I am writing you at all hours of the night due to my insomnia (my last dose was July 19th at 7pm). When I stopped, I was on 1mg a day (after 6yrs of use and 1.5 yrs of tapering down). It hasn't been easy, but it will get better, and it WILL get better for you too! Life sucks for a couple of weeks, no doubt, but just think of the freedom from dependence when it'...

I have gained custody of my grandchild because of parent addiction. They are now being given Suboxone, the rehab person says "no, they can't get high from it". I believe they can. From what information I have read he high is just not as strong. So can a person "get high" from suboxone? ## In theory, yes, someone could get high from it, because it still contains a narcotic, which is Buprenorphine. However, there are 2 factors that come into play to prevent their doing so and abusing it. When someone is in addiction treatment, the dosage is carefully calculated to be a maintenance dose, that way it prevents withdrawals from the other drugs they were abusing, but doesn't give a high effect. And the second is that it also contains Naloxone, which prevents their takin...

I was an opiate addict for numerous different years and I went to inpatient and outpatient rehab but they never gave me suboxone. The second I got out of rehab I did more opiates, and I did them for another year or so and I tried suboxone and that is what I stuck with. Well it is getting very expensive and I was not getting myself off it very good and now I am pretty much addicted to that. If I can't find suboxone I usually find another opiate to take. My main question is, if I go to an outpatient rehab, is there anyway I could still get suboxone? I want to get off suboxone and other opiates and I do believe this would be the way to do it. Suboxone withdrawl is rough so any thoughts or anything would be appreciated! ## Hi Andy, I don't know how the outpatient clinic type places ...

Does suboxone have morphine in it, because that's what they are talking about giving me? ## Hello, Emma! How are you? No, Suboxone contains Buprenorphine, which is an opiate, and Naloxone, which is used to help prevent people from taking other opiates, while they are being treated with it. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I went to my drugstore to fill my suboxone and the pharmacist told me my morphine level was too high. What did he mean? Confused and aggravated...

Like i said this has been going on for about two years. This is the biggest problem i have when trying to get clean, I know its going to be a struggle but i preparing myself mentally to just grin and bare it but i end up going through this cycle everytime i try to go cold turkey off subs or opiates. Hello, I recently got a job bus driving for my local school district. The same district my kids are in. I've been on suboxone for awhile now and I've searched the Internet for hours and I'm just making myself a nervous wreck. I need to know if they will approve my cdl being on subs. My dr has already said he will sign whatever I need him to as he knows I'm very responsible with my medication. I'm scared to death I will fail the physical and my kids school will then know. It's a very small town. Everybody knows everybody. I'm so excited for this opportunity. But I don't want it to affect my kids. I'm on Ohio. Thank you in advance

is this possible or is it all mental? I know someone who is on suboxone but prefers the subutex (white ones). He says that when he stops using them even suboxone doesn't help and that he feels sick. Is it in his head? ## The main narcotic in both of them is the same, it's Buprenorphine. The only difference is that Suboxone also contains Naloxone. Learn more Suboxone details here. So, it really doesn't make sense, but there's no way to be sure how any given medication is going to affect any given person that takes it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## no, must be in your head, unless you cant hand...

Hello. I'm trying to prove a point and figure this situation out so I need as many suggestions and help that I can possibly get with this question. If you handle quite a few Suboxone wrappers and had even handled Suboxone itself but have never taken Suboxone, is there any way that could get into your system without taking it? Thank you so much this means a lot to me. It really does. And yes I have tried to research this question and I get so many different results so I thought I would come to this wonderful MedChat and try to get a lot more information. Just trying to prove a point. I'm so desperate to figure this out. So please help me. ## Hi Annie, I'm not an expert in the forensics of touching a medication like Suboxone. However, I am under the impression that Suboxone ta...

I have a pill that's suposted to be suboxone it has an arrow but instead of just an 8 it has a N8 on the other side I feel nothing is it a sub it dissolves Nd tastes like lemon ## Hello, Eric! How are you? Yes, Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co. list this as being an 8mg/2mg generic for Suboxone in a sublingual formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Well yesterday was my last day of subs for me. I tapered myself all the way down to .5mg a day. I'm ok today but my back is starting to mess with me, but I'm fine. The highest dose I've ever taken was 8mg but didn't like the way it made me feel. I've been on subs for almost 5yrs now and it's just time to stop. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!! It all started with a real bad car accident in which I rolled my car 4 times on I95 in Virginia almost 11yrs ago. Was put on pain pills and the next thing you know I was using oxy's and H main streaming it. Got clean then went right back to it. Went to methadone clinic, and then switch to subs and here I am almost 5yrs later. The hardest part for me right now is that I have a full time job that I like, an...

Hello everyone, I have been on Suboxone 8/2, twice a day for over 5 years. I want to get off it but I have major health compications. I've had major depression my whole life. My last psychiatrist put me on several other drugs for my depression. One of them is an amphetamine called Vyvanse. (70 mg.) I'm also on 4 mg of clonazepam, 200 mg. of pristiq and Dexilant for acid reflux. I have a history of a negative lipid profile. In addition, I have high blood pressure. I'm also 60 years old. I know that I should never stop anythin suddenly. I have been unable to find asome out of the physician to supervise the withdrawal from anything. I am really afraid that Suboxone withdrawal will trigger a heart attack or stroke because everytime I try to taper down, My heart starts pounding i...

I want to get clean as I have been on opiates for too long. Please advise. ## Hi Tina! I was on opiates for 11 years and became sick and tired of addiction. I've been on suboxone for 10 years now and my life has been so much better. It helps with withdrawals and cravings. It's up to you which route you want to take to get clean. Some people go cold turkey, some go on methadone and others take suboxone. I've tried cold turkey and suffered severely. But everyone is different. Were you looking for information about suboxone or thinking about getting on it? If you have any questions I would be happy to help. ## stop taking opiates. You will get very sick, no way around this. You can accelerate the process by taking an antagonist, not something I would recommend unless I still ha...

How long were you on the suboxone for? Other than lack of energy, how are you feeling? ## New here. I have been on Subutex for 7 years. I am trying to get off. It has been 5 days since I had any and weaned before that. I STILL feel like my body is made of lead. I'm so close but can't handle this lack of energy and my legs hurt..... I'm so tempted to call the doctor for an appointment to get back on. Any suggestions? im am trying to get off painkillers no doctor will help i have 4 kids i need to worry about is there any place to buy suboxone leagly ## Unfortunately the only legal way to get Suboxone is through a prescription from your doctor. If you're trying to wean off I would highly recommend visiting a pain management doctor or specialist as opposed to a regular MD, since they are generally less reluctant to prescribe the types of medications. For more information on doctors in your area that are known for prescribing Suboxone and other related medications, I'd recommend checking out the the link below: buprenorphine-doctors.com/find-a-doctor.cfm I hope this helps! ## hi, i am assuming you are a woman, a mom of 4 children, looking to get off of opiates...i agree with david...i myself hav...

I am trying get myself clean off H n just took a 6mg suboxone strip. Will it help if so long till it works? ## Hi Kitty! B 4 the suboxone will work, u MUST b in withdrawals. Otherwise, it won't work and can make u feel worse. As far as time, they usually take about 15 minutes 2 work. If the g don't work, u may need more. It all depends on how much and how long u were using. But, if you want 2 get clean, u r going 2 need more than a day or few 2 do it. U should go 2 a clinic or suboxone dr and do it properly. If u r not already doing that. Remember, the main thing is 2 b withdrawing b 4 u take the suboxone.

Yes I live in Ohio I am an oppiate addict who is on disability ive been through it all i want to know if Ohio Disability ssd covers anything the meds or the visits to the doctors? ## Hi Gene, Based on my research, the Social Security Administration (SSA) webpage for some reason, does not actually list any of the types of services or disability that it supposedly covers. Basic information about the program can be found in the following pdf document. But I have yet to find specific details on coverage: ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10029.pdf However, from the looks of things, it seems like your best bet at this point would be to either contact the SSA directly regarding their coverage, or to discuss any type of disability information with your doctor. Reason being is that every doctor may have diffe...

Today is my first day at IOT.. I had a head injury one year ago .. Was given extremely high doses of oxy for 5 weeks .. Which turned into a very bad habit .. I took about 60mg a day .. They just gave me 2mg subx my Mind has settled but still feel like a drank 3 pots of coffee on the inside .. Does subx make you feel totally normal ? Or just keep you from getting sick ? ## Hello, Krissy! How are you feeling? Have things improved, at all? The Suboxone should eventually make you feel normal, but it can take a couple of tries to get the right dosage. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## ho...

My son is in rehab and they started him on suboxone one 4md in morning and 8 mg in afternoon. I can't find a provider that prescribes this in northern Harford County Maryland (Not Dr. Gay Please) How much is sub for an entire month supply or even daily. ## this site does not prescribe nor sell any medications. The price, however, can vary depending on where you purchase them, it is, quite expensive, though and you will not find a cheap price for it. Do you have any type of insurance to help with this? Have you spoken to the doctors about the possibility of Methadone as an alternative, since it has been on the market much longer and is much cheaper? Most doctors do prefer Suboxone, now, since it has enabled many people to get completely drug free, while a lot of people who use Methad...

I am on 8 mg og Suboxone a day. I take it at 6am. I know it should last atleast 24 hrs, but it seems as if I go to sleep during the day, I wake up sick. Is this possible, that when I'm sleeping my body burns off the suboxone quicker? ## No, that doesn't make any sense. When you are asleep, your metabolism actually slows down, so if anything, it should take longer to process a medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about this problem? It is highly possible that the current 8mg dosage you are on isn't enough for you. Another problem that may cause you to wake up sick, has to do with the same slowing of your metabolism when you sleep. And it has to do with if you are eating or drinking anything, before you lay down. Are you doing this? When you do this, the items you ingest...
