and take it a little later. I get u/a every time I go 2 Dr. And, I don't want it 2 effect my results. I do only take the amount I'm suppose 2. This just started happening recently. ## Hi Cats68, Being off a few hrs here and there shouldn,t effect your dose or u/a. Subs have an unbelievably long half life. My sub dr. told me that as far as pain is concerned subs only give relief for around 10hrs. Thats why he has me taking it...

are diladids available in 40mg dosages? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? No, the maximum dosage available of Dilaudid is 32mgs in the extended release formulation and 8mg in the regular release. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Do you know how to get these online?

I'm on week three of Contrave. I take 1pill in the morning with my wellbutrin and 2pills late afternoon. Yesterday I woke late so I took my morning dose late, I probably took the afternoon dose3 to 4hours later. About an hour or so later I got super nauseous and got sick! Is it possible that taking them too close together made me sick? Why is it recommended to take them 12 hours apart, is it because of the side effects are greater when you take the dosages to close together? ## Yes, that is one of the reasons, the higher the dosage taken closer together, the more severe the side effects, according to the FDA, which may also include nervousness, and insomnia. Another reason is due to the fact that all medications only last for a certain amount of time in the human body, so some must ...

Hello! My first time here so I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I'm a 36 y/o Female who has been Type I diabetic for 20 some odd years. I have had diabetic nueropathy and general anxiety disorder for around 4 years now. I was on Lyrica for both around 75mg dosage for several years and then upped to 100mg. My husband lost his job and thus my insurance went away too. I was off of Lyrica from about September of 2011 until about March 1st of 2012. After a bad reaction to Gabapentin, I was put back on the Lyrica. I noticed that on the 75mg 2x a day and I did fairly well but it wasn't -quite- enough. I was bumped up to 100mg 2x a day a little over a week ago and I immediately noticed a vast change. I started getting terrible chest pains that only went away when I took an acid...

My lorazepam was just inceased to 8mg. Can the recent increase cause side effects such as severe back pain and pain under the right breast in a person who has osteroporoseis who previously had minor side effects and is consuming adequate calcium ## Hello, Lindamann! How are you? Yes, it has been known to cause such symptoms, as side effects, in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, irritability and headache. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. It is best, however, to have it checked out by your doctor, to be sure. Do you still make verapamil 240mg 12 hour? I have been taking this dosage for years. What would I expect if I start taking the 24 hour tablet? Called 2 pharmacies and they do not carry the 12 hour dose. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? I'm sorry, but this website does not manufacture any medications, it is an information only resource. There really shouldn't be a lot of changes switching from one to the other, except for only taking one pill daily, rather than two. Has your doctor okayed the switch? Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, cough and hypotension.

i was told by a doctor that clonazepam cannot be taken prn..i am a nurses aide..but i used to take clonazepam myself...my patient was takint 1mg 3xs a day and they just pulled her off after a wk and changed to prn..i was told there could be serious side effects from this..is this true? ## It can be taken PRN, but it is not as effect as if it is constantly in your system and taken on a regular basis. This is true of most medications. As to whether or not the change is dangerous, it really depends on how long she has been taking it and how her body reacts to not taking it on a regular schedule. There is the potential that withdrawal can cause seizures, but she would have to go for quite awhile without taking any to put herself there. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Clonazepa...
