Does Percocet Really Help With Pain

Thank you in advance - I am on 3 Percocet / 2 soma / 2 Xanax I am 1 week into my prescription. i stopped taking hysingla 2 months ago it did not agree with me and felt sick no desire to eat lost weight and was still in pain .i am so tired of pain pills could someone please advise me the proper way to get off without terrible withdraws? I have about 40 pills left of Percocet soma & Xanax those do take pain away but really I feel like it's been too long to be on Meds,or at least cut back.im a 54 yr old grandma wife of 35 yrs 3 kids and really want to make a change/ like maybe some exercise yoga or walks.i have 4 bulging disk fibro a cage in my neck . I have stopped taking perc 5mg on Sunday still feeling a little funny how much longer will this last??? ## It really depends on how long you were taking it and how much you were taking regularly. It could take anywhere from a few days to about 2 weeks. This is classified by the FDA as a narcotic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and withdrawal effects, if you stop taking it suddenly are normal and may include nausea, headache, rebound pain, diarrhea and dizziness. I have been on vik and percs longer then I can remember. Over five years ti be sure. Currently 60-80 mg percs a day all perscribed. I want to get off them. Have had alit of medical issues/pain but its at the point I do not truely know what the pain is. I had major surgery about two montgs ago. Morphine dilliuad fir about two weks in hospital. I want to get iff meds and reacess if I even need them for pain or if just an addiction at this point. One real problem is I am to have more major surgery in two months. Then the narcs will be rx again. So two questiins here. How to taper and if I shoukd do it now or wait untill after surgery and when the surgical pain SHOULD be gone. I really need help. how effective is the pink pill 10 mg percoset ## Prescription pain medication effects every individual differently; and more or less in this situation because Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opioid that is made chemically. That is just my theory anyway. There is really no way a doctor can know ahead of time how any medication can affect anyone. They can only assume that it will be effective based on medical records, current health, age, what the condition is, whether or not any other medications are being taken at the same time, etc. Any of these factors as well as others can affect how you respond to this drug.

I've read where people say it's IMPOSSIBLE to fake the yellow 10/325 percocet and whoever believes that is sadly mistaken. The biggest sign is that sometimes the yellow is a little worn or the pill had white spots on it. The second is that the instant the water hits your mouth they almost instantly dissolve and you can hardly swallow the chalk in your mouth. The third and most important sign is this: if you hold a prescription pain killer up to the light it had a sort of gloss/sheen to it. The fakes do not have this. If I have been taking Percocet and they gave me Tramacet. Will Tramacet be as effective as Percocet? ## It really depends on you, the only way to see how well it works for you is by trying it. However, the Tramadol is the Tramacet is a much weaker opiate, so it may not help you. 12 years ago my church had a ski and snowboard retreat. Traditionally we race together at the last run of the day. By the time i hit the bottom there was a huge pile up and i twisted my board sideways to stop at about 45mph and my torso twisted the opposite way. Good Morning, I need help with this situation. I also have deterioation of my spine.I was sent to a Pain specialist. I was put on the generic Percocet 10/325 for 2 years . I was then changed to Fentanyl 50 mg. and taken off of the Percocet completely. I started feeling dizzy, my blood pressure went up, I started shaking, I could continue to go on. I have been taking percocet 7/325 three (3)X daily along with oxycontin every day for several years, prescribed by doctor due to several herniated discs. Recently I traveled out of the country and was surprised to see codeine products for sale in pharmacies without a script. I purchased a couple of boxes of Co-codamol 8/500 , hoping it would be an effective backup for times when I ran short of percocet. Just received alvogen Percocet for the first time yesterday and was very skeptical being that I have gotten the actavis before and had such a bad reaction with no relief at all. After reading reviews I just knew that it wasn't going to work. This medication has exceeded all doubt. Took care of my pain very quickly with minimal stomach upset. I have had quite a few generic brands before from mallinkrodt, Roxane, endocet, qualities, and actavis. Mallinkrodt and Roxane being the best in my opinion. I am thankful.
