10 pound dog ate 20MG Lisinopril tablet. what will happen ## Have you contacted your veterinarian? I am sorry, but our website and any knowledge of my own is geared to the use of medications and their effects on humans, we really don't have much information on their use in canines. This is commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, so it could affect his heart rate and etc. Did you contact your vet?

I got a new blood pressure medication today. The pharmacy did not put child proof caps on my medicine like I have requested the last 6 years. Well, half of my Labetalol 100 mg spilled on the floor. All are accounted for except for one. I looked everywhere but could not find it. If my 10 yr old 16 pound minischnauzer finds and eats it, will it kill or harm her? (Note: my dog eats pills like they are treats.) ## I see this was posted a few months ago, so I hope all is well and your dog didn't get ill. For future reference, however, if you have a question about an animal, please contact your veterinarian. Our website and my own knowledge are specialized in information on the use of medications and their effects on humans. We have no information on how they may effect animals. Did your ...

My chiweenie was taking 1/2 Deramaxx 25mg once daily until the backorder began. I have 100mg tablets Rimadyl, would it be safe to quarter these and give her a quarter once daily? Thanks! ## Hi Migisi, If you feel that the vet prescribed a heavy dosage, then yes, I'd suggest cutting the pill into fractions when necessary, if not but to see how your dog responds to it. Even if there's not score/break lines on the pill I'd give it a try. The only time I don't recommend doing that is if the drug itself is an extended release version, because I'm not sure how that may affect it's chemistry. I hope this helps! ## Thanks David!

My 40lb Cattle Dog got ahold of my lasix pills I take for a heart condition. I cannot account for several 20mg pills. Are these pills toxic for dogs, and should I take him to the vet? Any advice would be helpful. ## On this I have to say: Yes, please contact your veterinarian! Our site, the available information and any knowledge of my own pertains only to the use of medications in humans. There are some medications that can be used cross-species, with dosing adjustments, but not all can be used safely in dogs. In addition, with the fact that he may have swallowed several, he could end up dangerously dehydrated very fast. Can you post back and let us know how he's doing? ## What did you do? ## 57 pound German Shepherd puppy ate some of my mom's Lasix will this hurt him I do not ...

Rottweiler his 3rd verba bray bone is believe to affected the vet gave him this drug. He is now stumbling all over the place. This is either cause by the medicine or the bone. Answers Please ## Hello, Hawg! How are you? This is an antibiotic and the FDA lists its typical side effects, in canines, as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and drowsiness. Thus, it may actually be a combination of both, since this medication can cause dizziness. However, I am not well versed on the use of mediations in animals, so I advise you to consult your veterinarian to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with?

spring and summer bring erruptions on my peke which drives us both crazy with her scratching and rubbing her eyes. I spend about two hours a day rubbing and scratching her. ## Have you had her tested by a veterinarian? They can test animals, just as they do humans, to see what they are allergic to and what the proper treatment would be. There are also antihistamines that can be used for dogs to treat allergies. ## Hi Jenny are you still struggling with this issue? If so, I can reply to you here or faster via email if you still need help, at answers@immuneiq(com) - Cynthia

I read somewhere on the internet that you can use urbanol for dogs. If a dog has a neurological proplem and it's muscles keeps on contracting, can urbanol be used for the dog in 0,5mg doses once a day and will it help? Or is there something else that can help?

Val-Torb was given to my mini doxie for a chronic condition. He weighs 16 lbs and the dosage was 1.5mls 3 times a day but it made him horribly sick and shaky. As soon as I took him off he was OK. Has anyone out there had a problem with this medication? ## What this stands for is Valium, which is a Benzodiazepine that's used for its calming effect and Torbutrol (Butorphanol), which is used to relieve pain. I don't know what the dosage should be for canines, because veterinary medications are not my speciality, but it sounds like it may have been too much of the Torbutrol for him. Have you contacted your vet? A lower dose or different medication may be necessary. ## How long is Val/Torb good for? ## What long term side effects doa dog get when given Val torb long term ## I have yo...

Can i take amox clav for dogs to treat my tooth ache its hard to get to hospital. ## Hello, Travis! Sorry about the toothache. You're going to have to see a dentist. There are some medications that are made for canines, which aren't manufactured to human standards, so it may not be safe for you to take, additionally, if you don't have enough to finish a full course of treatment, it creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. And while an antibiotic can help with the infection, it will not fix the underlying cause of the infection, such as a deep dental cary, so it will just keep returning, until you see your dentist and have it corrected. Is there anything else I can help with?

My boxer ate a z-pack pill. He is 85 pounds. What do I do? ## Azithromycin is used to treat canines, as well as people, so there is most likely nothing to worry about, but it would be best to check with your veterinarian. He may experience some side effects from it, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, drowsiness and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My Jack Russell ate my husband's Azithromycin 250 mg pill. Will she be alright? ## Hi Patricia. Sorry to hear about what happened. What are the side effects of this drugs in dogs? Is lose of appetite one of them? ## Hello, Based on my research, the Tussigon (Hydrocodone bitartrate + homatropine methylbromide) could possibly cause a dog to lose his/her appetite due to the fact that one of the common side effects is nausea/upset stomach. It is not uncommon for medications to cause these kinds of issues in humans and animals. If you have a dog that is experiencing a loss of appetite, I would contact a veterinarian as soon as possible. I hope this helps! ## My dog lost her appetite when taking Tussigon.
