When taking a urine drug test, will vicodin show up the same as morphine? ## No it will not. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid medication. It's currently synthesized from thiabine and as such is no cross reactive with reagents used to detect opiates such as codeine and morphine. I recently gave birth and the test they did on his first stool showed up hydromorophone. I was given morphine and vicodine at the hospital in September because I was really sick. Could that be why that showed in the test because I never took the stuff. ## No its nothing to do with the morphine. hydrocodone converts to hydromorphone when metabolized in your system thats why you may have tested positive for hydromorphone. If they was giving you those types of opioids then i dont understand why they tested you. Anyone in the medical proffesion should know this !!! ## Hydromorphone is the generic term for dilaudid. Please someone help. I've just lost the chance of a new job cause I failed a drug test. They asked me if I'd taken morphine so I'm assuming that's what came up. I've never ever taken any drugs. I tested positive for morphine twice now at 2 diff. pain clinics but I only take norco (hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10/325) and oxycodone 5 mg hcl. Codeine is metabolized into morphine; hydrocodone is metabolized into hydromorphone. As far as whether they'll know the results immediately, it depends what type of test they're utilizing and if they use an in-house lab. I take Norco 7.5/325mg and Morphine Sulfate 15mg E tab. When my pain management doctor has given me a urine drug test, it has shown up as Hydromorphone/Dilaudid. Is it possible when the two are taken at the same time it might show up as Hydromorphone/Dilaudid in the urine drug test since the two are mixed together? ## It is actually probably due to the test itself. The cheaper, non-certified tests that most doctors use are known to give false positives anywhere from 4 to 50% of the time. Semi-synthetic and synthetic opiates are well know to give false positives on them for other synthetic or semi-synthetic opiates. I am prescribed Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Elavil, Relafen, Phenergan and take Midol, AZO and Dayquil. I recently got drug tested by my doctor. She said my urine showed Hydromorphone, Morphine and Suboxone but did not show my Hydrocodone and oxycodone. I know it has to be wrong because I did not take the medicine she said was in my urine. I have looked online for answers but am still unclear. It has to be a false positive. Man the amount of people who have no clue what they are talking about yet spitting advice on it like they are an expert is bewildering. NO FENTANYL does not show up as an opiate on any test anywhere. In fact the only things that will show up as an opiate are morphine, codeine, and heroin and that is because heroin and morphine metabolize into morphine. Not even oxycodone or hydrocodone can be detected as an opiate they have to be specifically tested for as they metabolize differently, same with methadone, methadone has to be specifically tested for, it will not show up as anything but methadone. So unless the test you are taking is specifically testing for fentanyl then you will be fine. The question is whether or not the test you are taking is testing for fentanyl. I have yet to see a ...

I took a urine test for court yesterday and it came up positive mop. I'm not sure what this means but the judge said i tested positive for moriphine. I have not taken any morphine and the only meds i take are hydrocodone 7.5/500, which is perscribed and neurontin. Since cdc mandated 90mg morphine or equivalent as daily max amount to be prescribed my pain management clinic has been reducing my pain meds..... i was receiving 75mcg patch & 6 hydrocodone for breakthru pain. First drop was to 50mcg & 6 remained same thats a major drop of like 80mg morphine equivalent if i remember right.... but wasnt drastic effects other than pain increase (over 15 years of pain medications experience) but following month dropped to 25 &12mcg patch & 7 hydrocodone but had major dizzy spell after being on my feet for awhile was like a major vertigo attack that lasted 30-45 minutes when mentioned to dr they started running tests after test, i told them it was from med cut but they wouldnt believe me.
